Chapter 2 – Willow

Morning was here, I could feel the sun shining through the windows. I was so stupid last night for not closing those damn curtains before falling into bed.

I shifted trying to get more comfortable, not ready to get up, when something held me in place. My heart pounded, making the headache that was blindingly there more evident. I opened an eye and looked at what was holding me down. A tattooed arm held me in place.

‘Oh shit!’ I almost yelled, I thought that whole sexual escapade with my boss was a dream. I wouldn’t normally do anything like that. I took a calming breath, trying to slow my heart rate. What was I going to do? There was nothing else to do but escape and get a different room and nurse this damn hangover until I could think straight.

I slowly lifted his arm and slid like a ninja out of the bed. I was careful not to make a noise. As soon as I was free from his grip, he rolled onto his back and breathed heavily.

‘Please don’t wake up, please don’t wake up, please don’t wake up.’ I silently prayed to myself as I packed up my things, threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and escaped through the door. I slowly closed it behind me. I let out a breath.

With my shoes in hand, and my bag slung over my shoulder I bolted down to the front desk to book another room. The front desk clerk raised an eyebrow at her. “Ms. Carter, you already have a room, 1501.”

“Yes, I know, but I need a different room.” How could I explain to this middle-aged woman that I just fucked my boss and left him in my room and needed to avoid the awkwardness of waking up together.

“If it’s a matter of switching rooms, I would be happy to help you.” She smiled at me. I knew she was trying to be helpful, but her helpfulness was getting on my nerves.

I leaned over the tall counter and motioned for her to get closer. “Please don’t judge me when I say this, but last night I slept with my boss unintentionally and now he’s still asleep in 1501 and now I need another room.”

“Oh.” Was all the woman said, she quickly typed on the computer and presented a new key to me, 1223.

“Thank you so much.” I wanted to kiss her. But like last night, kissing her would get me into more trouble.

I took the key, walked to the elevators, and punched the up button. I looked down at my phone. I expected a message from Sophia about how she would want all of the details about the man that she sent up to my room. But my new messages were empty.

My heart sank. In my drunken state, instead of messaging my bestie Sophia Moore, I messaged Ogden Moore. This was completely on me; Sophia didn’t have a single thing to do with Ogden showing up to my door.

The elevator dinged and I entered the empty lift. As the elevator rose to my floor, I thought about how this horrible accident started. It started a few years ago when the class president made a group chat with all of the people from my graduating class. It was nice catching up with some of my old friends that I lost touch with over the years. But there was one number that popped up that didn’t have a name, I reached out and asked who it was so I could save it.

Only two words came back, Ogden Moore. He had the same exact last name as my bestie, they were cousins. I would sometimes look at that short message and think back to the hottie from my school days. I crushed hard on him, he was so cute, he had longer hair then and he always wore his letter jacket. I never made a move though. I was too shy and didn’t want to embarrass myself.

I threw my bags on the chair in my room and flopped down on the bed. I was in a pickle; I would need to sneak out of here when I headed to the meeting that was scheduled for later today. But for now, I was going to sleep this hangover away. I should get up and get a glass of water and Tylenol, but I was too tired to do that. I quickly drifted off to sleep trying to forget that this faux pass ever happened.

-----

My alarm started its siren sound, my feeble attempts at turning it off were futile. I sat upright and held the phone up and clicked stop. Those couple hours of sleep left me feeling better than I did before. I laid in the bed staring at the identical ceiling as my other room. How could I have done something like that…with my boss? I asked myself.

I jumped in the shower to wash the shame away. There were slight bruises on my inner thighs, his fingerprints graced my legs. Evidence of our time together. There was one thing I could say about our time together last night, it was passionate. Flashes of the night came to surface, and I relived them in the shower.

My hand went to my clit, and I started to rub, thinking of how his possessive hands touched me. How he pulled me to him. Yanked my legs open to make space for him to enter with his big cock. The sensation of him sawing in and out of me, hitting all the right spots. An orgasm wracked through my body, my juices flowing out of me to the drain. A wasted orgasm to the sewers.

I applied a thin layer of makeup and the clothes that I had intended for this important meeting today. It was an important day; I was attending a meeting with my manager to discuss additional funding for the convertible bond project at Roseforce Inc.

We really messed up, the value of the project dropped way below the stop-loss line and the company was threatening to sell off its assets to at least regain something that they lost. We couldn’t have that, so my company jumped into action for this emergency meeting. The investment department was here to smooth out everything. That’s why I was here. I was going to make everything better, along with my bestie.

We met in the lobby, Sophia was angry that she had to be there, “you know, we shouldn’t be here.” She glared at me, “Mr. Clarke was adamant that Roseforce didn’t need to worry and that eventually would regain its value. It would just need some time and he said he would get with the person who wrote up the contract and discuss options. But the contract has his damn name on it. He’s the one that wrote it up!” Sophia threw her hands in the air.

George Clarke was their manager; he was as incompetent as they came. That’s why I was here, he couldn’t make good decisions, so I had to step in and present information for him so he could save face with Roseforce.

Sophia was my right-hand girl; she had the charisma to charm the pants off all the people in the meeting and smooth things over. I was the information girl, the one that showed the facts to the company and then Sophia would jump in and get the group laughing if the numbers were bad. Mr. Clarke just stood on the side until it came time to shake the hands of the people in the meeting. It wasn’t the first time that I had to save a contract for the company, and I know it’s not going to be the last.

The elevator dinged and my eyes darted to the door as it slid open. A familiar group of people exited the lift, and I ducked behind Sophia. I peeked over her shoulder as I watched Ogden walk out of with his entourage. They were chatting around him, but he remained quiet, listening.

Ogden was out of the hotel robe and in his sharp suite that hugged just right showing off the muscular body underneath. That same body that I had my hands all over only a few hours ago. I watched as he walked through the lobby, his stone-cold demeanor that he normally wore was put in place, the only difference was that his eyebrows were drawn together. Did he look upset?

When he was walking with his group at the company, he barely uttered a few words. He was smart, he only spoke when absolutely necessary. So, when he did say something everyone listened. It was as if he could control everything around him with just a whisper of a word.

A flash went through my brain, when his tongue made its way up from my navel to between my breasts. I bit my lip, the fire that had been extinguished by Ogden last night, started to reignite just by the site of him.

“Damn, if he wasn’t my cousin, I would jump him.” Sophia watched Ogden make his way across the lobby. “Hey! What are you doing?” Sophia turned and looked at me hiding behind her.

“Uhh.” I didn’t know what to say, my eyes were still glued to Ogden, praying that he didn’t turn and look our way.

My luck ran out, just as he was a few feet away, he stopped and looked over at us. His eyebrows furrowed even further. He leaned toward his secretary who was taking notes, “Find out who stayed in room 1501 last night.” Even though it was a whisper, Sophia and I could hear it.

Sophia trying to be helpful, at the same time screwing me over shouted, “Hey, Will stayed in that room last night.” She was pointing at me crouched behind her.

“Damn.” I whispered.
