Chapter 94 NOTHING

Chapter 94 NOTHING
Aiden

I caught her hands before she could pull away, my thumb brushing over the bandages wrapped around them.

I wished they could heal faster so I could lace my fingers through hers properly again.

"I made breakfast," I said.

"Already?" She sounded disappointed.

"I woke up early for nothing," she mumbled, pouting as she started walking down the hallway.

I didn't think much of what she meant and just followed her, eyes glued to the way her ass giggled under that tiny dress. Each step made the hem ride higher up her thighs, testing every once of self-control I had left.

She spun around so fast that I almost walked into her.

"Jesus christ, Aiden, can you not look at me like I'm food?"

I dragged in a slow breath, letting my gaze drag down her body and back up. "Maybe you should have thought about that before walking around with nothing underneath that dress."

Her eyes narrowed into thin slits. "You did that on purpose."

"Did what?"

"When you went shopping," she accused, crossing her arms over her chest when she noticed my eyes on them again. "You bought everything except underwear!"

I shrugged the corner of my mouth, twitching. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Liar."

She refused to turn around again, staying rooted in place until I gave in and led the way.

I helped her climb one of the stools before serving her.

She leaned forward, inhaled, then took her first bite and let out a soft moan.

Fuck.

She had been messing with my head since the second I opened that door.

When she lifted the last forkful toward her mouth, I grabbed her wrist , turned it toward me, and then took the bite myself.

She frowned. "Why didn't you take more for yourself?"

"It tastes better from your fork."

She scrunched her nose. "Thief."

She slid off the stool on her own and started gathering the plates. "What were you discussing with Roman last night?"

I leaned back against the counter. "Do you need me to tell you when you overhead everything?"

Her cheeks flushed again.

"You saw me?"

"And here I thought you wanted me to see you?"

She hit my chest hard.

"Bastard. You were supposed to pretend you didn't see me."

I clutched the spot, feigning pain. "Your hits are getting stronger."

She shot me a glare and then walked to the sink.

I followed her and stopped behind her, close enough that my chest brushed her back.

"You should give him time," she said, turning on the faucet. "He'll come around."

"Are you worried about me?" I asked, leaning down and wrapping my arms around her waist.

She stiffened at first, then slowly relaxed into me.

"You wish."

I buried my nose in her neck, inhaling her in.

"About that day," my voice lowered, "when you fell down the stairs."

I felt her freeze instantly.

"I did hate the idea of you having my child," I admitted. "But I would never have pushed you to get rid of it."

The silence that followed stretched for too long.

When I didn't have my memories, the thought that I might have pushed her down to kill our baby shattered me. I knew I didn't do it, but having her accuse me of it was heartbreaking.

"I am glad he survived," I added, brushing my lips against her neck.

She sighed, her hands coming up to hold my forearms where they were wrapped around her.

"Yeah. Our son is a fighter."

Our? Not my. Our!!

She said OUR!

That single word made my heart leap.

She turned slowly in my arms to face me.

"I know," she whispered. "I just wanted to hurt you."

"And I deserved it."

Her fingers came up between us, brushing over the rough stubble along my jaw, her nails grazing just enough to make my breath hitch. Then she traced the scar on my face, her thumb lingering there before they climbed higher to the one at my temple.

"Your scars are beautiful," she said.

"Are they?"

I leaned into her touch, closing my eyes.

I love it when she touches me like that. It made me feel like she owned me, too.

When I opened my eyes, she was watching me intently.

The space between our mouths disappeared breath by breath until only a whisper of air remained.

"Can I kiss you?" I asked, my voice low and rough.

Her lips curved into a slow smirk.

"Asking before you do," she murmured, her hands sliding behind my neck, "makes it less hot."

Then she pulled me down, her lips pressing against mine.

For half a second, I froze before my hand slid to her waist, pulling her in as I kissed her back, slow at first, then deeper.

Fuck. I had almost forgotten how she tasted.

Her fingers tangled in my hair, tugging, and the soft, needy sound she made into my mouth shot straight to my cock.

I had missed this. Missed her and the way she fit against me like she had been made to.

When I finally broke the kiss, she whimpered in protest at the loss of contact and moved to kiss me again.

I stopped her gently, hand on her jaw, forehead resting against hers and both of us breathing hard.

"What?" She whispered, half angry, half desperate.

"Roman is here."

"He usually wakes up late," she murmured, her impatient hands already trailing down my chest.

My jaw tightened as I gripped them.

"The doctor said no sex."

She laughed softly, slipping one hand free to palm me through my pants.

"I guess your dick didn't get the memo."

"Leah..." I warned but my hips jerked into her touch anyway.

She looked up at me through her lashes, fully aware she had me in the palm of he hands.

"I'm only going to touch you," she promised, licking her bottom lip.

I should stop her now before we go far, but... fuck it. She had already wrecked me.

My fingers gripped the edge of the sink as she slipped her hands into my pants, pulled me out and wrapped her warm hand around my aching length.

The first slow stroke ripped a groan from my throat.

"Look at me," she whispered, tugging hard at my hair until my eyes snapped open.

The way she was watching me, flushed, pupils blown, lips parted nearly undid me.

"You need to see the way you're looking at me right now," she purred, stroking me harder, thumb gliding over the slick head.

Fuck. Where did she learn to talk like that?

"I bet it's not as dirty as the way you're looking at me right now," I rasped back.

Shd smirked wickedly then I kissed her again, slow, deep, trying to steady myself and failing.

The coil in my gut wound tighter and tighter and...

"Mummy!" Roman screamed from down the hallway.

We both stepped apart immediately like guilty teenagers.

I dragged a hand down my face, breathing hard as she pushed her hair behind her ears.

"Mummy!" He screamed, angrier now, his tiny footsteps thundering down the hallway toward the kitchen.

She moved fast, reaching the doorway just as Roman appeared.

I kept my back to them as I tried to adjust myself.

"Mummy, why didn't you wake me up?" He demanded.

"You were sleeping, and I didn't want to disturb you."

"You should wake me up next time," he said.

"I will. Are you hungry?"

"Yes."

As she led him further inside, his eyes landed on me.

"What's wrong with him?"

"I don't know," she replied with a chuckle.
