Chapter 155: The Alien Commander Arrives!
Chapter 155: The Alien Commander Arrives!
Red lights flashed wildly in the corridor.
The alarm was so piercing it made people's heads throb.
Ryan didn't bother with the corridor gates at all. He just smashed straight through three alloy walls along the way with his body, forcing open a straight path.
Osiris and War Ghost led their people right behind him.
The moment they rushed back into the core hall, everyone froze.
The dark blue portal vortex overhead had been forced open to a 3000-foot diameter.
The crystals at the portal's edge were running at overload, letting out ear-splitting shrieks.
The blue-white glare was so bright people couldn't keep their eyes open.
A massive thing was slowly pushing its way out from deep within the swirling light.
It was the Reaper's bow.
Dark red energy circuits flowed across the pure black armor plating. Just this small exposed section was several times larger than the Abyss.
It descended like a space beast ready to devour everything, bringing suffocating pressure with it.
The moment the warship's head emerged, countless secondary gun turrets on its belly all rotated out.
No aiming.
No warning.
Just full coverage fire.
Thick high-heat beams rained down into the hall like a storm.
"Find cover! Raise shields!" Osiris roared into the comm channel.
The Demon-Hunter Corps reacted fast. Front-line soldiers immediately slammed heavy tower shields into the ground, rear soldiers backed them up, instantly forming a steel defensive line.
The beams swept across.
The high heat not only melted the floor but instantly ignited the metal dust in the air, turning the entire hall into a sea of fire.
Grooves were plowed into the thick metal floor.
The front-line cavalry's tower shields turned red-hot on the surface. Several soldiers at the center of the fire were thrown back with their shields, slamming hard into the wall as their power armor's life support systems screamed warnings.
"Fire back!" Osiris swung his blade. "Heavy gunners, blast those gun barrels off for me!"
Over a thousand Demon-Hunter Corps raised their high-energy particle cannons and focused fire on the bow in midair.
Blue beams merged into one sheet, hammering hard against the Reaper's black armor.
When the dust cleared.
Only a shallow white mark remained on the armor surface. Not even a paint chip came off.
"What the hell kind of turtle shell is that!" War Ghost swung his hammer to smash a flying boulder. "Our heavy cannons are just tickling it!"
Nicholas clutched his briefcase, rolling and crawling to hide behind a broken support pillar, his fingers flying across the keyboard.
"Commander! That's degenerate matter! Armor made from compressed stellar material! Conventional weapons can't break through it at all!" Nicholas yelled at the top of his lungs. "It's locking onto the physical clamps in the fortress's middle layer! Once docking succeeds, it'll drain all the energy from the entire lunar base and blast Earth to dust!"
Ryan looked up at the massive thing slowly descending.
The countdown on his retina kept ticking.
Back on Earth, Ella's temperature kept rising.
He had no time to mess around with these alien bugs.
Ryan pushed off hard with his feet.
"Boom!"
The high-strength alloy floor collapsed into a deep crater.
He transformed into a purple-gold streak of light, stepping on falling debris in midair, charging straight toward the Reaper's bow through the rain of secondary cannon beams.
The warship's intelligent defense system immediately locked onto this ultra-high-energy reaction source.
Directly below the bow, a main cannon slowly descended, its barrel aimed straight at Ryan in midair.
Crimson light gathered frantically at the cannon's mouth.
The surrounding space twisted violently from the high-energy reaction's scorching heat.
"Commander! That's the main cannon!" Osiris's eyes nearly split with fury. He wanted to rush up to help but was pinned to the ground by secondary cannon fire.
The main cannon roared.
A red beam cut through the entire hall, carrying planet-destroying force, directly pulling the air along its path into absolute vacuum.
Ryan didn't dodge.
He held his broken sword horizontally across his chest.
True Dragon Tyrant Blood boiled completely in his body, his blood vessels rumbling with dragon-like roars.
Purple-gold energy burst from every pore, rapidly condensing and compressing in front of him.
A massive purple-gold dragon head phantom took shape in midair.
The dragon head's scales were clearly visible as it roared and crashed head-on into the world-destroying main cannon beam.
"BOOM—!"
Two terrifying energies collided violently in midair.
The shockwave spread in rings, scraping a layer off the walls around the hall. The Demon-Hunter Corps were pressed down by the blast, unable to lift their heads, only able to hug the ground.
Ryan hovered in midair, both hands bracing the broken sword.
The red beam pounded endlessly against the dragon head shield.
Extreme Dao energy was being consumed like crazy.
Ryan's arm muscles bulged high, his skin surface cracking with fine bloody splits from bearing the extreme physical pressure.
The purple-gold blood had barely seeped out before being vaporized by the surrounding high temperature.
His bones made friction sounds from the unbearable load, and he was pushed backward by this terrifying force.
Muscle fibers jumped back and forth between tearing and healing.
"Hold it!"
Ryan let out a roar from his throat.
The True Dragon Tyrant Blood in his body erupted again, purple-gold light illuminating the entire hall.
Not only did the dragon head shield not shatter, it actually pushed forward against the beam.
"These bugs!" Ryan gripped the sword hilt tight, veins bulging on the back of his hands. "How dare they touch my daughter!"
He twisted his wrists sharply.
The dragon head shield that had been defending instantly disintegrated.
The purple-gold energy didn't dissipate but followed the broken sword's guidance.
Sword energy flowed upstream.
It directly tore open the red main cannon beam, following the barrel and driving hard into the Reaper's interior.
"Burst."
Ryan spat out a word.
The Extreme Dao energy poured into the warship's interior detonated instantly.
"BOOM BOOM BOOM—!"
A series of muffled explosions came from inside the Reaper's massive bow.
Then the supposedly indestructible degenerate matter armor was forcibly torn open from the inside, countless green flames and high-dimensional metal fragments spraying from the breach.
The main cannon was blown into a twisted mess.
The massive physical recoil from the explosion made the giant ship shudder violently.
Its descending momentum was forcibly cut off, the massive hull lurching upward uncontrollably, stuck tight at the portal's exit.
"It's stuck! Docking program interrupted!" Nicholas watched the screens fill with frantic error codes and slapped his thigh in excitement. "The Commander blew out its main cannon!"
But the crisis wasn't over.
The Reaper's massive size stuck in the middle of the portal caused the already extremely overloaded space folding zone to completely lose balance.
The dark blue vortex began twisting violently.
Black cracks tore open in the space around the hall.
Violent spatial storms poured out from the cracks, raging through the fortress interior like invisible blades.
