Chapter 175 : Take It or Leave It

Chapter 175 : Take It or Leave It
Cole.

In the next second, my phone dropped to the ground, and the room went silent. My eyes locked with Levi's as they now glowed a bright red color, and my wings started to lift as horns started to grow on my head, claws and sharp fangs started to form on my body.

"Where is she?" I could barely speak more than a whisper, but Levi just smiled at me.

"Cole?" Chase called from behind me.

In the blink of an eye, I lunged straight ahead. Lifting Levi up and slamming him into the back of the cell, pinning him in place. All the guards rushed over at the loud sound, as Chase and Nicolas stood by the door.

"WHERE IS SHE?" I shouted at him. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?"

His mouth shut not speaking, then I slammed him to the ground before gripping around his neck, almost running out of patience. The lights in the hall began to burst out, making Chase and Nicolas' heads snap around as the ground seemed to tremble. Then I took out a claw and dug it into Levi's chest, blood gushing out, and I dragged them down deep, making him scream out.

"WHERE IS SHE?" I shouted again. I lifted my covered bloodied hand up to give another blow, but my hand was caught by an arm.

"Cole," Jesse muttered as he tried to pull me away.

I tried to fight my brother, gritting my teeth to try and sink my claws into Levi again, but another pair of arms grabbed me, and I realized it was Taylor.

"I'm going to fucking kill him," I muttered, anger sweeping through my body as they both struggled to hold me back.

"Cole, you need to calm down."

"WHERE DID YOU TAKE HER?" I shouted, ignoring Jesse and Taylor and the two of them making eye contact.

On the other side, Levi was spitting blood on the ground as he groaned, but he still did not speak, he merely cracked a smile.

"I'm going to kill him," I repeated, gritting my teeth.

"I know, but you can't do it here," Taylor said, and I finally stopped fighting back. As I turned my head to see the Nephilim circling around, their hands set on their weapons, as I caught Chase's warning gaze from outside of the cell.

"What's going on?" Jesse asked, and my gaze went back to the injured demon I had wounded.

"They took Rayline," I said, and Jesse's eyes widened. "While I was gone... they took her." A snarl of rage escaped from my lips. "I'm going to tear him to pieces."

"I know you want to, but the only way you can find her is by talking to him."

My body didn't move, and both Jesse and Taylor looked at each other before pulling their hands away from me.

Chase then stepped into the cell, and he took a step closer to Levi. "You stabbed his heart," he told me as he placed his hand over it. He began to heal the area, and then he and I locked eyes. "He is going to die before we get the answers."

My mouth did not utter a word, and Chase got back to his feet.

"Now," Jesse began as he walked over to Levi, "you have to tell us where you are keeping her. Or we will let him do what he wants with you." He gestured towards me with his head.

"You want to know where she is?" Levi said with a smirk. "I would be happy to take you to her."

"No," Jesse stated. "We are not just going to let you go, so you are going to have to tell us."

"I can't do that." He shook his head.

"And why not?" Taylor asked.

"Because my boss wants her, he wants that human girl. I will take you to where she is, that's what I was sent to do."

"You are taking her to make sure I want to go with you," I said, growling at him.

"Now you are catching on to it."

"And what if I shred your body alive? Then will you talk?"

He did not even flinch at my threat. "I'm already prepared to die. Besides, I have already cast a telepathic spell with Silas. If I die, or if you don't let me take you to them, I will send a signal to him, and he will go with it. So, threatening me is a waste of your time." The corner of his lips curled up tauntingly. "And you don't really have that on your side, do you."

Seething with anger, I let out a breath. "Should not the chain nullify the spell?"

"Not if it was not him who cast it. It is not his power at work," Nicolas explained from behind.

"You heard him, we can't threaten to kill him or leave him here," Taylor told me.

"There has to be a way to get around the spell, right?" It was Chase's turn to ask.

The three of them then looked at me, who remained silent in thought.

"Cole?" Jesse asked, and my eyes flicked to him.

"We don't have time." I swallowed hard. "We should let him take me."

"No," Chase states. "It's a trap. There is no way I'm letting you—"

"We will be too late," I cut him off, and Chase fell silent. "The rune... will kill her if we don't do something now. I have to go with him."

"We don't even know if he is telling the truth."

Jesse's eyes shifted to Taylor, and a wild cat-like grin spread across his face. "Taylor." His eyes lowered towards Levi. "If you may."

The corners of Taylor's mouth lifted for a moment before he lowered them, and he stepped forward. Levi's eyes widened as Taylor stood over him, his expression cold and unreadable. Taylor took a breath as he stuffed his hands into his pockets casually.

"Wait—" Levi's body jumped as his head jerked against the wall. Taylor's eyes narrowed before turning red, and Levi's legs began to spasm. A groan of pain hissed as Taylor's head slowly tilted. Levi's eyes began to roll back as blood began to drip from his nose.

I just watched in silence as Taylor used his power, a power unmatched even by my own. It was at times like this that I remembered why the demons feared him so much... how he could tear through their minds and take away information so easily.

A few moments passed before Taylor straightened up, his eyes returning to their dark brown color, and Levi panted as he fell to the side, relief filling his face.

"He's already given his information. He's telling the truth." Taylor turned to all of us. "He doesn't know who's behind all of this, and he's been casting telepathic spells with Silas. He doesn't really know the location where they are keeping her. He was supposed to take us to the meeting place where the other demons would bring us to her."

I heard Jesse swear inwardly as I stared at each of them. "I have to go."

Annoyance moved Jesse's jaw. "We will go with you."

"Not part of the deal," Levi blurted out as he sat up, wiping the blood from his nose. Jesse's eyes reddened as he turned around. He walked over to Levi and lifted his collar to pin him against the wall.

"You think only you have access to ancient magic?" Jesse growled at him. "If they take off with her, I will drag you to hell, and when that happens, you will wish your body had let you die." Levi's smile finally faded. "We leave, or I keep my promise."

"Alright. But," he said as he glanced at all of us, "no Nephilim."

"Agreed," I agreed from behind. "What about Nicolas?" Taylor asked.

"No Nephilim, or no deal," Levi said.

"We will keep watch," Chase said quietly.

"Nick?" I called out to him, and he walked into the cell.

"Yeah?"

"Take off the chains." I turned toward the door. "We're heading out."
