Chapter 72—I'll Make Up For My Mistakes
Astrid’s POV:
We were driving down the road. He didn’t speak a word, just kept driving smoothly on the long road.
We got to our home. It was a really big house. It looked decorated from the outside.
He got out of the car, and I followed him. He unlocked the door and went inside, and so did I.
As I entered, I saw that the house was really decorated. There were balloons and flowers used.
“I expect you to remove all this crap tomorrow,” he said coldly and went to a room.
Crap?
This seems to be the most touching thing to gift at someone’s wedding. He really called my mother’s gift crap?
I sighed anyway and went to take water.
As I made my way to the living room, I was confused. Will we sleep in the same room? Or different?
What if he embarrasses me if I go to the same room? That really wouldn’t be the best start for us.
I went to another room and found that my stuff was of course in the room he went to. I really need to change from this dress. This was… way too uncomfortable to sleep in.
I slowly went to his room.
Should I knock?
What if he’s changing?
I should really knock.
I knocked two times and finally made my way inside.
He was lying on the bed with his eyes wide open. He was staring at the ceiling. His stare was so intense that I myself saw if there was something this interesting on the ceiling.
There was nothing, bruh.
I took my dress from the suitcase and went towards the door.
“I think we have a bathroom here,” he said.
I looked at him and the bathroom door.
Yes, we have but… I am sleeping in another room.
Anyway, I went to the bathroom so that he doesn’t feel like I am ignoring him.
I changed into loose pajamas and a top. I really don’t like anything else at night.
I came out and kept my dress in the suitcase. Then I started going out, when I heard him sigh, rather loudly, as if he meant me to hear it.
“You really wanna act like this?” he questioned.
“Act like what?” I looked at him.
He got up and came to me. “We got married, if you don’t know”
“I of course know”
“Then maybe you don’t know that married couples sleep in the same room?”
“I know”
“Then what’s your problem?”
Um… what’s my problem?
“Nothing”
“Then come,” he said and sat on the bed. I hesitantly went and laid down beside him.
He laid down too and hugged me. I was taken aback.
“Shocked?” he asked.
“Yes… you said you hate me”
“I didn’t say that I don’t”
I was confused but he pulled me closer, and my head was buried in his chest. He covered his hands around me protectively.
It was not hate.
I felt secured and… loved.
I closed my eyes as I promised myself to be a good wife.
I woke up the next day and found that he was not there. Then I remembered that I am not just a girl but a wife now!
I looked at the time. 8—45 AM.
So much for a good wife, huh?
I hurriedly went downstairs. He was using his phone and sitting on the couch of the living room.
I don’t know what I should do as a wife and I can’t even ask him.
“Coffee, will you?” he spoke, his eyes still fixed on his phone.
“Y-Yeah” I replied and went to the kitchen.
I made my best coffee and went to the living room. I kept it on the table in front of him.
He took it and I stayed to know if he likes it or not.
“You still know how I like it?” he questioned.
I smiled. “Yes”
“A lot has changed, and so it is my taste in coffee. I hate this one now. I like it with no sugar” he kept it on the table.
I sighed and took it over to the kitchen. I drank it. I can’t waste it, dude.
I made another one for him, this time without sugar.
I kept it on the table, and he drank it without another word. I went back to my room and took a bath. His words were still running in my mind.
‘A lot has changed’
‘I hate you’
‘I didn’t say that I don’t hate you’
But this doesn’t feel like hate, Noah.
Even if you just insulted my coffee, but this isn’t hate.
I know it isn’t and you are terribly wrong if you think that pointing a mistake in my coffee makes me think that you hate me.
I loved you, Noah. No, no. I love you Noah and this is a very good reason to prove that I know you.
I know you are hurt… I did hurt you. So, let it be like this for now. I don’t deserve your love, I know that. But you are such a good person that you still aren’t showing any hate.
I love you Noah and I will make up for my mistakes.
