Chapter 314 Alton Saved Olivia
Chapter 314 Alton Saved Olivia
I don't know where he learned these moves, but he's getting better and better at it.
Nora couldn't last half an hour under his touch and confessed everything. "It feels good."
"I can make you feel even better in a bit..." Steven leaned down and kissed her red lips.
"You need to work on your temper," Nora said while enduring it, her voice so soft it could melt.
"Then you need to satisfy me."
"Satisfy what?"
"I need satisfaction every night," Steven's voice was husky. "That's how a man stays in a good mood."
Nora felt like she'd walked into a trap. He kissed her until she was dizzy, sinking into a sweet abyss...
At the bar.
Olivia slowly sipped her drink.
Her hand propped up her chin, her whole body relaxed and lazy, incredibly charming and attractive.
To say she wasn't lonely would be a lie - she was actually very lonely.
During the New Year, everyone was getting together, lights glowing in every home, and she alone had to wander outside aimlessly.
She had no children.
Her family didn't feel like family.
Her closest friend, her sister Nora, had already started her own family.
When she was busy, life felt full and happy, but during holidays, that loneliness followed her like a shadow.
Maybe watching others celebrate, she felt a bit envious too.
"Alone? Want to have a drink together?" A young man came over, standing right next to Olivia, his eyes suggestively checking out her curvy figure. "Isn't it lonely drinking alone this late at night?"
Olivia glanced at him and waved him off, meaning she was rejecting his approach and he should go find someone else.
But the man thought she was pretty and wasn't willing to leave just like that. "Did you fight with your boyfriend? Did he dump you?"
"I'm divorced," Olivia answered him.
The man smiled. "Oh, so you're divorced. That's no big deal. You can find someone who loves you again."
Most men, when they see a divorced woman, automatically assume she's sad and needs comfort, then try to take advantage of that comfort to get her into bed.
These types generally think divorced women are lonely, need affection, and don't require commitment, buzzing around her like flies with their opportunistic mindset.
Olivia despised these types to her core and said coldly, "How is that any of your business?"
"I could be that person who loves you," the man said, about to get handsy.
Olivia wasn't drunk. She'd only had a few sips, just slightly tipsy. She pushed the man away and tried to leave.
"Don't go, miss..." The man blocked her way.
Olivia looked at him. "If you keep touching me, I'm calling the police."
"Quite the temper." The man moved closer, using his drunkenness as an excuse to grab her arm. "So what if I touch you?"
Olivia's eyes turned cold. She lifted her foot and kicked him right between the legs.
The man wasn't prepared and got kicked square on. His whole face turned green as he yelled, "Someone come here!"
Several of the man's friends ran over, trying to grab Olivia.
"Stop."
A pleasant voice came through the air.
Everyone turned to see Alton standing under the lights with several bodyguards, his deep eyes filled with coldness.
He looked refined and gentle, but that overwhelming presence spread silently, making everyone there afraid to meet his eyes.
"Who are you?" the man asked Alton.
"I'm her man," Alton answered expressionlessly.
The man automatically assumed Alton was her ex-husband and didn't dare make a scene anymore. He apologized a couple times. "Sorry."
The group avoided the bodyguards and fled the bar like they were escaping.
Alton walked over in a few steps and wrapped his arm around Olivia's slim waist. "Are you okay?"
Olivia caught her breath slightly, her mind clear. "Alton? What are you doing here?"
"I came for you. Do you believe me?" Alton looked at her.
"Came for me? How did you know I was at Harbor Island?" Olivia was confused.
Alton said casually, "You posted a beach photo on Facebook this morning. There was a tower in it - that's Harbor Island's landmark."
Olivia hadn't expected that a casual Facebook post would be recognized by Alton.
"I arrived this afternoon and have been following you, but you didn't notice me." After arriving, Alton had checked into the same hotel as Olivia.
He wanted to surprise Olivia, so he didn't call her, wanting to see her expression when she discovered him.
But Olivia didn't notice him at all, which was really disappointing.
He held her and looked at her.
This time, she didn't avoid his gaze, just said, "Let me buy you a drink."
To thank him for saving her just now.
"Too many people here. Let's go to a booth." Alton led her to the booth he'd reserved.
Olivia flipped through the drink menu. "What do you want?"
"Vodka."
Olivia nodded, called the waiter over, ordered vodka for Alton, and a mojito for herself.
"Ordering such a low-proof drink - are you guarding against me?" Alton watched her finish ordering, his eyes deepening.
Olivia smiled, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Yes, you're a big bad wolf. If I don't guard against you, who should I guard against?"
Mainly because she'd almost been taken advantage of earlier.
Olivia wouldn't get herself drunk in a place like this.
Seeing Olivia smile, Alton smiled too, in a pretty good mood, and downed a glass of vodka.
Olivia was stunned. "Drinking like that, aren't you afraid of getting drunk?"
"Don't I have you? If I get drunk, you'll take care of me?" He leaned closer to look at her clean face.
Olivia's face reddened slightly. Her fingers touched the rim of her glass as she said lightly, "Keep dreaming."
Alton laughed out loud, his hot breath falling on her slender neck. "Still so heartless when you talk. You really are the woman I like - you've got personality."
"Move away a bit." Olivia couldn't stand his hot breath. Her fingertip pressed against his thin lips, pushing him back a little.
Alton stuck out his tongue and suggestively licked her fingertip.
Olivia pulled her hand back like she'd been electrocuted.
Alton burst out laughing, in the best mood he'd been in for a long time. He leaned forward, getting even closer to her. "I specially came all the way to Harbor Island for you. Tell me, do we have the fate to take things further here?"
"No." Olivia shook her head. Though lonely, she didn't want to seek love when lonely.
Her mind was still clear. She pulled out several hundred-dollar bills from her bag and put them on the table. "These few hundred dollars should be enough to buy you a vodka. I'm leaving now. Goodbye."
She turned and left the bar.
Just as she reached the door, she felt her stomach churning. She threw up into a trash can.
All the alcohol she'd drunk that evening came back up.
She'd been vomiting constantly during her previous pregnancy, and later developed gastroesophageal reflux. Whenever she ate something that irritated her stomach even slightly, it would all come back up.
After throwing up, Olivia felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She supported herself and slowly walked away in her high heels.
Just as she opened the taxi door, someone grabbed her waist.
Olivia looked up - it was Alton again. His handsome face looked grim. "Throwing up like that, where do you think you're going?"
"I'm going to the hospital." She was an adult who could take care of herself.
Alton frowned tightly. "Is showing weakness really that hard for you?"
Just now in the bar, she'd already started having stomach cramps, but she endured it to say goodbye to him, holding on until she got to the bar entrance before allowing herself to throw up, refusing to say a single soft word to him.
"I'll handle my own problems," Olivia still pushed him away, like every time he got close to her, she would push him away.
"Are you two getting in or not?" The driver was getting impatient and turned to ask them.
"Yes." Olivia lifted her foot to get in the car.
Alton grabbed her.
"Alton?" Olivia frowned slightly.
"No." After Alton told the taxi driver, he pulled her completely out of the car.
The taxi driver looked annoyed. "If you're not getting in, say so earlier. You're wasting my time."
Olivia had already been pulled aside by Alton.
She frowned at the handsome man. "Are you deliberately going against me? My stomach hurts and you won't let me go to the hospital?"
"I'll take you." Alton's eyes were deep. He grabbed her arm and pulled her into his car.
Last time in Suncrest City, he had a Mercedes worth several million dollars.
This time at Harbor Island, he was driving a Mulsanne worth over four million dollars.
Olivia curled up in the passenger seat and smiled lightly. "Mr. Bridges has luxury cars everywhere. Truly a rich man."
Alton ignored her, just glanced at her pale face and asked softly, "Does your stomach hurt a lot?"
"It's okay." Her voice was casual, but her hand clutched her stomach, sweat beading on her forehead - clearly it hurt badly.
"If it hurts a lot, don't hold it in. Tell me, so we don't delay treatment." Alton sped up.
Olivia said lightly, "No, stomach problems are like this. When they flare up, it hurts a lot, but once the pain passes, it's fine."
Alton didn't listen to her. He called his assistant and had him contact the hospital in advance to prepare a gurney.
At the hospital.
Alton opened the passenger door, lifted the pale-faced Olivia out in one motion, gently placed her on the gurney, and pushed her into the hospital.
Olivia was in so much pain, curled up, sometimes feeling like she was in heaven, sometimes in hell, she couldn't even tell what time it was anymore.
"Doctor, please check what's wrong with her quickly." Alton urged the doctor, his brow furrowed.
"Mr. Bridges, please don't worry. Step aside for a moment and let me examine this lady." The doctor examined Olivia. "It's acute gastroenteritis."
"How do we treat it?" Alton saw Olivia in such pain, his heart clenching along with her.
"I'll prescribe a few IV drips. She should be fine after finishing them." The doctor went to write the prescription.
The IV was hung, and Olivia's stomach pain quickly eased.
She was exhausted and fell asleep.
When she woke up again, it was already light outside.
The IV had been removed, but Alton hadn't left. He sat on the hospital room sofa, wearing last night's light-colored shirt, eyes closed, his features deep and refined.
When he wasn't talking, he looked quite restrained.
When he talked, he was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
She hadn't expected such severe stomach pain to be cured with just a couple bottles of medicine. Olivia looked at the ceiling, feeling somewhat emotional.
"You're awake." Alton woke up, removed the thin blanket from himself, walked over and asked her, "Does your stomach still hurt?"
