Chapter 206 He Just Likes Her
Olivia's voice came from outside the glass door, "Nora, are you in there? This door has a passcode lock. I can't get in."
Nora walked over to open the glass door and told Olivia the password, while checking on her condition, "Olivia, are you over your cold?"
"Yeah, it was just something I had to get through." Olivia walked into the company and saw that the shelves were already neatly arranged. "You have got everything done?"
"Yes, Steven and Philip both helped." Nora didn't mention registering for divorce with Steven - maybe they wouldn't go through with it after all.
"Looks really good." Olivia put down her luggage and took out her laptop.
"Olivia, how did things go in Regal City?"
"Finally worked it out." Olivia took off her coat. "The goods will be delivered to the company soon."
"Good."
"If you have time, you can start promoting your store. I opened one too and have been organizing it lately." Olivia was running supplies while maintaining the online business.
"Okay, I'll look into how to do promotion tonight." Nora agreed, then asked, "Olivia, how much did you spend on the goods? Do you have enough money? I have a little here, should I transfer it to you?"
"You keep it for promotion. Olivia has funds now, we'll use them to buy goods first and settle accounts at the end of the year." Olivia had over 800,000 dollars on hand. She'd already spent over 400,000 on goods, and the warehouse still wasn't full.
She still needed to keep buying. Once they finished buying, they wouldn't have much left.
They had to keep some funds for promotion and shipping costs. For the next year, they would definitely be tight on money.
By evening, Nora felt exhausted. It seemed like the work was never-ending.
She took a photo of the company and posted it on social media.
[So busy, want to eat something spicy!]
Before long, Steven arrived.
Carrying dinner, he entered the password, "Nora."
Pushing the door open and seeing Olivia was also there, he smiled with a gentle expression, "Olivia."
"Steven, you're here?" Olivia sat in front of her laptop, busy with her own work.
Nora walked over to help him carry things, "That was quick? What did you get for dinner?"
"Got some Mexican food." Steven glanced at her.
All spicy.
Nora paused, blinking, "Did you see my Instagram?"
She said she wanted spicy food, and Steven brought spicy dinner.
"I didn't see it." Steven's eyes held a smile.
Nora was surprised, "So we're on the same wavelength? I said, I wanted spicy food, and you just happened to buy spicy food?"
"Probably." He put the things down.
This connection made her very happy, even happier than if he had seen her Instagram.
"I'm just hungry, I want to eat." She leaned against him, a head shorter than him, like a little dog begging for food.
Steven looked at her with a smile, feeling she had become more clingy.
He liked her this way. He put the food on the table and called Olivia over to eat, "Olivia, time for dinner."
"Okay." Olivia responded and sat across from them, "Are we eating takeout these days?"
"Yes, too busy to cook. Maybe tomorrow - tomorrow we should be able to cook ourselves." Nora picked up a piece of tender beef and looked at Steven, "Will you still come for lunch? If so, I'll make your portion."
"You mean bring a lunchbox to the company?" Steven put on gloves and peeled shrimp for her.
"Yeah." Nora nodded, "We need to get a microwave, rice cooker, fridge, and coffee maker here. We can cook our own meals and make coffee every day. The microwave is for heating food, leftovers can go in the fridge, we can also chill fruit, and keep drinks and ice cream."
Steven listened to her arrangements and smiled, "Sounds nice."
"Of course! Think about it - we spend most of our time at the company every day. Making the environment more convenient is helpful, right?"
"I'll sponsor the appliances." Steven peeled a shrimp and put it in her mouth.
Olivia felt full just watching their interaction.
"No need, I already bought them." Nora showed Steven her phone. She could buy everything they needed. Cooking their own meals was healthy and good for their bodies. She smiled and said, "I also bought two nap beds so we can turn off the lights and rest at noon. Did I arrange everything well?"
She waited for praise.
Steven was amused by her expression.
"Really good. Living with someone who loves to plan like you, they would definitely be well taken care of." Olivia said, glancing at Steven meaningfully.
Steven's lips curved slightly as he looked at Nora.
Her face turned a bit red.
But she really did take good care of people. If Steven became her husband, he would definitely be very happy.
A while later, Amelia walked in looking dejected with her resume.
"What's wrong? Why the long face?" Nora got herself an empty bowl.
Amelia said angrily, "York Development Group rejected me."
"Amelia, you applied to York Development Group?" Olivia handed her gloves to peel shrimp.
Amelia peeled while fuming, "My cousin asked if I offended the York family's second son. She said he personally called the jewelry department to reject me. My god! I don't even know him. Why would he do this to me?"
Steven peeled shrimp, his eyelids twitching slightly.
Amelia cursed, "Doesn't he know blocking someone's career is like ruining their life? What a petty man, he must have been hurt by a woman and now hates beautiful women!"
Steven fell silent.
Nora, beside him, even added, "Probably."
She said this to make Amelia feel better.
Amelia huffed angrily, "Rejecting me for no reason - if I ever meet him, I'll slap him right across the face!"
"I'll help you hit him." Nora chimed in.
Steven wordlessly tugged at her sleeve, "Don't talk while eating."
"Got it," Nora responded, still listening to Amelia.
Amelia lowered her voice, "I heard that this York family's second son never gets close to women. I bet, he's really ugly! Or he has sexual dysfunction; otherwise, why would he hate women? He must have been rejected by women, got hurt, or he's gay!"
"Definitely!" Nora joined in the criticism.
Steven coughed a few times, his expression somewhat awkward, "Stop cursing."
Being cursed by Nora to his face felt complicated.
Calling him ugly was one thing, but saying he had sexual dysfunction - he couldn't take it. Hadn't she experienced it herself?
"This kind of person deserves to be cursed!" Amelia continued, "I really want to punch this guy."
Steven frowned.
Olivia noticed his unusual reaction and turned to ask, "Steven, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, the shrimp is just too spicy, it went down the wrong way." His excuse was reasonable.
