Chapter 195 He... Seems to Be Jealous?
Nora was about to speak when she saw her phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from Philip.
"I need to take this call." Nora let go of Steven and walked back to her room to answer, "Hello?"
"Nora, are you going to the company tomorrow to load containers?" Philip asked.
"Yes, today's containers aren't finished yet."
"Then let me come help you tomorrow. It's Sunday anyway, I'm free and can give you a hand."
"Well... wouldn't that be too much trouble for you?" Nora felt a bit embarrassed to bother Philip.
She didn't notice that Steven had already pushed open her bedroom door and was standing in the doorway, quietly listening to her phone call.
Nora stood in the dim room, her profile particularly clear in the light.
Philip said with a laugh on the phone, "Aren't we friends? Friends should help each other. Besides, those angled containers can't be loaded by one person alone - you need two people working together."
Indeed, loading containers required one person to hold them steady while another hammered.
Nora thought for a moment and agreed, "Thank you, Philip. I'll treat you to dinner after we finish loading the containers."
Hearing the name "Philip," Steven's frown deepened.
Why was she so close to Philip? As soon as he went abroad, she went to find Philip.
"Great, I'll come find you tomorrow," Philip said cheerfully on the phone.
"See you tomorrow." Nora smiled too and hung up.
After hanging up, she noticed Steven was still standing in the doorway with acupuncture needles in his head.
Nora reminded him, "You still have needles in your head. Go lie down. I'm going to take a shower."
It was almost eleven o'clock - time for her to shower and sleep.
She opened the closet door and rummaged for pajamas, completely unaware of the increasingly dark emotions in Steven's eyes.
Nora had just grabbed her pajamas and was about to go shower when Steven suddenly blocked her path.
"You made plans with Philip tomorrow?" Steven's tone was accusatory.
Nora met his gaze, feeling a bit helpless. Steven was always like this - whenever he saw her interacting with other men, he would get upset.
But they were already divorced.
He had no right to control her anymore.
Nora glanced at him calmly and admitted frankly, "Yes."
Steven's expression grew even darker.
"Move aside, I need to shower." Nora lowered her head, trying to go around him.
But Steven grabbed her arm.
"Steven?" Nora frowned, somewhat displeased.
He stared intently at her face, his voice low and cold, "Do you need men that badly? I've barely been gone, and you're already rushing to find someone else?"
Hearing this, Nora found it laughable.
He was the one who wanted the divorce, the one who didn't want her anymore. Now that he saw another man caring for her, he couldn't handle it?
"I'm just one person; there are things I need help with." Nora met his gaze directly, her tone calm.
She really couldn't load the containers by herself. Philip helping her was just friends helping each other. But in Steven's eyes, her interactions with other men became something shameful.
Couldn't she have male friends?
"And Steven, you need to understand - we're already divorced. Even if I meet other people, it has nothing to do with you. I'm single. If I want to date someone, that's fine. You can't control me."
Steven let out a cold laugh, his eyes full of pressure, "Sure enough, I wasn't wrong about you. You just can't stand being alone - you like every man you meet."
After hearing this, Nora actually laughed.
"Yeah, I can't stand being alone. Are you satisfied now?" She simply admitted it, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
After speaking, she tried to pull her hand back and leave.
But Steven tightened his grip, not letting her go.
"Steven, let me go." Nora frowned, her tone already showing impatience.
What right did he have to treat her like this? Since he didn't want her, what right did he have to stop her from interacting with other men?
Steven's expression grew colder and colder. The next second, he pulled her directly onto the bed.
Nora was startled and quickly grabbed the edge of the bed to keep from falling harder.
The tall man pressed close, hugging her from behind.
His lips moved near her earlobe and bit down.
"If you want a man so badly, then I'll give you what you want!" Steven roughly pulled down her jacket zipper.
His movements carried a punishing intent.
He'd only been gone a month, and she was already finding other men?
Steven felt both angry and hurt.
Nora pushed him away, "I don't need a man, get off me!"
"Then why are you seeing other men?"
Steven had wanted to give her freedom, but seeing her close to Philip, his rationality was completely consumed by jealousy.
He simply couldn't accept Nora being with other men.
He pressed her down forcefully - today, he had to make her remember who her real man was!
"Steven, are you crazy?" Nora was shaking with anger, desperately pushing him, "Don't touch me!"
He was the one who initiated the divorce, and now he was treating her like this - what exactly did he want?
Was it possessiveness? He didn't want her, but wouldn't allow anyone else near her either.
"You're not even divorced yet, and you dare to date other men - what do you expect me to think?" Steven's voice was low as he pulled open her jacket and yanked down her pants. Cold air rushed in, and Nora couldn't help but shiver.
"Don't do this, it's so cold!" she shouted, trying to break free, but she couldn't escape at all.
Steven was too strong - she was no match for him.
He pinned her to the bed. Seeing the goosebumps on her skin, he hesitated for a moment, then still covered her with the blanket before slipping under it himself, pressing against her.
The two were very close, the atmosphere becoming intimate and tense.
Nora froze. Under the blanket, held tightly by him, she didn't dare move. "Steven, what exactly do you want? I didn't do anything wrong..."
Steven moved closer, looking down at her from above, threatening in a low voice, "Will you dare to see Philip again?"
Nora was trapped, her body seeming to remember the intimacy Steven had once given her.
Her face gradually reddened, and she said somewhat indignantly, "I didn't do anything."
"Anyway, you're not allowed to see him!" Steven looked at her coldly, "No more contact with him either!"
"What right do you have to control me?" Nora felt wronged.
"I'm your man." He gripped her chin, his eyes full of possessiveness.
Nora froze, looking at Steven.
He was still holding her tightly, his tone forceful, his eyes dangerous.
Was he... jealous?
This thought suddenly popped into Nora's mind. She bit her lip and looked up at him, "You say you're my man?"
If he was really her man, then he couldn't talk about divorce anymore, and couldn't get involved with other women.
"Yes." Steven's breathing became rapid, and his grip tightened.
He could still control himself before, but now, as she looked at him like that, he could barely control himself.
He hadn't touched her for a month and was already struggling. Now with her in his arms, his emotions were instantly ignited.
Nora felt his reaction, and her face flushed red.
He was right there under the covers...
This moment was dangerous...
But Nora didn't want to miss this opportunity.
If they became intimate again, would Steven stop talking about divorce?
She actually still couldn't bear to let him go.
Nora's fingers tightened slightly. Gathering her courage, she said softly, "You still have needles in your head. Lean down first, I'll help you take them out."
Steven paused, his eyes deepening.
He could feel that Nora was moved too. Looking at her moist eyes, his mood suddenly improved.
He leaned down, hugging her, pressing even closer.
Nora was a bit nervous, "Don't hold so tight..."
"I want to hold you, and you like it too, don't you?" He moved closer, his voice low.
Nora's face was burning red.
He deliberately teased her, pressing even closer.
Nora said quietly, "Stop fooling around, let me take the needles out first."
"Okay." Steven finally settled down.
Nora carefully pulled out the needles, her movements gentle, "There, all done."
She placed the needles on the nightstand.
"OK," Steven responded, but still didn't let her go. Instead, he reached to pull open the nightstand drawer, "Are there any condoms left at home?"
"I don't know..."
"Let me look." Steven kissed her while fumbling in the drawer, pulled one out, and handed it to her, "You open it."
Nora's face was burning as he was already kissing behind her ear, his movements intimate.
Her hands shook as she tried to tear the wrapper, but couldn't get it open.
"I can't open it..." she said quietly, her eyes somewhat hazy.
"If you can't open it, then we won't use one tonight." Steven's breath fell on her collarbone, his tone carrying a hint of mischief.
Nora had to keep trying, but just couldn't tear it open, "Steven, I really can't open it..."
"Then we won't use one."
Nora was startled, "I'll get pregnant..."
"Then get pregnant."
She froze and looked up at him, "If we have a child, will you want it?"
If Steven said he would want the child, Nora would stop caring about anything else tonight.
But just then, the phone rang.
The intimate atmosphere was interrupted.
Nora's expression cleared somewhat. She saw the name "Vivian" pop up on Steven's phone screen.
Seeing that name, Nora's heart suddenly went cold.
If before she only suspected, now she could be certain that Steven had been in contact with Vivian recently.
She thought about how Vivian knew about her and Steven's divorce - it was probably Steven who told her personally.
As Nora's mind wandered, Steven had already answered the call, "Hello."
Recently, York Development Group and the Bennett Group had been collaborating. Steven and Vivian each represented their companies and had been in frequent contact lately.
Nora let go of Steven's robe tie.
Steven took the call, his expression becoming complicated. After a moment, he walked out of the guest bedroom and went to the study.
When he left, the warmth in the room seemed to disappear with him.
Nora lay alone under the covers, feeling cold all over, motionless.
