Chapter 158 Nora Suspects Steven
"Yes!" The server recognized Steven and hurried off.
Hazel didn't know how to fight. With her petite frame, she was being pulled around by Nora and couldn't fight back at all. "Nora! Let go of me!"
"Hazel!"
Willie couldn't stand watching anymore and tried to help, but Alton had him restrained, and he couldn't move.
Nora slapped Hazel hard across the face several times.
Olivia also kicked Willie a few times.
She'd been holding back for too long. In the hospital, she'd been too weak. Not anymore.
Today, she was settling both old and new scores!
She slapped Willie hard several times. These slaps were for her dead child, for Willie not being fit to be a father!
Olivia's eyes blazed with murderous intent.
Finally, a server pulled her away. "Alright, Miss, please calm down. Stop hitting him."
Olivia's kicks and slaps sent Willie curling into a ball.
Hazel was also kicked to the ground by Nora.
"Olivia, you're out eating with your lover, and you dare hit me? Just you wait!" Willie was dragged away by the server.
Nora chased after them and shouted, "Today, my husband and I invited Mr. Bridges to dinner. Don't make false accusations! If you don't know what's going on, open your stinking mouth and ask. You hit people without even asking - that's domestic violence, you bastard!"
"Nora, you're no good either!" Hazel was being dragged away by the server, but still cursing at her.
The two were pulled outside by the servers and unceremoniously thrown out of the Japanese restaurant.
From today on, this restaurant wouldn't serve them anymore.
Willie and Hazel fell together in a heap, both their faces changing color from the pain.
"Willie, are you okay?" Hazel helped Willie up.
Willie glanced at Hazel. She'd been beaten by Nora until her face was bruised and swollen. Willie felt terrible for her. "Hazel, let me take you to the hospital."
"It hurts so much." Hazel's eyes filled with tears. She cried and asked Willie to get revenge for her.
She couldn't let Nora and Olivia beat her for nothing. She had to play the victim, act pitiful, and make Willie divorce Olivia sooner!
They got in the car. Hazel suddenly thought of something and turned to ask Willie, "Willie, who were those two men just now?"
She'd noticed both men were really good-looking and had presence.
And the restaurant manager seemed particularly afraid of them. Who were those two people exactly?
"The one with Nora is Nora's husband. The one in the private room is Nora's husband's friend - he's a lawyer. Last time with my aunt's case, he was the one who messed it up!" Willie had hired a lawyer for Willow, too, but it was useless - no match for Alton at all.
After that, Willow's family made a huge scene at their house. In the end, Willie had to pay them $200,000 before they let it go.
Thinking about this made Willie angry, especially seeing how Alton looked at Olivia. That man clearly had his eye on Olivia!
"Nora's already married?" Hazel could hardly believe it. "When did this happen?"
"Don't know if it's a secret marriage or they're just living together. Anyway, she hasn't told anyone." Right now, nobody knew if Nora was really married or not.
Without seeing marriage documents, wedding photos, or a wedding ceremony, who knew what the truth was?
After chasing those people away, the manager hurried over with his staff to apologize.
They'd reacted too slowly. Now they had to grovel
Steven stopped them. "Go."
His tone was cold, as if displeased.
The manager didn't know how to react and retreated nervously, watching his expression.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Bridges. You got caught up in that misunderstanding because of me." Olivia apologized.
Alton smiled. "It's fine. I just didn't expect you two to be pretty good at fighting."
Olivia and Nora both blushed.
Nora said, "Olivia, Hazel is the woman Willie's keeping. You know that, right?"
"I know." Olivia's expression was calm.
Alton glanced at Olivia, thinking this was good.
Steven and Nora sat on one side, so Olivia and Alton could only sit on the other side.
"Olivia, is your face okay?" Nora saw that half of Olivia's face was red.
It must have been that bastard Willie who hit her!
"It's fine." Olivia touched her face. Alton's gaze also turned over, landing on the finger marks on her face.
Olivia felt a bit uncomfortable and pretended not to notice.
Steven smoothed Nora's hair. She'd been hitting Hazel so hard that her long hair had flown everywhere and was messy.
Nora smiled sweetly. "Thank you, honey."
Steven smiled.
Alton felt envious, too.
Nora was indeed adorable.
He wondered if Olivia would be like this when she was in love.
Just then, colorful plates of Japanese sashimi were brought up.
To apologize, the manager also gave them two complimentary bottles of wine.
Speaking of wine, Olivia said to Nora, "By the way, Nora, didn't Dad take two bottles of wine from the house yesterday? Was that wine expensive?"
"The price was okay. Steven bought it." Nora picked up a piece of tuna and ate it - fatty but not greasy, really delicious!
She chewed with relish.
Olivia frowned strangely. "Just okay? Yesterday, Mom told me that on his way home, he secretly sold those two bottles. She said he got $2,000 for one bottle, $4,000 for both."
Nora froze.
Steven's movements also stopped.
Oh no! Was their cover blown?
Alton watched Steven with an amused expression, just to see how he'd explain this.
Nora looked at Steven. "Honey, what's going on?"
She was still confused. How could those two bottles sell for $2,000? That didn't seem right.
A bead of cold sweat dripped down Steven's temple.
Steven thought for a moment, then said seriously, "Actually, I don't know how much those bottles cost either."
"Did your company give them to you again?" Nora asked.
Steven fell silent.
Nora had stolen his excuse, so he couldn't use that anymore. He could only say, "Alton gave them to me."
Alton was eating sashimi and nearly choked, coughing once. "That's right, I gave them to Steven."
Both women at the table frowned in confusion.
If Alton had given them before, why didn't he say so?
"I got the wine from a client after winning a case. I split a few bottles among some friends. I don't know how much they cost." Alton answered casually.
Steven smiled cooperatively, his lips a bit stiff. "Right, that's how it was."
"So they were from Mr. Bridges' client." Nora didn't doubt it. "I'm sorry, Mr. Bridges. My dad sold the wine you gave Steven."
"It's fine." Alton acted generously. "They were free anyway."
Olivia didn't think much of it either and lowered her eyes to eat quietly.
Nora asked Steven in a low voice, "Steven, this sashimi place is the one you ordered for me last time, right?"
"Yes." Steven didn't hide it and took a sip of sake.
"It's really good," Nora said. "You really have good taste. I like it."
Steven smiled slightly. "If you like it, eat more."
"Okay."
The atmosphere at the table was harmonious.
Olivia's phone suddenly rang. It was Willie calling.
Olivia glanced at it coldly and answered.
"Olivia, I'm sorry about earlier. I misunderstood you and accidentally hit you. I apologize." After leaving, Willie had thought it over. He felt that Alton looked very important and probably couldn't be interested in Olivia.
And just now, Nora had said it was Steven treating Alton to dinner.
Maybe he really had misunderstood.
Willie thought about how he'd brought Hazel and felt scared, worried Olivia might have noticed something.
He sent Hazel home and quickly called Olivia.
This time, Olivia's phone finally went through - before she'd had it in airplane mode.
Olivia said coldly, "I don't want your apology. If you really want to make it up to me, transfer $100,000 to me. I still haven't paid back the money from my hospital stay. Transfer $100,000, and I'll use it to pay people back."
"A few days in the hospital costs that much?" Hearing this, Willie felt Olivia was lying.
Olivia said flatly, "Grace Private Hospital. Go ask around about the prices. You went there before, too, didn't you? Go ask the nurses and you'll know the prices."
Willie was speechless.
Grace Private Hospital - he'd looked it up before. It was also called the rich people's hospital. It really was expensive.
Willie didn't know what to say and changed the subject. "Olivia, does your face still hurt? Let me come pick you up. I'll take you to the hospital."
Willie wanted to coax her home first so he could discuss not getting divorced with her.
He absolutely didn't want to divorce Olivia.
He wanted to get Olivia home first, get her into bed, be intimate, and once their feelings warmed up, she'd naturally be easier to talk to.
He'd just seen Olivia - her figure had recovered, and she was still as beautiful and stunning as before.
Willie was delighted and itching - it had been half a year since he'd touched her.
Olivia said, "Willie, stop with the useless talk. If you feel guilty, send me money. If you won't, then I don't think we have anything to talk about."
Right now, Olivia just wants to get some money from Willie. She had to figure out how to pay back what she owed before dealing with him.
Otherwise, it would be even harder to get money later.
"Olivia, what's he saying to you?" Nora spoke up to ask Olivia.
Olivia felt Willie had nothing more to say and hung up. She told her, "Just asking if my face hurts, wanting to take me to see a doctor. I told him to transfer some money, and he stopped talking."
"Olivia, you absolutely can't trust him again." If Olivia hadn't trusted him last time, she would not have ended up with that miscarriage.
Willie was just a person who brought misfortune.
