Chapter 144 Steven Helps Nora Handle the Crisis
"Steven, I'll talk to you in a moment." After Nora finished speaking, she took out her phone to call Willie.
Steven stopped talking and quietly watched her.
Nora was in a very irritated mood.
Olivia has already been transferred to another hospital, but they still won't let her go!
After a while, Willie answered the phone.
"Hello, Nora." Willie knew that when Nora called him, it must be about Olivia. He was waiting for it.
"Willie, what's the meaning of that video you put online? Isn't it enough that Olivia was harmed like this by your family? Now you're creating fake public opinion to harm her?" Nora immediately confronted him.
Willie chuckled, "Nora, don't be so angry. We're only doing this because we want to know which hospital Olivia is staying at. Since you won't tell us, we can only do this - let the media help us find Olivia."
"Delete that video immediately!" Nora demanded.
Willie refused, "Actually, we don't want to do this either. How about this - as long as Olivia drops the case and doesn't pursue Willow's responsibility anymore, we'll delete the video."
"In your dreams!" Nora's eyes turned red with anger.
Steven sat across from her, seeing her eyes turn red.
He squeezed her hand.
Willie said, "If you're going to talk like that, then we have nothing to discuss. We'll just wait for the media to help us find Olivia, and I'll talk to Olivia myself."
After saying this, Willie hung up the phone.
Nora was so angry she wanted to kill someone, "Bastard!"
"What happened?" Steven looked at her.
Nora was so angry her chest was heaving, "Didn't Olivia transfer hospitals? The Reed family can't find Olivia now, so they put the video of Eleanor kneeling and crying to Olivia that day online. Now, everyone online is cursing Olivia. I didn't expect the Reed family to be so vicious - they actually filmed it and are spreading lies."
Steven frowned.
Nora cursed, "They're absolute bastards!"
Olivia was now in her recovery period, and they were doing these things. This family was truly despicable!
Moreover, Nora didn't want Olivia to know.
That day when the Reed family stopped paying for medical expenses, Olivia had a breakdown. It hadn't even been two days, and now there was an even bigger incident.
Nora was extremely agitated.
But she felt she had to pull herself together. Now that Olivia was in her recovery period and couldn't have extreme emotional ups and downs, only she could help Olivia.
She pressed her lips together, thinking of a solution, but wasn't sure if it would work. She got up and said to Steven, "Steven, I need to go out now."
As she spoke, she stood up, looking urgent and frantic.
Steven's expression darkened as he grabbed her hand, "Don't be so hasty. Let's first discuss how to handle this matter."
Nora looked at Steven.
Although his face was serious, he looked very calm, giving people a great sense of security.
Nora sighed, "I want to go to the residential complex where Olivia lives to see if the complex has surveillance footage from the night Olivia miscarried. If we can capture something, it could prove that the Reed family is lying, and that Olivia is actually the victim."
Steven's eyebrow twitched as he glanced at Nora.
Nora was quite sharp-minded.
Steven picked up his keys and said, "I'll go with you."
"Okay." Nora steadied herself.
When big trouble came, Steven didn't say she was meddling in other people's business, but instead fully supported her. This approach hit the softest spot in Nora's heart.
She was very moved.
Arriving at where the Reed family lived, Nora got out of the car, feeling a bit nervous inside. "I wonder if the property management staff will be willing to help us retrieve the surveillance footage."
"They will." Steven comforted her.
Encouraged by her husband, Nora gathered her courage and walked into the property management office with him.
"Hello." Nora entered, and there were two middle-aged people working in the property office. They weren't very willing to pay attention to her - lacking kindness and full of indifference.
"Hello." Nora greeted again.
One of the middle-aged men was reading a newspaper. He lifted his eyes to glance at her, "What do you need?"
"Yes." Nora walked over and explained the situation.
After listening, the middle-aged man remained silent, "Sorry, we can't provide residential complex surveillance footage casually."
Steven, listening from behind, wasn't surprised by this response.
Property management indeed couldn't provide it casually.
He took out his phone and sent a text message to Clarence.
He was with Nora now, and it wasn't convenient to make a phone call, so he could only contact his subordinate via text...
No matter how much Nora pleaded, the property management refused to help her check the surveillance.
She walked back to Steven's side. Steven had just finished sending his message and looked up at her, seeing her eyes full of tears.
She hadn't been crying originally, but because the property management kept refusing to provide the footage, as Nora kept talking, she felt very sad and wronged, and then she started crying.
Seeing her cry, Steven's heart tightened. He took her hand, "Why are you crying?"
"They won't give us the surveillance footage." Nora choked up.
Olivia was so pitiful - losing her child and being repeatedly pushed to the brink by the Reed family.
Steven wiped away her tears and had her sit down, "You sit here, I'll go communicate with them."
"They won't agree." She had just explained everything very clearly, but they just refused.
"It's okay, I'll go talk to them again." Steven insisted on going over.
Nora sat in the chair waiting for him.
Steven walked over, having already received Clarence's reply. He dialed a number - it was the boss of this property management company.
After Steven dialed, the other party was bowing and scraping, almost wanting to kowtow to him, "Sorry, sorry, I didn't know you were gracing us with your presence. Please forgive our poor reception..."
"My wife wants to get some surveillance footage from your property company..." He briefly explained the situation.
The other side was trembling with fear, "Of course! Mr. York, please give your phone to the property staff, and I'll talk to them."
Steven handed his phone to the middle-aged man who had been talking to Nora earlier.
"What's this for?" the middle-aged man asked Steven coldly.
"The person on the phone is your boss. He wants you to take the call." Steven said indifferently.
The middle-aged man was still a bit skeptical, but when he answered the phone, his expression immediately changed. This was actually the company boss calling him!
The boss scolded him over the phone and told him to quickly help Steven find the surveillance footage.
The middle-aged man responded submissively, stood up and apologized to Steven, "Sorry, sorry! I didn't know you were the boss's friend. May I ask how to address you?"
"No need for titles, just help me find the surveillance footage." Steven gave simple instructions.
The property management quickly invited them into the surveillance room.
Nora was a bit stunned, "Steven, what did you say to him? How did he suddenly agree?"
Steven pulled her into his arms and said gently, "Maybe I have high emotional intelligence, and they were moved by me."
Nora didn't believe it, "I was very polite just now, too."
"Then I don't know," Steven said evasively.
The property management was searching for that day's surveillance records. Nora told them the floor and apartment number.
She knew where Olivia's home was, having visited before.
Finally, the property management found the surveillance footage of the family on the 15th floor. There was no footage of Willow pushing Olivia, but there was a record of Olivia being carried into the elevator by medical personnel, covered in blood and unconscious.
The Reed family relatives followed to the elevator entrance and said a few words.
Willow cried, "What should we do? Eleanor, I just pushed Olivia, and she's bleeding heavily. Will the baby be gone?"
Eleanor stood in front of a group of people and said calmly, "If it's gone, so be it."
Hearing Eleanor's words in the surveillance footage, Nora was furious!
You really don't know until you investigate - once you do, you want to spit blood.
This vicious person really didn't want Olivia to give birth to the child. When the child was gone, she didn't show any sadness at all!
Unfortunately, only this sentence was recorded - she didn't speak after that.
She really wished Eleanor had said more to reveal her vicious heart.
Having obtained the surveillance footage, Nora immediately wanted to post it online to help prove Olivia's innocence.
Steven stopped her, "Wait."
"What's wrong?" Nora looked at him.
Steven looked at her intently, "The optimal PR timing is within 24 hours. The time hasn't come yet - don't post it, wait a bit longer."
"What?" Nora didn't understand this. She looked at Steven.
Steven continued, "And if you just post it from your account, it won't get much attention."
"Then what should we do?" Nora looked at Steven for help.
Steven gazed at her, "If you trust me, leave this matter to me. I have some media friends who can help."
Nora was surprised again. Steven really had all kinds of friends!
And he seemed to understand everything and was very capable.
Nora decided to trust Steven, "Okay, Steven, you handle it for me. I trust you."
She felt Steven was her support.
With him there, she didn't need to worry about anything or be troubled.
"I'll handle it well for you. Don't worry."
Steven comforted Nora with a few words, then sent her back to the hospital.
However, there was a crowd of people blocking the hospital entrance.
They were all media who had tracked down the Olivia incident and came to interview.
The incident's popularity was getting higher and higher. The likes had already broken 200,000, making it quite big news in the city.
But Grace Private Hospital wouldn't let these people in and sent a bunch of security guards to block the entrance.
"Why are there so many reporters here?" Nora was a bit panicked.
"It's normal." Steven glanced over, "The media all want to get first-hand information."
Nora was thinking about how to get in when Olivia called.
"Nora, where did you go? There are reporters all around the hospital entrance now. If you haven't returned to the hospital yet, don't come back. You appeared in the video, and I'm afraid those reporters will grab onto you and not let go."
Nora's heart tightened. "Olivia, you saw those videos?"
"Yes, the family member from the next room told me just now, and also said the hospital entrance is full of reporters now."
"Olivia, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Mr. Bridges is here. The security guards at the hospital entrance were all sent by him. He said he won't let them in." Olivia glanced at Alton. He seemed to have rushed over specially and looked travel-worn.
Olivia had him sit on the sofa to drink water.
Hearing that Alton was there, Nora felt much more at ease. "Olivia, we just went to your residential complex and got the surveillance footage from the day you accidentally miscarried. If released, it can prove you're the victim. Steven says he'll handle this matter, and it will be resolved by tomorrow morning."
