Chapter 119 Steven Sends Someone to Watch Nora
Nora was just in his bed last night.
And today she's inviting Andrew on a date to The Fisherman's Catch?
Steven's face darkened as he beckoned Clarence over.
"Mr. York, what can I do for you?" Clarence bent down and stood beside Steven.
Steven said coldly, "Have someone keep an eye on Mrs. York. If she goes to The Fisherman's Catch recently, let me know."
This time, he would catch her red-handed. If Nora really dared to go, he'd like to see what excuse she could come up with!
Steven suddenly snapped the pen in his hand.
The executive presenting the project jumped in fright, thinking he had done a poor job and that Steven was angry. He trembled with fear...
Evening.
Someone knocked on the door.
Nora checked the time - it was past six. Thinking it was Steven, she happily went to answer it.
Steven had said he'd come see her after work tonight.
She'd been thinking about him all day.
A smile curved Nora's lips as she opened the door.
Outside stood Alton, holding a briefcase, dressed in a suit and tie. He had very handsome bone structure - noble and composed.
Nora was quite surprised. "Alton? What are you doing here?"
"Steven sent me." Actually, he had gone to York Development Group and saw Steven calling for a legal advisor to deliver an agreement to the hospital, so he volunteered to do it himself, saying he would deliver it.
Otherwise, he'd have no reason to visit Olivia at the hospital.
"Where's Steven then?" Nora looked outside - no one there.
"He has to work late tonight," Alton answered casually, pulling out an agreement. "Steven asked me to give you this."
Nora took it and saw it was the agreement for her shop.
Alton said, "I'm Steven's friend. Your troubles are my troubles. Let me know if you need anything."
Knowing he was a lawyer, Nora immediately brought him to Olivia. "Olivia, Alton is a lawyer. If you have any questions, you can ask him."
Olivia sat up, her small face very pale.
Alton couldn't help wanting to help her up, but restrained himself. He pulled his hand back and showed a faint smile. "Ms. Adams, Steven sent me to help you. Feel free to tell me whatever you need."
Olivia took the business card he handed her.
It said Skyline Law Firm.
She remembered that this law firm was very prestigious.
"Thank you." Olivia really did need a lawyer right now. She thought Alton had been sent by Steven to help. "I'll call you later."
"I heard you were pushed and had a miscarriage. Do you want to hold the person who pushed you accountable?" Seeing she didn't ask, Alton took the initiative to inquire.
That night, he had learned everything about Olivia from Tanner.
The Reed family members were too horrible!
Alton came this time wanting to help Olivia get justice.
Chris had told him that on the day of her miscarriage, she kept crying on the operating table that someone had caused her to lose her baby.
Alton thought she must feel very wronged.
Not expecting Alton to ask this, Olivia's expression changed. She looked at him. "Mr. Bridges, how do you know about this?"
"I heard the nurses outside talking about it," Alton responded calmly.
So that's how.
Olivia was about to speak when the hospital room door was pushed open.
Willie came in. He had even bought a bouquet of flowers and walked in with a gentle expression.
Actually, Willie was quite good-looking, too. Always in suits and ties, he was the type of man full of vigor.
But compared to Alton, he lost completely.
Alton had excellent bearing - clearly a highly educated person. Willie paled in comparison to the mature and confident Alton.
"Who's this?" Seeing Alton, Willie instinctively felt threatened.
He glanced at Olivia. What was this man's relationship with Olivia?
Nora answered, "He's a lawyer, a friend of my husband's. My husband sent him to deliver an agreement."
"What agreement?" Willie frowned.
Nora said, "My shop. You wanted to buy it back, right? I've agreed."
Willie was somewhat surprised. He looked at Olivia, whose expression was very calm.
She had been unwilling to agree before, but now that the baby was gone, she agreed?
Olivia had given up on Willie and didn't want to waste emotions on him. She couldn't even be bothered to look at him.
Alton felt that their marriage had truly reached a dead end.
"Alright, then send me the shop details and account passwords on my phone, and I'll transfer the money to you." Willie was quite happy about this.
Getting the shop back meant Nora couldn't work at the company anymore - exactly what he wanted.
From now on, he wouldn't have to worry about Nora watching him.
Nora said, "There's still some income in my shop - this month's earnings. You'll need to transfer that to me, too."
"Fine." Willie agreed and transferred the money to her, being particularly straightforward.
Nora was straightforward too, giving him the agreement, then looking at Willie and saying, "Sign the agreement. Two years ago, it was because we didn't sign an agreement that we ended up with today's trouble."
Willie was rather cautious and stared at the agreement for a while.
Seeing that Alton still wasn't leaving, he asked coldly, "Why haven't you left yet?"
"I'm the notary lawyer for the agreement." Alton smiled slightly and sat down elegantly.
Even a notary lawyer?
Willie felt something was off, but he really did want to get the shop back, so he didn't say anything. "I have no objections."
Nora said, "I agree too."
Alton nodded. "Then please sign and seal it."
The two signed their names.
"The agreement is now official. Starting today, the shop belongs to Mr. Reed, and the money belongs to Ms. Adams." Alton stamped it with Skyline Law Firm's seal and put the agreement away.
With the matter settled, Olivia said to them, "You two should head back."
Nora knew Olivia wanted to talk with Willie, so she nodded and left.
Alton walked out with her.
"Need a ride?" Alton asked gently.
Nora shook her head. "No need. There's a subway right outside the hospital - very convenient. I can get back on my own."
Alton didn't insist. Nora was Steven's wife, and Steven was very easily jealous - he didn't want to provoke him.
In the hospital room.
Willie called the caregiver out, then took a fork himself and brought a piece of fruit to Olivia's lips. "Olivia, have some fruit."
Olivia glanced at him coldly. "What exactly do you want?"
Showing kindness for no reason - even an idiot could see something was wrong.
Willie said in a low voice, "It's about your fall. Willow has been crying at the hospital these past two days. She's almost cried her eyes out."
Olivia understood - so the person who pushed her was Willow.
"The person who pushed me was Willow, wasn't it?"
"Yes. She feels very uneasy about it. If she weren't afraid of upsetting you, she would have come to apologize already. Olivia, look... she's our aunt, my mom's own sister. Can you just let this go?"
