Chapter 95 Nora Deals with Terry
In the afternoon, Olivia came back with a big diamond ring on her ring finger - it must have been from Willie.
So Willie had made up with Olivia.
Nora felt something was off.
Willie was making peace with Olivia on one side, while Terry was threatening her on the other. What was this family up to?
"Olivia, what happened?" Nora asked.
Olivia looked a bit confused. "He suddenly gave me a diamond ring and said he wants to make things work between us."
"What else did he say?" Nora continued asking.
Olivia shook her head. "He didn't finish. He kept taking phone calls and didn't have time to talk. He said we'll go out for dinner tonight and have a proper chat."
"Olivia, do you still want to be with Willie?"
Olivia fell silent. Willie had gone too far before, and she didn't want to keep putting up with it - she had wanted a divorce.
But when Willie was nice to her, she remembered his gentle side, and there was the baby in her belly.
If they divorced, her child wouldn't have a father.
Nora knew she was torn, so she didn't push it.
Divorce was a big deal.
Not something you could decide on easily.
Nora felt she should give Olivia time to think it through herself.
Evening came quickly.
Willie picked up Olivia for dinner. Nora glanced at Hazel, who was biting her lip in anger.
Nora gave a cold laugh.
The mistress was getting more and more bold!
On her phone, there was a message from Terry. He had booked a nice hot spring hotel.
Nora glanced at it, grabbed her bag, left the office and took a cab there.
On the way, she sent a text message from her phone.
When she arrived at the location, it was a resort. Outside was a parking lot full of cars, with hardly anyone around - a perfect place for what she had planned.
Nora's phone rang.
"Hello, Ms. Adams, we're the ones Mr. York sent. We're at the resort entrance now. Where are you?" The bodyguards called Nora.
Nora went to meet them first - four strong men.
Nora was satisfied and quietly gave them instructions. "When you see the guy later, beat him up good, understand?"
"Got it!" The bodyguards nodded.
They were all dressed in colorful clothes, disguised as thugs.
Nora felt everything was going smoothly. She called Terry on her phone, deliberately speaking in a sweet voice. "Hello, Terry, I'm here, but this looks like a resort, and I don't know how to get in. Can you come out and meet me?"
"Sure." Terry agreed readily.
After eating here, they could go straight upstairs to get a room!
Terry was thrilled and walked out of the restaurant toward the resort entrance.
Tonight, Nora would be his!
But as soon as he reached the entrance, Terry had a knife held to his throat. "Don't move! This is a robbery!"
Four thugs appeared before him!
Terry's face changed, and he immediately cowered.
He shakily pulled out his wallet. "Please don't hurt me, I'll give you all my money..."
The thugs grabbed the bag from his hands. Seeing only 500 dollars in cash inside, they grabbed his collar with cold faces. "Just five hundred bucks? You broke bastard! Got no money but still coming to resorts?"
As they spoke, their fists came swinging, beating Terry until he was crying for mercy.
One of them kicked Terry right in the crotch - that was Steven's instruction.
Daring to harass Steven's wife - he must have a death wish!
Terry's face changed drastically from the kick, and he fell to the ground shaking.
"Have mercy..."
Nora hid in the shadows, watching Terry get beaten like a dog on the ground. Finally, she felt that pent-up anger release.
He'd always been causing her trouble, touching her whenever he felt like it. Today, she was settling both old and new scores!
After the thugs left, Terry was barely breathing.
Nora waited another ten minutes or so before slowly walking out as if looking for the way. "Where is the entrance? Why can't I find it?"
She had made plans with Terry, so she couldn't not show up, or it would make Terry suspicious.
Better to wait until after he got beaten, then come out and see his sorry state.
"Ah!" Nora pretended to scream. "Terry, how did you get beaten up like this? What just happened?"
She acted surprised and helped Terry up. Terry's face was pale with pain, his hands trembling. "Nora, I just got robbed. Quick, call an ambulance..."
"Okay!" Nora pretended to panic and dialed for an ambulance.
Soon, the ambulance arrived.
Nora said a few words to the paramedics, and Terry was taken away in the ambulance.
Nora didn't follow. She stood at the entrance, breathed a sigh of relief, and smiled.
"Having fun?" A pleasant male voice asked from behind her.
Nora jumped, afraid it might be someone who knew Terry, not daring to turn around.
If it really was, she'd be done for. She had hired people to beat up Terry and even kicked him in the privates. If the Reed family investigated...
"What? Scared now that someone caught you?" The voice behind her was laughing at her.
Nora felt the voice sounded more and more familiar.
She turned around to see Steven sitting in an Audi, his eyes showing a hint of amusement.
His woman was pretty clever.
Seeing it was Steven, all of Nora's tension melted away. She walked over. "What are you doing here?"
"Came to see if you'd get bullied." Steven had been sitting in the car the whole time, watching from a distance.
Nora opened the car door and got in. "What would you do if I did get bullied?"
"Pay them back tenfold." Steven wasn't joking.
But Nora thought he was joking and laughed, saying sweetly, "You're so nice."
Either way, when someone was taking advantage of her, Steven stood up to protect her instead of blaming her for dressing provocatively or whatever. That alone was pretty great.
"So you came specially to pick me up?" Nora asked.
"Yes," Steven responded coolly. Without asking where Nora wanted to go, he started the car.
Nora saw snacks in the car, casually grabbed some and opened them. While eating beef jerky, she asked him, "Where did the snacks come from?"
Snacks suddenly appearing in Steven's car - of course, Nora had to question him.
Because Steven himself wasn't someone who ate snacks.
"A client gave them." Actually, Clarence had prepared them, but seeing Nora seemed to like them, Steven was in a pretty good mood.
"Clients give snacks?" Nora was very surprised.
"Snack company, what else would they give?"
"I see." Nora nodded. "Perfect timing, I'm hungry. I'll have some snacks to tide me over."
Steven took Nora to a mall.
"What are we doing here? Eating?" Nora followed behind him, completely confused.
Steven pulled out a card and casually put it in her hand. "Spend whatever you want."
"What?" She was even more confused. "What's this for?"
She didn't understand.
Steven stood under the lights, his stern features mixed with a touch of softness. "Don't look at prices. Buy whatever you want today."
Nora held the card. "I need to know why."
Why suddenly bring her to a mall and then give her a card telling her to buy whatever?
"Last night." Steven reminded her.
"What about last night?"
Steven looked at her. She looked clueless. Steven frowned. "I've made it so clear, and you still don't get it?"
She thought for a moment. "I really don't understand."
Steven sighed, saying awkwardly, "Didn't I misunderstand you yesterday?"
She blinked. "So, this is to make it up to me?"
