Chapter 202 Steven Is Jealous.

Chapter 202 Steven Is Jealous.

Nora was forced to look up at Steven.

Steven's expression went dark, and he said in a low voice, "He doesn't even know what snacks you like. Everything he bought was stuff you don't enjoy eating."

Nora lowered her head and responded softly, "It's okay, I'm not really that picky about snacks."

Hearing this, Steven's face looked even worse, his eyes full of dissatisfaction. "He doesn't understand you at all. How could you possibly like someone like him?"

Nora felt Steven was too confident, so she asked back, "How do you know I don't like him?"

Steven stared at her, gripping her chin tightly, his tone threatening, "You like him?"

Nora pressed her lips together, silently looking at Steven.

Actually, she didn't need to tell him the truth, especially since Steven wanted to divorce her. But at noon, he had helped her deal with Jimmy and arranged for workers to help her with a lot of things, which really touched her heart. So she said frankly, "Actually, I really don't like someone like him that much."

Hearing this, Steven's eyebrows jumped, and his eyes became gentler. "Really?"

Nora nodded. "Yes, he's a nice person, but I don't feel anything for him."

She had almost said everything in her heart.

Steven asked again, "Then why did you say you two were dating last night?"

Nora didn't speak.

Steven wouldn't let it go and kept asking, "Say it."

He wouldn't give up until he heard her answer.

Nora explained in a small voice, "Who told you to always say such annoying things, always accusing me of stuff? I just went ahead and admitted it."

Steven looked at her soft lips, his eyes becoming intense. "You can talk, so why didn't you explain?"

Nora felt a bit uncomfortable and lowered her lashes. "Explaining doesn't help. You're always suspicious. You only listen when you want to. When you don't want to listen, nothing I say matters, and you'll still punish me."

She had gradually come to understand Steven's personality. He was the type with a strong need for control—very considerate when treating people well, but also very cruel when hurting them.

Steven finally explained, "Last night I said harsh things because you came home wearing Philip's clothes."

Nora was a bit surprised and quickly explained, "That was because his hand was injured. My jacket got dirty while wrapping his hand. It was cold, and I didn't have a jacket to wear, so he lent me his. You know how cold it's been these past few days."

What Steven cared about most was their recent relationship. "You two have been together every day lately?"

Nora admitted honestly, "He's just helping me out. I guess he feels bad for me—seeing a girl running around the office like that."

Steven," What?" His eyes narrowed, biting out the words.

Nora frowned. "Don't overthink it. He's never said he likes me. He just helps when he runs into me. Maybe he just wants to be friends. You're always so suspicious, it makes me embarrassed to face him."

Steven moved closer to her, his tone firm. "I'm a man. I know what men are thinking. The way he looks at you is special. I think he likes you ."

"Don't talk nonsense!"

"I'm not talking nonsense. He likes you." His tone was certain.

Nora was a bit speechless and looked up at him. "Are you jealous?"

Steven admitted without hiding it, "Of course I'm jealous." As he spoke, he held her and pressed her head against his chest. "So don't interact with him."

Nora froze.

Steven pinched her chin, saw her blush, and couldn't help laughing. "Hearing me say this, are you happy?"

Nora was a bit surprised, her mind in chaos. Steven clearly wanted a divorce, yet he was so good to her and even jealous. She really didn't know what he was thinking.

Just as she was about to ask him something, Steven kissed her, pressing her against the shelf and kissing her breathless.

"What are you doing..." Nora's eyes were hazy.

Steven held her tightly, his hand sliding under her clothes, unfastening her bra.

"Don't!" Nora suddenly came to her senses and pushed him away in panic. "Steven, don't do this..."

Steven didn't stop, turning her around and holding her in his arms, his voice husky. "This afternoon you got me all worked up, and I haven't dealt with it yet."

Nora protested softly, "How did I get you worked up? You're the one who got me worked up."

Steven laughed, wanting her to be more compliant. He bit her ear and placed her hand on his waist.

"Don't." Nora refused. "You can't just do whatever you want to me whenever you feel like it. You can't do this..."

Steven held her and said softly, "You're mine."

Nora was pressed against the shelf by him, smelling his scent—a faint, cool fragrance that smelled really good. But this was the office. They couldn't do this. It was too embarrassing.

"Steven, don't do this. You need to respect me..." Nora tried to stop him, but her voice was so soft it didn't sound like a refusal at all.

Steven responded in a low voice, "Okay, I respect you. I know you actually quite like it when I take advantage of you..." His eyes were intoxicated as he held her waist, pulling them closer together.

Nora gasped, trying to escape.

Steven wouldn't let her. "We've come this far. Let's feel good together."

Nora's face flushed. Just as things were about to get out of control, her phone suddenly rang in her pocket.

Nora instantly sobered up. "My phone's ringing."

She quickly took out her phone. It was Amelia calling. Steven was still kissing her from behind, holding her and not letting go.

Nora frowned and patted him. "Stop it, it's Amelia calling."

Steven chuckled softly and whispered in her ear, "Let me make you feel good."

Nora blushed deeply.

She answered the phone. "Hello?"

Amelia said on the phone, "Nora, I got fired."

Nora paused, completely calming down. She quickly pushed Steven's hands away. "Stop it, Amelia got fired."

Steven restrained himself, his eyes becoming calm. He knew now wasn't the time to continue.

Nora held the phone and asked, "Did you just get off work? Come find me at Harman Tower."

Amelia knew her address. They often chatted on Facebook. "Okay, I'll come right away."

Amelia arrived quickly.

Nora and Steven straightened their clothes and sat in the office waiting for her.

At this time, the oatmeal porridge Steven ordered was also delivered.

He went to the door to get the takeout and happened to run into Amelia, his expression somewhat complicated. If she hadn't called, he and Nora might have already done something.

Amelia noticed Steven's eyes looked a bit gloomy, but didn't understand why. She asked, "Is Nora inside?"

"She is." Steven brought her in.

The three sat in the empty office, and Steven served oatmeal porridge to Nora and Amelia.

Nora asked Amelia, "Amelia, have you eaten dinner? If not, let's eat together."

Amelia looked at the pot of oatmeal porridge. "Is there enough?"

"Yes, it's such a big pot." Nora took a bowl and served Amelia some.

The three ate while chatting about Amelia being fired.

Amelia handed her phone to Nora to show her the video.

Nora saw the video of Jimmy beating up Terry and couldn't help laughing. "Why did Jimmy go beat up Terry?"

She thought these two tormenting each other was quite satisfying.

Steven sat nearby, understanding what had happened, but didn't say anything.

Amelia recalled the afternoon scene. "I'm not too clear either, but Jimmy said his mom was sent to prison because of the Reed family, and now they want him to cause trouble for you guys."

Nora found it strange. "Did Jimmy suddenly have a change of heart? Actually, saying it was the Reed family that harmed his family."

Amelia analyzed, "Did Terry tell him to come cause you trouble? Otherwise, why would he go settle accounts with Terry?"

Nora thought about it and found it made a lot of sense. "It really could be that Terry instigated him to come."

Amelia laughed. "Then this time he brought trouble on himself."

Nora felt something wasn't quite right. She turned to ask Steven, "Steven, didn't you say you sent Jimmy to the police station this afternoon? How could he still go find Terry?"

Steven almost got burned by the oatmeal porridge. After swallowing, he explained calmly, "Maybe the police just warned him a few times. After all, he didn't actually hurt anyone. After he left the police station, he went to find Terry. That's probably what happened."

The logic made sense. Jimmy really hadn't hurt anyone.

Nora turned to ask Amelia, "So, why were you fired?"

Amelia said while eating, "Because I filmed this video. Bianca told me to hand over my phone. I refused, so she told me to pack up and leave."

Nora reminded her, "If she does that, you can demand compensation."

Amelia nodded. "I know. When I left, I told her to have the contract ready, saying I'd go through the resignation procedures tomorrow."

Nora asked, "So what did Bianca say? Will she pay?"

Amelia laughed. "She was really angry and said she wouldn't give me a single cent."

Nora wanted to laugh. "She doesn't get to decide that."

Amelia said confidently, "If she doesn't pay, I'll sue her and make her suffer a bit. I've been annoyed with her for a long time."

Nora felt a bit guilty. "I'm sorry, Amelia. Bianca probably kept targeting you because of me."

Amelia waved her hand. "It's fine. I've wanted to leave Apex Technologies Corporation for a while now. I've accumulated work experience, so it's a good time to try a different company."

Nora asked with concern, "Do you have any idea which company you want to go to?"

Amelia said mysteriously, "Actually, I do. Do you know York Development Group?"

Steven almost choked on his oatmeal porridge.

Nora nodded. "I know it. Steven works at York Development Group. He's a supervisor."

Amelia looked at Steven with delight. "You're also at York Development Group? My cousin is too. She wants to recommend me for an internal hire, but I don't know if I can get in yet."

Steven frowned. "Which department?"

"Jewelry sales department."

Steven thought to himself that he'd need to contact the jewelry department to screen Amelia out. Otherwise, if she joined the company, she might cause a lot of trouble.
