Chapter 132 Steven Buys a Phone for Nora
She opened her mouth and immediately called him "darling."
Steven raised his eyebrows and drove off with a smile.
"Hey!" Bianca screamed from behind.
As soon as Steven left, the bodyguards withdrew too, getting into an inconspicuous car and following Steven's vehicle into the traffic.
Giselle ran over, "Bianca, who were all those people?"
"How would I know? I tried to go ask earlier, but those bodyguards blocked me and wouldn't say anything. I have no idea what that was about." Bianca's face looked terrible. What she feared most was Nora catching the eye of some rich person—that way, Nora would end up better off than her!
Giselle complained, "Now that she's gone, what do we do?"
They had planned to withhold her medical fees to scare Olivia into dropping the case.
Now Olivia had just left. Where would they find her in the future?
Bianca's face darkened, "I'll call Willie."
The Audi drove along the road.
Nora said, "Just as you guessed, the Reed family members showed up again this early in the morning."
If they didn't transfer hospitals, they'd definitely be bothered by them for the next few days!
Steven glanced at her, "Don't be so angry. It's good that the matter is resolved."
"Of course I'm angry. They just love to disgust people."
Steven asked casually, "Has Olivia said how she wants to handle this?"
Steven actually wanted to help them, but he needed to know Olivia's thoughts first to avoid making decisions on his own.
Nora answered, "Olivia said she's left it to Mr. Bridges, and she'll communicate with him herself. She doesn't want me to get involved."
Steven didn't say anything more.
With Alton helping Olivia, he could probably help her get justice.
The car drove forward, and along the way, there was a large shopping mall.
Steven suddenly stopped the car.
Nora asked him, "What are you doing?"
"Come on." Steven didn't waste words with her, unbuckled his seatbelt, and got out.
Nora looked confused, but had to get out with him.
The two walked into the mall one after the other.
Nora walked behind, and Steven, finding her too slow, reached out his long arm, pulled her over, and held her in his large palm.
His palm was cool, only becoming burning hot like fire during intimate moments.
Nora's heartbeat suddenly quickened, "Steven, what are you doing here? Buying a computer? Didn't we just buy one for home?"
His palm was warm. Nora glanced at it, didn't pull away, and smiled.
Steven said nothing and led her into a large phone store.
It sold not just phones, but also computers and photography products.
Steven's goal was clear—he went straight to the phone section and picked up a new model that had just been released in October.
"You're buying a phone?" Nora leaned over. Wasn't his phone last year's new model?
It was now mid-November, and the phones released in October were at their most expensive.
"Pick one," Steven said flatly.
Nora was stunned, "What?"
What did he mean?
Steven was going to buy her a phone?
Steven looked at her and said, "Last time I broke your phone, so I'm compensating you with a new one."
He really was going to buy her a phone!
Before Nora could speak, she broke into a smile.
She sneaked a glance at him, "But my phone still works."
"It's an old model from several years ago. Pick a new one, there are new models out now."
Nora didn't know why, but she suddenly felt a bit shy.
Her hand tapped on the counter, and she asked him somewhat embarrassedly, "Steven, you're really buying me one?"
Nora often heard about her colleagues' boyfriends or husbands giving them phones, and she had been quite envious at the time.
She never expected that one day, it would happen to her too.
Steven was pretty good at this.
She smiled slightly, her clean face beaming with happiness.
If it were a stranger giving her a phone, she definitely wouldn't accept it, but this was her husband!
They were already married. Steven being good to her was him doting on her, so of course, she should enjoy it.
"Smiling so happily?" Steven looked at her with smiling eyes, "Very happy?"
She couldn't help but laugh out loud, cheerfully, "Yeah, pretty happy."
She didn't hide her feelings.
Besides, Steven didn't like it when she was a killjoy.
"Pick one. What color do you like?" Steven picked up several colors in front of them for her to choose from.
Nora looked them over and decided on a large one. She said, "I'll take the black one. Black is more practical, classy and low-key."
"Okay, black it is." Steven asked again, "Want to get one with more storage?"
"Yes." She used to keep the international network running on her phone all the time, checking emails whenever she had nothing to do.
"Then get one with more storage." Steven had the clerk bring one with the most storage.
Nora waved her hand in refusal, "Don't need that much, 256GB is enough. I won't use 512GB."
"I already asked him to get it." Steven insisted on not changing.
Nora said nothing more.
The clerk quickly brought a new phone and asked, "Hello, activate it now? Once the packaging is torn, no returns, but it can be repaired. If there's a quality issue, we can exchange it."
"Open it." Steven remained calm throughout.
Nora leaned against the counter nearby, smiling sweetly.
Nora looked at the new phone with curiosity, her heart full of anticipation.
The clerk opened the packaging and took out the phone. Steven extended his hand to Nora, "Phone."
"What?" She was confused.
Steven said flatly, "I said, your phone. He'll transfer your card."
"Okay." She pulled over her bag, took out the phone with the cracked screen, and handed it to the clerk.
After some operations, the phone was activated.
The clerk handed it to Nora, "Hello, Miss, the phone is activated. I've put your old phone in the box for you. Please take it."
The clerk returned her old phone to her.
"Thank you." Nora took it.
Steven had already gone to look at other products. She looked around, and Steven came over with a pair of earphones, "These earphones too, charge them together."
"Why are you buying earphones too?" Nora asked him.
"Your PS online classes at home are too noisy. I'm buying you earphones so you can wear them next time you have class."
Nora's face heated up. He was buying her earphones because he found it too noisy!
Walking out of the mall, Nora had a new phone and a new pair of earphones.
She played with the phone curiously all the way, and was still playing when they got home and got out of the car.
Steven couldn't take it anymore and reminded her sternly, "Don't look at your phone while walking, or you'll fall."
"Okay." She obediently put it away, then remembered something and said sweetly to Steven, "Thank you, darling!"
A smile spread across Steven's face.
As soon as Olivia arrived at the hospital, she received a call from Willie.
Willie rubbed his temples and asked her, "Olivia, why did you suddenly check out? Where did you go?"
Olivia said coldly, "You canceled the credit card. Doesn't that mean you don't want to deal with me anymore? And you have the nerve to ask where I went?"
"How could I not care about you?" Willie softened his voice, "I just hope you'll let Willow go."
"For her sake, your whole family wants to drive me to death, don't you?"
"Olivia, I just don't want things to get so tense between relatives. If you do this, how can our family still be relatives with Willow in the future?"
Blaming her for everything again.
Over the years, Olivia didn't know how many times Willie had slandered her.
She said expressionlessly, "I've already said it about this matter—I will definitely pursue it to the end. Don't bother me with this anymore. If you think Willow is innocent, get her a lawyer. The court will decide then."
"Olivia, don't be so angry. I'm just trying to discuss it with you. Also, I won't abandon you. We're husband and wife, I don't want to divorce you." Willie spoke nicely, pretending to be affectionate.
Olivia laughed, "Fine, then transfer me a hundred thousand dollars now. I've transferred hospitals and need medical fees. Transfer it to me, and I'll pay it myself."
Willie was silent for a while. "Olivia, I don't want to argue with you right now."
"I'm asking you to transfer medical fees, and that's arguing?" Olivia was so angry she laughed, "Willie, I'm being very nice right now. Didn't you say you wouldn't abandon me? Then transfer the medical fees."
Olivia thought, Get as much as she could, otherwise, without a penny, she couldn't do anything.
Willie wouldn't give it to her. When a woman had money, she had confidence. Without money, she would obediently listen.
Willie said, "Olivia, where are you? Let me come see you."
"Don't come. From now on, you're you, and I'm me. When I've recovered, I'll come find you to discuss divorce." After saying that, Olivia hung up.
Willie called back.
Olivia felt so annoyed and blocked his number.
She didn't want to cry, but Willie had pushed her to this point, and she really felt like she was going to break down.
She couldn't help it as a wave of sourness surged to her heart, and her eyes blurred again.
Arriving at the location, the ambulance personnel lifted her down from the ambulance.
Olivia lay on the gurney, not wanting people to see her tears. She turned on her side, covering her face as she was wheeled into the hospital.
Alton was waiting at the hospital entrance. Seeing her gurney being pushed over.
He took out a white handkerchief, and as soon as the ambulance approached, he gently handed it to her.
Olivia trembled slightly, looked up through teary eyes. Alton stood before her, wearing a snow-white shirt, the whole person refined and elegant, with extraordinary bearing.
He was handsome like an angel... Their eyes met.
Alton said softly, "Not worth crying over that kind of person."
Olivia was surprised.
How did he seem to know everything?
"The room is on the 5th floor. Let me take you up."
"Thank you," Olivia responded and lay quietly on the gurney.
On this side.
The two returned to Riverside Apartment.
Nora packed things and asked him, "You're saying Alton's hospital rooms allow patients to cook?"
"He said it's okay."
"Should I bring the pot too?"
Steven's face darkened. He went to stop her, holding her hand, "No need. I talked to Alton last night. The room he arranged for Olivia comes with nutritional meals. Someone will deliver three meals a day, enough for two people. You don't need to cook for yourselves."
Nora's hand was held in his large palm, making her a bit shy, "I mean, bring a stew pot to make nutritious food for Olivia."
Oh, a stew pot.
Steven suddenly understood, "That box of nutritional supplements you bought is for Olivia?"
"Yeah, Olivia just had surgery not long ago. She definitely needs to eat some nutritious food."
"I thought you bought it for yourself."
"You think that's possible?" Nora pointed at herself, smiling, "I'm not pregnant or postpartum. Why would I need nutritional supplements? They're so expensive, I couldn't bear to spend that money."
