Chapter 11 Reunion and Return
Maryanne thought Theron had quite the imagination. That incident was months ago.
Could she get pregnant?
A faint smile curved her lips.
“Grandpa, he’s not. But Nebula Group will have an heir soon. You should be happy.”
Theron huffed. “To be the heir, they’ll need your level of competence. No exceptions.”
Maryanne chuckled. “My son will outsmart me, guaranteed.”
“I hope so. Then I can rest in peace,” he joked.
Maryanne glared. “Grandpa, say that again, and I’ll ignore you for a year.”
He was her only family left.
“You brat! At my age, death’s inevitable. Why fuss? Go rest. Your brother said you’ve been hiding at Polaris Mansion for a month. Enough moping. Start work tomorrow.”
Maryanne had planned the same.
It was time to settle scores with those who wronged her. Only the Nielsen family knew her true past.
Untangling her history with Latoya would take time.

“Grandpa, I’ll keep my promise. The new energy project’s core R&D is nearly done. Once I’m back, I’ll handle it.”
“Your return won’t please everyone. Stay safe until I return,” he warned gravely.
Maryanne understood. Her four–year absence wasn’t idle.
She’d kept tabs on the company.
“Don’t worry. I’ll live long enough to infuriate every schemer out there.”
“You!” Theron laughed.
Maryanne hung up and drove toward Polaris Mansion, a manor neighboring Nebula Mansion.
After parking her car, she headed to a nearby mall.
Her priority was buying clothes.
Her wardrobe at home was four years old, most of it unwearable. Her baby bump would show in two months, so maternity wear was a must.
She hadn’t checked her belly this month. At nearly four months, her belly was already noticeable. She needed a hóspital visit soon.
Inside the mall, Maryanne went straight to her boutique.
Maggie Turner, the store manager, was on duty. When she saw Maryanne, she froze.
“Boss…”
Maryanne grinned lazily. “Long time no see, Maggie.”
Maggie cursed under her breath. “It’s been three years! I thought you

abandoned us!”
She tearfully hugged Maryanne.
Maryanne patted her back. “Don’t cry. I was just… training. Now I’m back.”
Maggie was overjoyed.
“You’re staying, right?” Her voice trembled with hope.
Maryanne felt like a deadbeat spouse under her gaze.
“I’m staying. I’ll officially rejoin the company in a few days.”
Maryanne gave her a definite answer.
“Good! Let me pack these new arrivals for you.”
Maggie beamed. With Maryanne back, she wouldn’t be stuck in this tiny shop anymore.
She complained, “This place is suffocating my talent!”
Maryanne smirked. “Meet me in three days. You and Layton will work under me. Stefanie and Geovanni stay as shadows.”
Maggie nodded eagerly. Finally, something was worthwhile.
Just then, a man and woman entered.
The woman glared at Maryanne. “Ms. Nielsen. You’re everywhere, aren’t you?”
