Bonus Chapter 3: Two Weddings and A Proposal Part 3
Freya’s P.O.V

“I don’t even know why I’m nervous…right?” I asked both Mirage and Sarah as they stood making last minute adjustments to my clothes and make-up. “I mean…its Cameron! I can feel him! He’s not going to run away…there’s not going to be any rain, I checked the weather report like…a thousand times…there’s not gonna be a thunderstorm…oh god! Tides! What if the high tides roll in and drown the entire ve-”

“Freya,” Sarah gave me a calm smile… “If you don’t stop panicking, I swear to the Moon Goddess that the only one drowning in the sea tonight will be you and your pretty dress. We get it. You checked all the signs and so did we. EVERYTHING is under control.”

I gave her a nervous laugh as my stomach churned with nervousness. “Oh…god!”

“Oh no!” Mirage rushed to me with a bucket. “Are you sure you’re not pregnant? You’ve been oddly…fidgety all morning…the entire week to be honest. Even at Sarah’s wedding, you were more worried about everything than her.”

“No, I’m not pregnant…I tested three times this week and I’m wondering why ‘she’ wasn’t worried about her own wedding!” I threw up my hands in the air in exasperation. “Did you see her? She was as cool as a cucumber, without a worry in the world!”

“Why would I be worried,” Sarah returned with the make-up kit to touch up the mascara I just ruined a second ago. “And stop panicking! I’m seriously starting to doubt all those pregnancy tests as well.”

“Cameron says that he would’ve known if I were pregnant.” I shrugged, looking up at the ceiling, allowing her to use the dry wipes to dab at the mascara from my lower lashes before she reapplied that part once again. “The mate is always supposed to be the first one to know…as if the baby lets its daddy be the first one to know that it’s coming.”

“Shut tight.” She ordered and I closed my eyes to let the mascara dry out. “Well, he is right. The baby is biased that way. Sometimes, even the mother doesn’t know that she’s pregnant at first, not unless her mate confirms it. But I think Cam is right, you’re not pregnant…you’re worried. Spill.”

I sighed deeply, waiting a good few seconds before I opened my eyes to look at my sisters. “Alpha Charles might retire soon…as soon as three years from now…and then Cameron and I’ll have to take over as the Alpha pair.”

“That’s why you’re worried?” Mirage knelt on the floor beside me, her bridesmaid dress a gorgeous pink lace that reached her knees. It was off-shoulder with sleeves down to her elbows and she was wearing pearl drop earring to match the dress. She had also curled her hair and let it loose down her back.

“You know that I have to be a Luna too, right?” Sarah gave me a puffy cheeked frown. “I’m worried too…”

Sarah had chosen a longer dress, one that reached her ankles and had a halter style neckline. Her golden locks were tied back and then she had worn a pearl clip to keep her hair out of her face.

“It’s not just about being the Luna…both Cameron and I have big shoes to fill.” I told them both. “Ever since I came to this pack…I don’t think I have ever known a man more fit to be Alpha than Alpha Charles. He’s the father ever person deserves and the man who gave me a home…a family, when I had no one left in this world. And Luna Malaya…she’s the mother that I missed dearly, the woman who’s the heart and soul of the pack. I can’t even imagine taking their pace…”

“Then don’t.” Sarah took my hand, offering me her calming smile. “Don’t try to take their place…don’t try to be Luna Malaya. Because you’re not her. You’re Freya Wilder MacGyver. You’re going to be a Luna that the pack has never seen. If you try to copy who you idolize, you’ll have to live your entire life trying to live up to everyone’s expectations and filling in shoes that were never meant for you.”

“Perfectly said, my child.”

Startled, I looked towards the door to find Luna Malaya standing there with a gorgeous blue cocktail dress that hugged her figure perfectly. She came inside, shutting the door behind her as Sarah and Mirage moved away from me to give her space.

“I know you’re worried, but when the time comes, I know you will be the best Luna that the people have ever seen,” she reassured me, her smile warm as she held onto my hands tightly. “But tonight isn’t the time to worry about that. Tonight, you wed Cameron and that is what’s more important. Come my child, everyone awaits.”

Nodding I stood up from the chair I had been sitting in and took one last look at my reflection in the mirror. I was having an evening wedding by the beach, right inside the pack territory. So I was wearing a dress with numerous Swarovski crystals. They were sown into the princess style wedding dress that was fitting at the bodice, had full lace sleeves and then flared out at the waist. My makeup was fairly neutral, with a bit of highlighter to glow up the look and I loved how it made me look so flawless.

My veil was short, only reaching down to my knees, but for something blue, I had added an old ring from my mother that I still had at my old house that had a blue crystal on it and for something old…I was wearing the emerald and diamond necklace that once belonged to Malaya and her mother-in-law. Mirage had let me borrow her new heels and I only hoped that I didn’t topple and fall over with just how nervous I was.

“Ready?” Malaya asked once again, as Sarah and Mirage waved at me and went out the door so they could take their places on the aisle.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I took in a deep breath and let it out through my lips.

“Let’s go.”

Alpha Charles gave me a huge smile as soon as he saw me and when he took my hands, I found his palms a bit sweaty. Was he nervous as well?

“I can’t believe this day has finally come.” He told me, his voice filled with happiness. “May the Goddess always be with the two of you.”

Malaya went ahead and headed to the beach and then we followed the carpeted path to the wedding venue where the entire venue was lit up with thousands of fairy lights and beautiful lanterns and thousands of white and red flowers on all the seat and on the sides of the path and finally at the archway behind  the alter. The night was beautiful. Slightly windy, a bit chilly and with clear skies. Just how I had imagined my wedding to be.

And when I looked at the end of the road…there he was…the love of my life…my mate and my to-be-husband…Cameron MacGyver.

Everything else melted away as the both of us let go of the hold on our mating bond that we had since this morning and just like we had expected, the flood of sensations was a kind of experience that I had never felt in my entire life.

Nothing else mattered except for him and me. Nothing else.

And as Alpha Charles handed me over to him, my hands touching his for the first time in the last twenty hours…I realized that this was the start of my forever.
