Cassian POV
“Well? Are you just going to stand there?”
Her voice cracked through my trance like a whip.
I blinked, jolted back to myself. She stood there with her arms folded, eyes locked on mine, like I’d made her wait too long.
“I… I thought you were I was just” The words stumbled out of me, ragged and clumsy. I hadn’t been prepared for this.
She laughed, soft and amused, but there was something threaded through it that curled low in my gut. “Now that my family’s free, you thought I’d leave?” she asked, her gaze sharp as a blade, reading every thought I’d tried to bury.
I couldn’t answer. Because, yeah… a part of me had.
She saw it. Smirked. Then, without another word, she grabbed my hand and tugged me into the room.
Before I realized what was happening, I was perched on the edge of her bed, heart hammering like I’d sprinted ten miles. She stood in front of me, a wicked smile ghosting across her lips.
Then she slid the sheer robe off her shoulders and let it fall.
I forgot how to breathe.
The lingerie beneath was a weapon lace and skin and unshakable confidence. Everything about her said mine, and she wasn’t asking permission.
She climbed onto me without hesitation, straddling my thighs, heat rolling off her in waves. My hands found her waist, not sure if I was grounding myself or surrendering completely.
“You like that?” she whispered in my ear, voice smooth as sin.
My grip tightened, fingers digging into her hips just enough to feel her tremble. Sparks raced up my arms. It felt right. Natural. Ours.
Fang stirred. Finally.
His voice echoed inside my skull, sharp with want. She’s here. She stayed. Let go, Cassian. Stop fighting what’s already ours.
Her body rolled against mine, slow and deliberate, grinding until I was hard and aching with everything I’d held back. Then she leaned in, her breath a scorch against my ear.
“You’re going to have to work for it. For me, Alpha.”
It was the sexiest threat I’d ever heard.
Her scent filled my lungs, her body pressed to mine, and I held her tighter desperate, raw, starved.
Fang was practically snarling now. Claim her. Sink your teeth in. Make it real. Make it final.
But I held back, just barely. Because this wasn’t only about instinct or heat. This was about choosing her openly, fully, without fear.
I wasn’t letting her go. Not now. Not ever.
But then
She slipped off my lap with a sway of her hips and a glint of challenge in her eyes. She meant it. Work for it.
The space between us lit a fuse inside me.
I didn’t hesitate.
Two strides and I had her pinned against the wall, my palm braced beside her head, caging her in. Her breath hitched, but her smile never faltered. She looked up at me, fire burning in her eyes, daring me to break.
“I told you I was a violent man,” I murmured, voice low, rough with need.
She didn’t flinch. Didn’t blink.
“And I told you I liked violence,” she whispered back, her voice curling into a moan that went straight to my spine.
Fuck.
She was it.
She was the end of every wall I’d built and the reason I was tearing them down.
I leaned in, lips brushing her ear, and bit down gently. She shivered. My mouth found the soft spot beneath her jaw the one that made her melt and I kissed it slow, savoring the way her body arched into mine.
Her scent wrapped around me like a drug desire, heat, the unmistakable hum of our bond. It was electric.
“Indira…” I groaned her name like a confession, like a curse. My control hung by a thread, and Fang wasn’t helping.
Take her. She’s ours. She wants this. She’s always wanted this.
I didn’t answer him.
I just grabbed her thighs, lifted her clean off the floor, and pressed her back to the wall. Her legs locked around my waist, pulling me closer trapping me there.
There were only thin scraps of fabric between us now, driving me insane. I wanted them gone. Wanted skin. Wanted to taste every inch of her until she was wrecked, breathless, and mine.
She rolled her hips against me slowly, deliberately, eyes gleaming with mischief. “Thought you wanted me gone,” she teased against my jaw, her voice dangerous.
She knew exactly what she was doing. And she was breaking my mind in the wildest, most addictive way.
I pressed my forehead to hers, breathing hard. “You have no idea what you’ve started,” I warned, my voice trembling with restraint.
She bit her bottom lip, leaned closer, and smiled. “Then finish it.”
“I accept you, Indira Moonchild. Body and soul.”
The words tore out of me raw and unplanned, no hesitation, just truth.
Her eyes widened, lips parting but I didn’t give her a chance to speak. My hand slid between us, sweeping aside the last piece of fabric shielding her from me. She was already soaked, ready, mine.
The heat of her, the way she yielded to my touch, unraveled me completely. I freed myself with shaking hands, barely clinging to control. Then I kissed her devoured her like she was the only thing keeping me alive.
And I sank into her.
Deep.
Her breath caught in my mouth as I pushed in, burying myself to the hilt. It wasn’t just lust. It was something bigger a need that had clawed at me since the day she crashed into my life, stubborn and loud and impossible to ignore.
She arched into me, nails dragging across my shoulders like she was anchoring herself to the moment. Or maybe claiming me.
And I let her. Because she already had me.
Everything else faded doubt, guilt, fear. Nothing existed but the two of us. The rhythm of our bodies, the rush of our bond, the feeling of finally choosing right.
She gasped my name. I whispered hers back, over and over, like a vow.
She didn’t just take me in. She kept me.
And as we moved, as we lost ourselves in each other, I realized something I hadn’t dared believe until now.
This wasn’t about fixing the past.
It was about finally living.
No more regrets.
No more holding back.
No more fucking it up.
This time, I was all in.
