Chapter 162 CHAPTER 162

Chapter 162 CHAPTER 162

JACK

“Jack, everyone is waiting.” Robin mumbled, still a little breathless from our kiss.

“Fuck them.” I brushed away wisps of hair framing her face. “It’s very hard to focus on anything else when you look this unbelievably beautiful”

“We could start by not keeping the officiant waiting.” Her eyes drifted towards the renowned officiant, whose scowl had only deepened.

Did I care I was wasting his time?

Absolutely fucking not.

I slipped an arm around her waist, drawing her closer and pinning my lips all over her neck, slowly dragging kisses to her cheeks.

Flawless everywhere.

Every fucking pore on her skin was perfect.

“Jesus, Jack.” Robin breathed, surrounding my shoulders with her arms while I toured every inch of her perfect body.

“Do you promise to honour, obey and love me until we’re grey and frail?” She grinned, nodding.

“I do. And do you vow to be reasonable, less possessive and a little less controlling?” She whispered against my skin, brushing her lips softly against mine.

“Never.” I pulled her deliciously fuckable mouth into mine, raving wild as our tongues lapped and stroked together.

“You already know I love you. You already know I’d give my life for you, and you also know you’ll always come first, in everything.”

I rested my forehead against hers.

“You’re my life Robin, the fucking best thing that ever happened to me. Love me forever, please.” She smiled, her eyes shimmering. My lips got to work, stroking every tear from her beautiful face.

“I don’t think there’s a universe where I could ever exist without you, Jack. You own my heart, my body, my soul.” She let out a soft quivering breath. “I love all of you Jack— even the unreasonable, neurotic and fucking insane parts.” I narrowed my eyes on her, thinking to what extreme her vulgar mouth was going to keep up swearing.

“I’m against your potty mouth Mrs McCullen.” I whispered, grinning at her.

“I’m afraid you’d have to take me as I am, Mr McCullen.” We stopped grinning, our gazes locking in each other’s eyes. And for one perfect moment the rest of the world disappeared to just us.

There was only her.

The love of my fucked-up life and me.

How the hell on this bloody planet had I become lucky enough to deserve this woman. This must be a freaking dream, and if it was, I never wanted to wake up.

Ever.

“What exactly is my purpose here?” The officiant’s dry remark shattered the silence, dragging our attention to the present and encouraging a hearty applause and laughter, rippling from the mass of people surrounding us.

“Tell us to exchange rings and kiss, I suppose.” More laughter followed, my eyes never daring to drift away from my angel’s face.

There were no words, existing and nonexistent to accurately describe just how magnificent she looked. I managed to get my weak arse in gear, quickly exchanging our rings before joining our mouths together again, not waiting a second for the officiant’s command.

“Hello wife.” I grabbed her from behind, wrapping my arms around her and removing her from the throng of endless well-wishers.

“Hello husband.” She cocked her head to the side, giving me her cheek.

“Ready to leave?” I nibbled her ear playfully.

“You want us to leave our wedding reception?”

“Precisely. We’ve got a flight to catch.” I turned her gently to face me, dying to see the full curve of her face. This was better. “Go say goodbye to your family.”

I nudged her onwards to a busy Lindsey, deep in conversation with one of McCullen Heights’ international investors, looking relaxed and free for the first time since the passing of her husband.

I watched as she pulled Robin in an embrace for what felt like forever, Lindsey muttering something to Robin before wiping her own tears.

Then came Lana, brief conversation followed by another long exhausting hug. Then Margaret.

By this point my patience had completely evaporated. I needed my fucking bride, she belonged to me.

My legs were more powerful than the waning patience, making my way to Robin and scooping her clean off the ground in front of the multitude, disappearing with her and leaving everyone gawping once again.

Were they really surprised?

“Ma…ma…” Jake toddled towards us on unsteady little legs before tumbling onto his bottom just short of the door. I let Robin slip smoothly down from my arms before she bent low, picking him up.

“My God, I’m going to miss my babies so much.” She gathered him close, rocking him up and down in her arms.

“Are you sure going so far away for our honeymoon and leaving the babies behind is such a good idea?” She looked at me anxiously. Even when I had assured her a billion times she didn’t have to. The triplets were in safe hands with Cathy and three other professional nannies. Yes, I had brought Cathy to the fort, we couldn’t do without her, the mansion had no one living in it she wasn’t going to waste her services overlooking an empty space.

“They’re going to be fine baby, I assure you. Cathy will make sure that.”

“Happy Birthday, Mrs McCullen.” Cathy appeared with Elaine and Jessica on either side of her shoulder. “And congratulations to both of you. I wish you all the happiness the world has to offer.” Cathy smiled at us, before I took over the babies from her grip.

They felt so big already, my goodness.

“Thank you, Cathy. You can still call me Robin. Marriage hasn’t changed who I am.”

Cathy nodded.

“You really don’t need to worry about the babies. I’m here full time, I’ll make sure they lack nothing while you’re away.”

Robin covered her face, hiding in her palm. “Oh God you heard me?”

“I wasn’t far behind Jake.” Cathy’s lips curled into a soft smile. “It’s only three weeks. Enjoy being newlyweds, have fun. You deserve it. Both of you.” She gave us her sweetest smile before disappearing down the hallway, leaving us alone.

“I told you there was nothing to worry about.” I ambled to her side, joining our foreheads before pressing my lips onto hers. “Have I ever given you a cause to worry?”

She slowly shook her head, releasing a soft sigh.

“Your peace, your happiness, your smile… they’re my greatest priorities, baby. They always will be. I’m never jeopardising that.”

She smiled.

“Then take me away from here.” She whispered, seductive eyes gazing at me.

I dipped, kissing Jake on his forehead, then Elaine’s, followed by Jessica’s.

Finally…

My wife. My most prized treasure.

My family.

Without them, there was no me. They were all I lived for, all I breathed for.

The love from my wife, and my children makes me who I am. An earth-shaking love – so pure, so blissful, so complete that I’d lay my life to protect it.

Holding my babies in my arms, my wife still clothed in her spectacular wedding dress gazing at me with those big brown eyes, I knew I’d made it in life.

Not because of my material wealth.

Not because of my power, or my success …but the type of wealth money could never afford.

Love.

This was supposed to happen to me, a single job interview in my office had turned into a lifetime of happiness.

And even then, it would still not be enough, eternity and after, and I’d still choose her.

My Robin.

My reason to live.

My everything.

Jack McCullen is my name.

And I am the luckiest bastard in the whole fucking world because no other person, dead or alive could ever boast of being as happy as I am.

No one could ever convince me otherwise.
