Chapter 6

ETHAN ‘SINNETT’ VOLKOV.

Romeo, oh art thou fucking Romeo.

Theodore Archibald or as I like to call him ‘Teddy’ didn’t listen to a word I said.

I went shopping for Violet’s outfits, I put the box with the big bow on her bed, I cut myself with the pink little scissors on her vanity.

More than that?

I put cameras in every inch of her room I could find.

Many hours later, I’m watching the same video on my phone with an unbelievable smile on my face.

She called me disgusting. For what? Having a fucking boner and her shamelessly grinding her pussy covered panties on said boner?

I could have gone further.

Showed her what disgusting meant.

Showed her what it felt like to be taken by a real man.

Spread her folds apart, sank in her cunt before taking her ass while I watched those plump lips of hers tremble and those witching eyes glare at me like she hated herself, hated me, hated the idea of having sex with a guy like me.

But with Theodore Archibald ladies and gentlemen?

Her Romeo?

She doesn’t find him disgusting. Not in the video I’m watching. No.

The cameras don’t have audio but I can spot the bullshit he tells her from a street away.

And sweet Zadie Colkin? She eats Theodore’s words like a champ out to win a medal.

Then he kisses her and our violet-eyed Juliet swoons like a prima donna.

She invites him to the bed and I watch with fascination as they sleep.

Lucky for the prick, he doesn’t touch what’s mine under the sheets.

Unlucky for Zadie, she’ll have to learn to stay away from the prick the hard way. I’m the only human being she’s making contact with and I won’t share.

And unlucky for those bedsheets, they are going to burn.

I switch my phone off, knocking on the door a second time.

Five a.m. is too early, I know but Millicent Volkov has decided she won’t answer my calls, she’ll speak to everyone in my damn mansion except me. So here I am making sure she’s alright.

The door opens.

Cheap perfume, the type that strippers bathe in, hog my nostrils as blonde hair, tiny Minnie Mouse shorts and a crop top that says ‘I’ve got milk’ comes to sight.

“Omg, Sin!” Millie’s roommate squeals and I invite myself in.

I fucked this chick once. Couldn’t remember her name afterward.

My hand grasps Millie’s door knob.

The door is locked.

I take out a key from my pocket plunging it in.

“She’s been under the weather since… well since what you did. Tried to comfort her but I think the only thing that can cheer her up is a party. I can totally take her to your party if you hand me an invite. We could have some fun like old ti-.”

I push the door open ignoring the chick’s words behind me.

Two things happen at once.

My sister who’s seated near her desk whips her head around and our eyes meet.

The man speaking to my sister on her laptop gazes at me and I dish back the same look.

“See, Daddy? This is what I mean. He… he won’t let me breathe. Not for a second and I’m tired of all this babysitting bullshit”, Millie huffs.

Our father calms her down. Like he’s always done with her.

“I’ll sort this out, baby girl. Why don’t you give your brother and me a few minutes to talk? Yeah?”

Millie’s blue eyes land on me then back to my dad and she huffs, “Okay. Tell him to back off, Dad. It’s my life, not his.”

“Got it”, dad smiles.

Millie walks past me like an angry smurf.

I close the door after her sauntering to the desk and taking a seat in the white chair to face my father who’s on video call.

“Dad.”

“You broke his arm?”

“He had it coming.”

“Millie says she loves him. Does the prick love her?”

“Doubtful. He didn’t say any of that when I beat him up.”

“How rough did you go at him?”

“Broken arm, a few loose teeth, might have a small concussion.”

My dad chuckles. Proud of me.

Christian Volkov has always been proud of me but he hates that I’m more brutal than he ever was.

“Good. I would have wiped his existence for even thinking of dating my daughter.”

“I threatened to end him if he comes close to Millie. It can still happen.”

“Jesus Christ, Ethan. No. Your mother will kill me if you kill anyone when you are barely twenty-two. Watch the prick, keep him far away from Millie, he’s not worthy of her.”

I could tell him not to call me ‘Ethan’.

I haven’t been Ethan for a long time.

I could tell him I killed someone when I was eighteen but that would mean dad being worried and mom knowing and blaming herself for how I turned out to be.

“I will. Dad.”

“Your mother can’t know we had this conversation. Protect them. Love you, son.”

Protect Liam and Mia.

I understand the reason why. My siblings are like our mother. Fragile, too trusting.

Me? I’m like this man and much more.

“Love you too, dad.”

The call ends.

I have a one-on-one talk with Millie. And she agrees to text back when I text her albeit hesitantly.

I could stay and argue.

I could stay and tell her lip-filler roommate, we are never going to fuck again.

But I don’t.

I’m supposed to be in my mansion waiting for my maid to arrive.

XxX

“Damn mama, where have you been all my life? My matushka’s cooking doesn’t even come close to this. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner”, Rhys’ irritating voice greets me from the main door and I walk to the kitchen, her peaches scent hovering in the air like the smell of dry earth under the mercy of rain.

“Matushka?”

Her voice echoes into the air as well and there’s a slight humor in her voice.

Like she’s too happy being here.

“Mother. In Russian”, Liam’s voice follows and by the time I get to the kitchen… well would you look at that?

The boys meant to represent the Graves; the single most dominant and terrifying club in this pathetic school are all seated like a bunch of Peter Pan’s lost boys cooing over food and a certain chick in my kitchen.

And this chick?

She has her dark hair up in a ponytail, a strawberry-patterned apron on top of a grey tee and those high-waisted jean skirts that accentuate her ass and hips.

Rhys is the first one to notice me as he beckons to where he’s at.

Zadie turns around, fails to give me her eyes as she takes a clean plate, puts eggs, bacon, beef sausages and hash browns on it.

My men are on high alert.

They should be.

Whatever they are eating is meant for me, not for them.

Like the servant she is and should be, she walks to me and presents me my breakfast.

I look at the eggs, the crispy bacon, the even crispier hash browns.

I make a decision then and then.

I’m not touching her food.

I take the plate off her hands in a second.

The next second, I smash the plate on the floor watching the contents scatter everywhere with no remorse.

Violet flinches with a gasp.

None of the guys say shit.

“Pick it up”, I snarl.

“Sin? Stop this”, my holier-than-thou twin interrupts and my eyes fling to his jarred ones.

“Do I question your shit, Liam? If the answer’s no and I know it’s a ‘no’ then back off. Zadie’s here to do anything I want her to do. Isn’t that right Colkin?”

Her eyes fall to the floor where my huge feet overpower her Converse sneakers.

“Yes”, she utters.

She bends to the floor; I stand behind her.

They ate my food, ain’t no way they are looking at her ass too.

“Leave”, I issue the order.

Most of the guys leave.

Rhys shakes his head with a smirk, “I don’t know what kind of kink you two have going on but she’s a pretty damn cook, Sin. I’m not letting her go.”

“She’s mine”, I grit like a petulant child and Rhys scoffs walking away.

“You are going too far”, Liam warns with that look my mother has when she’s disappointed in me.

I couldn't care less.

But the little hiss the girl behind me lets out has me caring more.

By the time I turn around, Violet is holding her index finger in her hand, a few drops of blood falling on the piece of plate that cut her.

“Violet-.”

“I’m okay. I’m okay. It’s nothing…it’s just a small cut.”

It’s not.

I walk around her, kneeling on the floor to be at her level.

“Let me see.”

“It’s fine.”

Liar.

“Let me see your finger.”

She hides her finger.

But instead shows me her crystal lavender eyes.

“Was it the eggs? Do you not like them scrambled? I just… the other guys liked everything so I thought I made everything okay but you…”

“We are not having this conversation right now, Violet. Show me that cut on your finger.”

“Why do you care about a stupid cut when you couldn’t even take a bite of food I prepared for almost an hour?”

“I need your hands.”

“To touch you?” she asks, incredulous.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“No one else can touch me except you.”

My answer’s vague, she’s about to ask another question but I say ‘to hell with it’, stand up, lean down, lift her off the ground and into my arms.

She trembles in my arms.

I hang tight to those thighs as I walk around the mess and start for the stairs.

“I don’t understand what that means, Sinnett.”

Even the way she says my name sounds as complicated as that peach scent that bugs my nerves.

“You are not meant to.”

“Don’t I deserve answers if I’m going to be remaking your breakfast every day?”

“Not when you break rules, no.”

“I didn’t-.”

“I must have imagined Teddy in your room then.”

The silence follows all the way to my room.

I place her on my bed, walking to my office and getting my first aid kit but by the time I’m back, Violet is already standing in the middle of the room with an expression that says ‘I’ll beg and do anything for my Romeo.’

“He- he wanted to say goodbye. He wanted to check how I was-.”

He kissed what was mine.

“I explained what being ‘mine’ meant. To him. For three days, Colkin. The jock doesn’t get it if he’s bold enough to jump in bed with you. At this point, I’ll have to drill the name in his skull for him to get it. Maybe in bold-.”

“Stop.”

“Maybe yank all his teeth and make him a necklace that spells ‘mine’-.”

“He didn’t-.”

“You let him touch you.”

“I didn’t like it”, her words come out like a complaint and she makes me halt.

“Does Theodore Archibald disgust you, violet?”

“What? No.”

Then I have my answer.

“Seth invited you to a party. The one that happens tonight, right? Go home, change, come back, we are going to that party.”

“I don’t go to parties.”

“Tough shit, violet. You are still coming. Either that or I hunt down your boy toy and finish what I started.”

And I am finishing what I started with Theodore Archibald tonight.

That crush she has on the jock will die tonight, at that party and I don’t feel an ounce of shame in stomping on her heart and breaking it to pieces.

I can’t share my cure to human touch with anyone.

And she’ll understand that soon.
