Chapter 27 - Wrong Angle
Edmund was in trouble, Regina’s lustful eyes were hovering all over him. She traced her lips with her tongue in a slow motion, her breath blowing flames to his body.
The power she used to exert over him was still written in every cell of his skin, and it was very demanding to put out the fire rushing through his veins.
His gaze landed on her disarming breasts that were very much visible through her black nightgown, a mere piece of see-through lace fabric, that also revealed her bare pussy. A sudden constriction in the throat made it challenging for him to swallow his saliva.
His breath hitched as her hands unbuttoned his shirt while she rubbed her lower half against his cock that was throbbing painfully in his pants.
‘Motherfucker!’ He inwardly cursed.
She leaned her head and took his earlobe between her lips and tugged gently, tantalizing him before swirling her tongue inside.
“Did you miss this? Did you miss making love to me?” She whispered sending erotic signals trough his body.
‘Miss her. The one that ruined me. The one that broke my heart without even saying ‘goodbye’.’
He shut his eyes, his mind fighting for control over his own body, striving to sync with the horrendous reality.
This woman that he loved and adored with all his being, the one that abandoned him making him wonder over and over again what he did wrong, the one that ripped his heart and left him bleeding, blaming himself for whatever caused her unexpected departure.
‘She thinks that I would forgive her, take her back as if nothing happened. Well, that’s never going to materialize.’
She turned him into a calculated, bitter and he might even say merciless man, one that forced out any sort of warm feeling, that until Isabella came into his life and mended the pieces of his broken heart.
‘Isabella.’ He suddenly remembered his wife.
Isabella possessed a lot of qualities besides being breathtakingly gorgeous. She withheld that rare innocence and a sort of vulnerability that caused his protective instincts to hit the roof, he would do anything to shield her from suffering.
‘What would she think if she would witness another woman sitting in my lap almost naked?’
His jaw clenched, cold sweat traveled down his spine removing all his other temporary emotions. His body stiffened at the thought of hurting Isabella, his wife, the woman that already had a target sign on her back just because she had the misfortune of meeting him.
He gripped Regina’s wrist and removed her hand from his chest. “What are you doing here?” His voice came out life threatening.
She completely ignored him. “Remember that time when we spent four hours in the jacuzzi?” A wicked smile flashed on her face. “That was a rhetorical question, darling, it was not something that could be forgotten. What I’m saying is that we can do it again, it was all taken care of, I even added a few drops of the jasmine oil you so much adore, and white rose petals.”
Her free hand reached over and touched a strand of hair that had fallen on his forehead. “I really want to show you how much I’ve missed you, how deeply I care for you, how much I love you.”
‘Was I this stupid and easy to manipulate in the past? I cannot believe how blind I was to fall for her fake show and false pretense of affection, but that was back then, now it’s different.’
“Whatever we had, it ended years ago. Accept it and you can stay here. Respect my home and my wife for whatever you are selling, I’m not buying. If you choose to leave, you can do it the way you know best, without saying ‘goodbye’.” He explained in a casual tone.
Her eyes opened widely revealing a lethal glare, a shocked moan left her chest and he could pick out a war of emotions fighting inside her, one uglier than the other. He detected hate, outrage, a sort of aversion and some other ill feelings that he could not place.
She glared at him dumbstruck, not being able to assimilate the fact that she has just been rejected, most probably for the first time in her life.
“Please do me the honor of removing yourself from my lap, this spot is reserved for someone else.”
He winked as he fired his demand, his hand catching hers just before hitting his face.
“Try that again and you’ll bear the consequences. Now leave!”

Meanwhile, inside their matrimonial room, Isabella was struggling to relax. For some odd reason, she was not able to do it, even after she took a long and well-deserved bath.
Her mind kept going to that dreadful contract that she had signed without reading the terms, compelled by her momentary fear of not seeing her sister alive.
She was expecting to find Edmund in their room after she got out of the bathroom, but she even had time to dry her hair and he was yet to show up.
She waited a little longer before deciding to go check up on him, maybe he was retained with his business, he did say he had some phone calls to make.
It was not her intention to interrupt him while he was working, she was pretty much aware that he neglected his duties in the last few days, she just wanted to procure her copy of the contract and return to their room to read it. Maybe even pass by the kitchen to retrieve that tea.
As she crossed the corridor, she heard more than his voice coming from his office, it appeared that he had company, a woman.
‘Moira?’
She stopped midway, inwardly debating if to disturb him or not, yet her intuition drove her to edge closer to the half-opened door, she peeked inside.
The air left her lungs in the blink of an eye, she was not prepared for the waves of pain that washed over her entire body or for the daggers that pierced her heart, making breathing unbearable as she watched the scene unfolding before her eyes.
That woman, Regina, was on top of him, her body’s swaying in their sexual act’s rhythm.
She took a step back and leaned on the wall, her knees grew too weak to support her shivering body.
‘So that was the business that needed his immediate attention.’
She felt so foolish for putting her faith in him, so foolish to hope that he had feelings for her, that they could make that absurd marriage work, that they could be happy together.
‘You are so stupid, Isabella! Stupid, stupid, stupid!’
Never in her entire life had she felt so enraged, the abominable bastard had sex with her in the parking lot and only a few hours later, he rolled around with his mistress in the office.
The simple thought made her sick to her stomach. ‘This is the type of man I’m married to, a man that has intimate relations with another woman under the roof he shares with his wife.’
As she finally gathered the strength in her legs to leave, she forgot how to breathe as she heard the door closing.
The timing couldn’t be more awful. Regina was standing in front of her in all her mighty glory, and every inch of her fabulous figure was exposed through the flaunting lace clothing.
Her scrutinizing glare was traveling over Isabella's body, eyeing her from head to toe, and she could almost swear that there was a tint of jealousy clouding her eyes.
‘This woman is perfect in every single aspect, am I imagining things?’
Regina suddenly cracked a huge smile, which seemed rather feigned. “Don’t go inside just yet, you might find him undressed and I don’t think that you’ll be comfortable with the view. I’m sorry you had to witness our illicit meeting. Please believe that we are not usually like that. In most cases, he loves to take his sweet time claiming and worshiping every speck of my body, yet today we had to be quick as he is very busy.”
Her words made Isabella’s heart drop from her chest.
“Are you his personal assistant?” She inquired, putting up an innocent act.
Isabella felt tears pricking her eyes, clouding her vision, yet she struggled to contain them, not to offer her the satisfaction.
‘Her needs were already satisfied by my husband.’
“His wife.” She declared nonchalantly.
Regina’s eyes widened and she put a hand on her mouth in what it seemed simulated stupefaction.
‘It’s obvious this was not the first time she heard this piece of information.’
“He never told me that he has a wife.” Her statement only doubled Isabella’s pain. “I’m sorry, if I would have known, I would have never accepted his taunting proposal, no matter how amazingly generous he is in the intimacy.”
‘Moira was right, Regina is an awful person.’
Isabella turned her back to her and made her way to her room.
‘I’m going to get the hell out of here and never return.’
