Chapter 182 Instant Solution
Chapter 182 Instant Solution
Not far from the Russo estate, Nico Moretti slowly opened his eyes.
For several seconds, he didn't remember where he was.
Then the cold concrete beneath his body reminded him.
He was lying inside an abandoned, unfinished building.
There were no windows.
Only empty spaces where windows were supposed to be.
The walls were rough and unfinished.
Dust covered the floor.
A few broken pieces of wood lay scattered around the room.
Nico slowly pushed himself upright.
Pain immediately shot through his shoulder.
He winced.
His hand instinctively moved toward the bandage.
The wound was still there.
He had escaped the Moretti estate.
But he hadn't escaped his problems.
Nico looked around.
He had spent the night there because he had nowhere else to go.
He couldn't return to the Moretti estate.
He couldn't go to Viktor.
And he couldn't approach his father again.
Not after everything that had happened.
Nico rubbed his tired face.
His thoughts immediately returned to Bianca.
He wondered how she was doing?
The last time he had seen her, she had been taken to a cell on his father's orders.
Well, not his father.
Was Bianca still alive?
Was Don Roman still holding her prisoner?
Nico's jaw tightened.
He couldn't stop thinking about her.
Bianca had been through enough.
She had been betrayed by her own father.
She had been caught between Don Roman and Don Russo.
And now she was trapped inside the very estate that had once been her home.
Nico slowly stood.
His legs were stiff from sleeping on the floor.
He walked toward the opening where a window would eventually be installed and looked outside.
The morning sun had already risen.
The city was beginning to come alive.
Vehicles moved along the roads.
People walked to work.
Shops were beginning to open.
It looked like an ordinary morning.
But Nico knew better.
For him, nothing was ordinary anymore.
He had spent his entire life surrounded by power, money, violence and the Moretti name.
Now he was hiding in an abandoned building with a wounded shoulder.
He had no money.
No protection.
No loyal soldiers.
And no idea what he was going to do next with his life.
But there was one thing he couldn't ignore.
Bianca.
"I need to get her out."
Nico whispered the words to himself.
He began pacing.
Getting back inside the Russo estate was impossible.
Don Roman's men would be everywhere.
They could even kill him on sight.
And if Don Roman discovered Nico was trying to free Bianca, there was no telling what he would do.
Nico stopped.
Maybe he could try to speak to Don Roman again.
Maybe.
But would Don Roman listen?
After everything Nico had done?
He had betrayed him.
He had helped Viktor.
He had participated in the attempt to bring Don Roman down.
Don Roman had every reason to hate him.
Yet Don Roman had spared his life.
Twice now.
That thought troubled Nico.
But he still needed to get Bianca out of there.
He was the one that had convinced her to follow him to speak to Don Roman.
He had thought Don Roman would believe her, and heed to her warnings about her father and Viktor.
But she got locked up instead.
Nico looked down at the ground.
He had to find a way in.
He thought about the estate.
He didn't know all its entrances.
The guards there were now all Morettis, and they knew who he was.
And even if Nico managed to get inside, getting Bianca out would be another problem.
He needed help.
Someone he could trust.
Nico frowned.
Who?
There was no one he could trust to help with such a task.
He was really on his own.
Nico sighed.
He couldn't sit here forever.
Every minute he wasted could put Bianca in greater danger.
He needed to move.
He stepped toward the entrance of the abandoned building.
Then stopped.
Something caught his attention.
Far in the distance, he could hear vehicles.
Several of them.
Nico cautiously moved closer to the opening and looked toward the road.
He saw buses moving towards the Russo estate.
He stared at them absentmindedly.
Then he looked back toward the direction of the Russo estate.
Bianca was there.
Helpless and alone.
He had to find a way to reach her.
Even if it meant risking his own life.
He took a deep breath.
"Hold on, Bianca."
His voice was barely above a whisper.
"I'm coming for you."
Suddenly one of the buses stopped not far from where he stood.
Nico stood and looked at it curiously.
It wasn't a bus stop, so why had the bus stopped abruptly?
Then the door of the bus pulled open, and a figure stepped out of it.
It was a young lady.
She looked very familiar to him.
Nico kept looking at her, until she looked up and met his gaze.
They held each other's gaze for a long moment.
Then he heard her call his name.
"Nico Moretti?"
Nico smiled.
He had finally gotten a way back into the Russo estate.
