Chapter 325: You Look Beautiful

Abigail

I knew the day was going to be fine, Rodrigo would never do that to me. He loves me, but there is always a slim chance that his fear of becoming his father or possibly changing after marriage would overwhelm the love he had for me.

“Mummy?” I opened my eyes, looking into the mirror where Joy timidly stood by the door of the bathroom, fiddling with her hands. I smiled, my eyes tearing up again as I moved towards her and knelt down to her level.

“You look beautiful.”

“Really?” She smiled, raising her head to look at me. She had on a beautiful white dress, the top was made of smooth satin and the skirt was covered with tulle fabric. A pearl necklace was placed around her neck with matching earrings. Her hair was in a loose but clean bun with two thick strands twisted back and pinned into it. Two pieces of lightly curled hair ring hung free on each side of her face. My eyes fell on her lips, seeing the gloss she put on and I lightly gasped.

“You got into my makeup again? Daddy is going to be mad.” She frowned.

“But it is a special occasion.” I smiled.

“Just this once.”

“Are you okay, mummy?” She asked me, placing her hand on my damp check and wiping a tear away with her thumb. I held her hand and kissed it, placing mine on her face and pulling her in for a tight hug. She has only been with us for a couple of months, yet she reads me as if I am translucent.

“I am now.” I assured her.

After cleaning myself up from the little meltdown, I started my makeup. Lucy, Edith and Sonia came in, their makeup and hair done.

“How are you feeling?” Edith asked, placing a hand on my shoulder. I nodded.

“I am good,  I am sure it will be fine.” I gulped, looking at Sonia.

“Have you talked to Nicolas? Is Rodrigo okay? He is not having doubts or anything, is he?”

She smiled pitifully at me while heading my way and crouching down beside my chair. Taking my shaking hand, she held them tightly in hers.

“I did talk to Nicolas, he told me Rodrigo is just as anxious as you but very ready to do this. You are going to be okay, he is not going anywhere.”

I nodded as Lucy began to take my hair out of the rollers and did my hair for me while Sonia did my eye makeup and Edith picked out my lipstick. When they all backed away, revealing the finished look, I pouted and felt tears once again.

“No!” The three of them yelled in unison, fanning my eyes and tipping my chin up to keep the tears in. Lucy pinned half of my hair up, leaving some of the front pieces out. My makeup was more extravagant, false lashes on top of a winged eyeliner and a gold summery smokey eye with a nude and matte lip. Sonia gently kissed the top of my head.

“We will see you outside, okay?” I heard her voice break as she turned away and rushed out, hiding her tears for everyone.

“Come on, baby. Mommy has got to get ready.” Lucy said as she and Edith took Joy and followed Sonia out, closing the door behind them. My eyes shifted to Agnes who smiled lovingly at me

“Are you ready?” She asked and I nodded.

“Then, let's get you in your dress, darling.”

I walked out to the main room of the penthouse where the girls were waiting. They stood in line with their backs to me. I smiled at how they looked in the same silky dresses. They perfectly matched the theme of the venue.

“Okay, girls.” Agnes said, adjusting my veil and dress to their first look at me.

As they all turned to look, their mouths fell open in astonishment. Each of them gave me a tight hug and comforting words, my eyes fell on Joy, who wiped at her eyes. I crouched down and pulled her in for a hug trying my hardest not to cry.

“Don't cry, sweetheart.” I sniffed, wiping her eyes for her.

“You look like a princess.” She told me, I pecked her with a bunch of kisses, receiving little laughs in response.

“Thank you, baby.” I nudged my nose against hers.

“Boop,” she smiled.

A car waited downstairs for us, after pulling in, we drove for less than a minute and reached the venue. I struggled to put my shoes on through the many layers my dress had, having to ask Edith to put them on for me.  As we entered the building, we looked around together in awe. I told Rodrigo that I wanted one thing on our wedding day, that was to feel like this day was pulled straight out of a Disney movie. Looking around in adoration, all I wanted was for him to be right in front of me so that I could show him how much I appreciate it. He took my dreams and made them a reality.

Surrounding us was a hall that mimicked an enchanted forest, the aisle was a sparkling white, sitting in the center of bushes that were covered in light pink flowers while the walls were covered in blue corals. He made all of this possible for me. The girls gave me a hug and Agnes after adjusting everything once more. They approached a white steel gate that had two pillars on each side of it and walked through it, leaving me alone as they made their entrances.

“Are you ready, kiddo?” Alec asked beside me and I nodded my head. He linked our arms and patted my hand.

“You look beautiful.”

I thanked him and the music started playing through the speakers, my cheeks flushed red as the instrument version of my favourite wedding song began playing through the speakers.

“Was this the best song choice?” I asked, now embarrassed of my choice of song.

“I think it is adorable, but if anyone has got shit to say about it, Rodrigo will get his gun on him.” He replied. I fought hard not to smile as we entered the gate, stopping for a moment as the large rose gold curtains were pulled away from each side, revealing everyone on the other side.

All the guests, most of whom I didn't know, stood up and faced me. I tightened my hold on Alec as he began walking me down. I was thankful for the veil laying over my face, it didn't hide me but I convinced myself that it did and that I didn't need to be embarrassed by all of these people who shoot others for a living and have been invited to a Disney themed wedding with this being the bride’s entrance song.

I lifted my gaze as we walked between all of the people. At the end of the aisle was a floral arbour with green leaves and different shades of pink flowers. The ceiling decor matched the arbour with pink flowers and warm light to brighten up the room.
