Chapter 102 He Still Likes Me More

Chapter 102 He Still Likes Me More

After two hours of intense battle, Olivia was completely drained of energy.

Feeling her throat dry and tight, she patted Alexander beside her, her voice hoarse. "Thirsty..."

Alexander immediately got up, the blanket sliding off, exposing his muscular body.

His naked body made Olivia so embarrassed that she covered her eyes with the blanket, too shy to look.

Seeing her shyness, Alexander felt like teasing her and joked. "You just touched and tasted everything, so why are you too shy to look now?"

He leaned down to kiss her cheek, his tongue gently licking her ear. The warm, wet sensation made Olivia moan softly.

"No, no! I really have no energy left!" Seeing Alexander grabbing her hand to guide it downward, Olivia quickly pulled back, refusing repeatedly, "Next time, I promise next time!"

Afraid he wouldn't agree, she quickly said she felt sticky and uncomfortable, reaching out her arms for him to carry her to the bathroom to clean up.

Alexander stopped, his tone indulgent, his eyes full of affection. "Okay, okay."

After helping Olivia drink some water, he bent down and picked her up.

Olivia rested her head against his chest, about to close her eyes and rest, when she suddenly remembered something and opened her eyes wide. "Wait!"

"What's wrong?"

"You!" Olivia stared in shock at his legs that were now walking, "You! You're walking! Your legs are better?!"

"When did they heal?" She was both surprised and delighted, afraid this was a dream. She even pinched her own cheek, and after confirming the pain, her eyes welled up with tears, "It's really not a dream!"

"I could walk again a week ago." Right when their cold war started.

Alexander carefully placed Olivia in the bathtub, then got in himself.

He held her from behind, gently wiping the sticky fluids from her body with a towel.

Seeing Olivia suddenly go quiet, Alexander rested his chin on her shoulder, a hint of unease in his voice. "Are you angry? Because I didn't tell you right away."

Olivia shook her head. She bit her lip, her voice already choking up when she spoke. "I'm just happy."

She had been worried all along that he would be trapped in a wheelchair forever, even afraid that his disability was her fault.

There were many things she didn't dare say out loud, afraid that once spoken, they would have no way back.

Tears burst out, dripping onto the water surface. Olivia sniffled, unable to explain why she was crying so hard.

Alexander kissed her hair, gently wiped away her tears with the towel, and explained, "Silly girl, I had my concerns about not immediately announcing my legs' recovery, but I didn't want to hide it from you."

He didn't want to give false hope before things were settled. Didn't want her to see all the injuries and tears he shed during countless days and nights of recovery. And he was even more afraid.

Afraid she would once again throw away his sincere heart like garbage and run to James.

But all his concerns shattered completely during tonight's heart-to-heart conversation.

"Olivia, I trust you, so I don't plan to hide it from you. I didn't immediately..."

Olivia covered Alexander's mouth. She looked at him and simply said, "I trust you."

He held a high position, surrounded by countless threats. Just telling her about this was enough to make her happy.

The water rippled as their bodies pressed together again.

It wasn't until an hour later that they finally came out of the bathroom.

A sleepless night.

In the morning, Olivia and Alexander went to work together.

In the underground parking garage, Alexander reluctantly kissed Olivia's lips, his eyes tender, "I'm leaving."

Seeing him about to kiss her again, Olivia pushed his chest, pretending to be annoyed. "Go on, don't let anyone see us later."

One James was annoying enough. If her colleagues found out she was dating him, she wouldn't be able to work in peace.

"I'll come find you at lunch." Alexander left reluctantly.

As soon as she entered the company, the receptionist called out to Olivia. "Ms. Harper, wait!"

"What's the matter?" Olivia immediately had a bad feeling.

"There are flowers for you." The receptionist smiled and pulled out a bouquet from under the counter, "I was just about to send them up to you, and here you are."

Olivia didn't take them. She knowingly flipped through the card on the bouquet, and seeing James's signature, she smiled slightly and withdrew her hand, "Could you throw them away for me? Or do whatever you want with them."

She thought yesterday's rejection would stop James, but he persisted.

She didn't feel touched at all, only increasingly annoyed.

"Okay." Seeing she didn't want them, the receptionist smiled awkwardly and put the flowers back.

As soon as Olivia reached her desk, her phone vibrated.

Not another good morning message from James, right?

She opened her phone with irritation, but when she saw the sender was Alexander, all her annoyance instantly disappeared.

After a little flirting with Alexander, Olivia finally put away her happy mood and focused back on work.

At noon, twelve o'clock sharp, her phone rang on time.

Olivia instinctively thought it was Alexander coming to take her to lunch, her eyes smiling. "Where are you?"

"Olivia, I'm at home." Isabella's voice came through the phone.

Olivia's smile immediately dropped. "What now?"

Hearing her serious words, Isabella pretended to be hurt. "Olivia, don't be angry, I didn't mean to bother you. Dad's birthday is in a couple of days, and I was worried you'd forget, so I came to remind you."

"Olivia, will you come home?" she asked carefully.

Olivia hated her habit of putting on an act. She rolled her eyes, impatiently saying. "It's just the two of us here, what are you pretending for?"

"If I don't go back, wouldn't you be the happiest?"

"How could that be!" Sensing Olivia angry, Isabella couldn't help but smile, her mood visibly improving. She pinched her voice, deliberately saying the opposite to disgust her. "We're family after all, and families don't hold grudges overnight. I still hope you'll come back."

Olivia's mouth twitched uncontrollably. She wiped her face and started cursing.

After finishing her harsh words, she deliberately imitated Isabella's affected tone. "Isabella, let me tell you something - have you not been putting any effort into winning over men lately?"

"I see you going on about James this and James that all day, thinking you two were so close, but it turns out he still likes me more." She laughed twice, with the attitude of a victor. "You know what? He said if I need it, he'll help me bribe the judges."

"Looks like your scheme won't work out."

"Impossible!" Isabella wanted to argue back, but the call had already been hung up.

Olivia's last sentence ignited Isabella's fury. She frantically called back, her face twisted as she denied. "Impossible! Impossible! How could he help you!"

James was clearly her dog! Olivia must be lying to her!
