Chapter 147 147

Chapter 147 147
Lysandra~~

The chief council minister drove me to the hospital himself, and I met Ramsey there before I was taken to the laboratory. Being here for some test when I should be birthing my pup was something I didn't plan, but who even cares that much, provided I was returning home with my pregnancy and mate beside me?

When the scientists were done with me and demanded that we wait back as it would take days for the test to be out, I decided to meet Ramsey so we could go take a walk around and strengthen my legs.

But I was too lazy to even stand from the chair I was sitting on. I glanced around to see if I could see anyone who would help me up since the health practitioners were all busy, and in the end, I fell asleep there while waiting for someone.

I slept for almost an hour, only to wake up with none of the people I came with still in the room. That was when one of the workers approached me, shocked that I was still with them when I should have left. I explained to him, and he finally helped me up and out of the office.

‘Why am I sweating this much?’ I thought, taking a look at my damp skin.

The room I just came out of had an air conditioner, so I wasn't supposed to be sweating this much. I walked until I got tired, but I still managed to reach the place where I had stayed before getting into the laboratory, and not a single soul from anyone I came with was there.

I glanced around until I found the doctor's office, so I reached closer and rang the doorbell.

“Yeah, come in!” he said from there, and I walked in tiredly. Upon seeing me, he rose to his feet, but looked a bit worried. “Luna? You hadn't left?”

I shook my head, "A lot is going on with me right now. I can't just explain, but I feel so hot and breathless.”

He walked out of his desk and helped me sit back on the cushion beside the wall. “Your baby needs to be checked. Is that okay with you right now?”

What kind of question was that when I didn't have a choice? I felt like I was beginning to have cramps, my waist aching slowly…until something burst to the ground and water covered everywhere.

I bit my lower lip and said to the doctor, “Am I okay? Is this…

“You’re in labor. Stand with me.”

I couldn't believe this was happening now, when the date I was given during the scan hadn't reached yet.

He had the patient waiting for him go over to the next doctor, and then he led me out of the office.

“Can you climb the stairs? It also helps to fasten delivery,” he said, and I nodded. “Then you're going to take it easy. Don't feel scared, for I'm with you, okay?”

I nodded, for someone who had no strength to even speak any longer.

With his help, I was able to climb up to the delivery room, and just at the doorpost, the pain became so unbearable.

“Where's Ramsey?” I screamed with tears in my eyes. But the doctor whispered to me, "I'm here for you until he shows up.”

The cramps was one I wasn't told about. I just wanted the whole ground to eat me up with all the pain I felt.

Couldn't I just push out the pup already? The pain was so excruciating that I hoped to still live after the delivery.

When the doctor checked me, he shook his head, “You aren't dilated much for delivery. We have to wait for some time,” he whispered, and the nurses were all running around, while I just wanted to pull down the building.

I thought I was in a flame, and the only one I needed at that moment was my mate. But until I pushed out my pup amid gritted teeth, he didn't show up, and I wondered if everything was okay.

The doctor assigned a nurse whose work was just to focus on me. I wanted him to reach out to Clement, but he assured to take me back to the palace if none of them showed up after the end of the next day.

Staring at my pups lying beside me, I told myself they were okay, and I wasn't going to pass through this hell again. They looked so lovely, and I couldn't wait to have Ramsey smile, looking at our pups.

Hours passed, and the next day came, yet no one had shown up for me. At this point, I knew something was wrong. I called Ramsey several times, and he wasn't picking up. I noticed my lycan was fully active yesterday, so we tried mindlinking him, because no matter where he was, it would go through…yet I didn't reach him.

I called Clement, and he ended the call and promised to come take me soon, so I called Miriam and told her to come with Clement anytime.

The moon goddess knew how worried I was, but I still didn't think that anything had happened to my mate, until Jonathan showed up from nowhere. He looked stressed and wasn't even bright.

He walked to the bed and had a good look at my pups, then said to me, “They would make good children for us.”

My eyebrow snapped up, and I scowled at him. I pretended not to hear what he said, yet he added, "There's no need for the DNA result as it stands, because you need a man at this moment, and I'm the only option you have.”

“What does that mean? I have my mate, so you fucking…

“Your mate?” he scoffed and grabbed a seat, his legs crossed. “Shouldn't you have asked why he wasn't here since yesterday?”

I swallowed my saliva, opened my lips, and shut them back again.

“They must have hidden it from you, but Ramsey went feral and is caged so he doesn't attack people.”

The statement sank with force. “Stop joking around. He can't go feral when he has his mate beside him.”

“Wow! I now wonder why he went feral yesterday,” he said and shook his head. “He's so animalistic right now, giant-like and covered in fur with his tail wagging around. He looks like a beast and not even a lycan.”

My lips hung open. All those couldn't be true.

I waited patiently and didn't even let him get near my pups until Clement showed up with Miriam. The moment Clement saw Jonathan, he handed what he was holding to Miriam and rushed to him.

Everything happened so fast with how he punched Jonathan, who was an alpha, and he was a gamma, until blood spilled from his broken lips.

“I promise you that I'm going to come to the end of this. I'm going to do everything in my power to make you regret this.” Clement yelled and dragged him out of the room where I was.

I wiped my cheek when I felt something liquid drop there, and it was my tear. My gaze shifted to Clement, and I asked him, "It's not true, right? Where's Ramsey? He's supposed to watch me deliver our pups.”

He said nothing to me, and the silence stretched for so long.

I climbed down from the bed and reached out to the door, but Miriam held me back.

“Take me to my mate. I want to stay with him.” I yelled, sobbing heavily at that time. “It can't be true. Ramsey was very well when I saw him yesterday.”

How could it be possible? After every one of our efforts, Jonathan succeeded?

If I didn't see my mate, I wouldn't believe it. Ramsey wouldn't leave me and our pups in this wicked world.
