Chapter 143 143
Chapter 143 143
Lysandra~~
After Ramsey left and I was ready to freshen up, I entered the bathroom and was about to brush, so I stood for some time, looking back at my nipples that he had suckled before leaving, through the mirror. I rubbed my index finger on them and bit my lower lip.
This early morning, we had gone intimate, and I had the strength to go cowgirl, while he thrust slowly from under. It was such a passionate moment for us as we both climaxed at the same time, although after I did twice.
I brushed my teeth, smiling all alone…and in the next few minutes, I walked out of the bathroom and began dressing up.
A week ago, I had taken the semester exam online, and it was supposed to be out last night, so I had to check this morning. I read very well at night despite how much I was disturbed by my hormones, and Ramsey was always up, calming me down, massaging my waist, and even reading with me so I could concentrate.
I knew my hard work would pay off, and soon I would graduate.
When I got down to the dining, Miriam served my breakfast and sat opposite me, watching and telling me stories she saw in the media this morning. She went over to my luna office with me when I was done, and at that time, Clement arrived too.
“I need to check my results first before anything,” I said, referring to Clement, who had dropped some files on my table that he had come with from the company.
Several times, I tried logging into the website, and it wasn't working properly, so I thought to give it some time since a lot of students would be using it, thereby causing the glitch.
I went through the files and stamped on the ones necessary, then I said to him, “Take them back to the secretary before they close for today.”
As he took them away, he asked me, “Luna, could you check on the company's stocks? They say it's plummeting, and the employees are in a riot right now.”
Huh?
I dropped the pen I was holding, “The stocks did what? Did you hear from Ramsey?”
He shook his head, so I fastened my fingers on the keyboard and mouse until I realised that he wasn't telling lies.
The company's stock was really plummeting. So what could be the cause?
I logged into the company's official website, and there were many queries. People were complaining about our products, and the shareholders were all demanding their shares since we weren't doing a good job.
“Clement,” I looked at him, "You're going to help me find out what product is causing this havoc. Get it?”
He nodded and took a seat opposite me, then turned on his laptop, which had always been there.
Miriam, who watched us, got up and left, but returned with cups of coffee and water, which she kept before us and then sat again.
After a thorough search on my end, I was unable to find the product that was bringing such a review. The only idea I got was printing out all the shareholder names, and then the queries from some of them, shifted it to Miriam.
She looked confused for someone whose job was in the kitchen, but I had to explain to her, “Take a look at all these names and tick the names of the shareholders that dropped a query.”
She nodded and took the pen from me, then I looked up to Clement, who was waiting for my attention. “Did you find anything?”
He shook his head, “And these user accounts look like bots. They don't seem real, and I couldn't reach out to them at least.”
I breathed out, “Is that possible? All those reviews from bots?”
He shrugged his shoulders, “Since I couldn't find the product causing this, I decided to check if those accounts are real. And you know that customers tend to read reviews of people who have already purchased before purchasing. Now, a lot that was added to their cart has been removed from them, while some whose payment was made want it canceled and they be refunded, causing our stock to go down to the first twenty instead of the first three it's been competing on.”
I bit the side of my lower lip and breathed out.
“What if it's just a website glitch that the technicians can take care of?” I asked Clement, my hands on my head.
He hissed and shook his head again, “I can't believe a glitch will go this far.”
“Luna, the shareholders who sent a query aren't on the list you gave,” Miriam said to me and handed the papers. I stared at it for some time and shifted it to Clement, yet he gave the same feedback. “Don't you think they are bots too?” Miriam asked, and I released a heavy breath. “Someone must have hired a hacker or technician who had all that done, and it looked real. If Clement didn't mention it, I wouldn't have known…”
“Clement?” he asked with a frown, and I wondered what was going on.
Miriam glanced at me and then lowered his face.
I wasn't in the mood to know their problem, so I just picked up my cell phone and called Ramsey. But he didn't pick up after several rings.
“As it is now, things aren't going well in the company, so I don't need to be there. I'm scared the board of directors and board of advisors will come after us, even the shareholders.” I stated and breathed out, just trying not to think too much about it and not get affected.
When I had nothing else to do anymore, I decided to try checking my results again, and the site happened to work perfectly again. I logged into the portal and searched for my name, hoping to download my results…
“Canceled?” I mentioned and zoomed the screen. “What's this about? How are all my results canceled when I sat for them all?”
Clement and Miriam sat up at once to see what I was talking about.
“Someone tell me that I'm seeing things. I stayed up at night, reading for this exam, so this should be a joke.” I muttered, my fingers trembling on the keyboard as I left the site and started afresh again, just to be sure of what I saw.
Again, it all appeared before me. All the subjects I sat for were canceled, and I couldn't even tell if it meant that I didn't sit for them at all or that they were all rejected.
No matter how I tried to console myself until Ramsey came back, I couldn't and had to try mindlinking him. Luckily, he was in the clan and responded to me.
‘I'm with the Business board of Directors and the company's board of advisors. They are insisting that they would shut down the company.’
I sat up and moved out of my office. ‘What for? Can't they see that all those are fakes?’
‘They did, and are saying we don't seem to be the right successors of the company. I'm going to present the legal letter to them soon, and if they demand you show up, Hunter will have to come pick you up.’
I snorted because I didn't understand what use I would be if I showed up.
‘You will have to present proof that you are studying to be qualified for the Director position. Are your last semester results out?’
I shut my eyes, ‘Yeah, but they were canceled…’
‘What do you mean? You sat for the exam…’
I almost broke down into tears. This was something I didn't ever expect to happen to me after all my hard work.
‘I knew every review and query on that site was fake, and my hacker is already taking them all down. But what about the result? Are they insane?’
