Chapter Thirteen
Alpha Draven POV
I walked out of the dressing room feeling a sudden numbness in my heart, I couldn't place what was wrong with me.
Theo remained silent behind me, not saying anything despite the scene he saw earlier, he must have caught on, he knew I wouldn't act this way towards ordinary pets.
"What do you think?" I asked with the last bit of patience in me, we had been friends since childhood and even now as my Beta, he is the one who understands me the most, seeing him pretending like this makes me want to punch his face so bad.
"The Huswolf clan wouldn't have the courage to come at us like this, they must have been an..."
"You know what am asking about Theo." I interrupted him with a grunt as we entered the elevator.
"Am in no place to talk about that Alpha." Hearing his resistance, a growl escaped my lips but I remained quiet.
"You can't mark him just yet Alpha, he would die." He only reminded and I snarled.
"He is a pet, who cares if he dies."
Entering the huge hall, the people from the Huswolf clan sat across the huge dining table feasting and talking loudly, they ordered my servants around and feasted like this was their palace.
I looked across the table with a dark expression, even after announcing my presence, the leader remained silent, even drank from a large glass of wine and let out buldge, the ultimate sign of disrespect, I growled silently and without thinking I louged at him.
A growl escaped my lips as I lifted him off his feet holding his neck, his fat hands struggled for his life as he tried to set himself free, the hall became quite instantly.
"My Lord you can't kill him, please don't kill him." His assistant quickly ran in front of me to kowtow and beg, his arrogance from earlier completely wiped out.
I didn't even spare him a glance, my entire focus was on the man in front of me, the leader of the entourage sent by the Alpha of Huswolf pack, even their Alpha would bow and cower in front of me, am I too lenient lately that these idiot's have the guts to defy me.
"My Lord, let him off and let's discuss, you can't kill him if you don't want a war between the two pack." His assistant begged frantically, more scared for him death than the leader himself.
"Am I someone that cares for rules?" A little growl escaped my lips as I said, my strong hold on the leader tightened around his neck, I could feel life slowly drift out of him, before he could breath his last, I released my hold and he fell to the ground with a thud, his fat stomach shielded hum from the fall and his assistant rushed towards him.
He coughed and coughed before finally regaining his composure, all the people from Huswolf clan all remained silent like the night, they must have realized too late what a beast I truly am.
I took a step back and went back to the top chair reserved for me and sat down facing the terrified faces of the people before me.
An Elder stood up slowly and cleared his throat which earn a snarl from me .
"It seems this meeting started off as a huge misunderstanding my Lord."
"Forget the unmannered young Man who is the leader, our Alpha had entrusted this task ..."
I raised my hand up for him to pause, my eyes scanned the room of people, most of them were young, clearly energetic but mostly useless, it's clear the Alpha of the Ruswolf Clan didn't take this seriously, have I been too lenient lately that he dares slack off in sending the usual food quarters per year.
"The Omega suddenly tried jumping off the little window in your dressing room."
Theo suddenly whispered to me and I felt my blood boil, he sure own some guts, don't he, trying more than twice to escape from me.
"Bring him in here." I ordered and mentioned for the Elder to go ahead.
"Our Alpha pays his respect and handed over the report, we gave one tenth of our produce plus diamonds for this summer and he asks to inform that the rogue at his border is giving problems..."
"He can't handle some rogues himself?" I questioned with as I narrowed my eyes slightly at him. Ruswolf Clan was a pack that supplies my pack some materials to make weapons for war, the only reason keeping me from destroying them entirely.
"My Lord you largely misunderstood, the rogues are getting restless and keep attacking our borders, we fear there is an instigator."
"The Blood haul Pack had keep eyeing us for a while, we fear they are the instigators, they would threaten war anytime...."
As I tapped my fingers rhythmically on the table, the assistant kept shut, shorty after, the usual scent hit me and my nose flared, my wolf became restless again, I knew he is in here now.
The Elder face showed some curiosity as he watched me closely, my eyes darkened, I know for a fact that the Huswolf clan is not loyal to me, their Alpha sticks with just any pack powerful enough.
Given any chance, he would overthrow me and take over this pack, he is consistently looking for something, a weakness in me.
"Get them out of here." I ordered coldly, my guards immediately led them all out, I stood up graciously with the aura of a king.
"Begin the ceremony."
The gathering of the elites in my pack, I reserve the two days before every fortnight to organize this ball.
That moment, Ryker was led into the grand hall by Amelia, my eyes scanned his body as a low snarl escaped my lips, he is wounded, a slash of red blood was visible on his right hand yet he was oldly covered as i instructed.
Seeing his shivering frame, my eyes burned, I hated weakness, any signs of fear meant death, but facing his shivering body, a certain urge awoke, he is messing with my brain.
"We caught him before he could fully jump off the window, my Lord he didn't care that it was the fourth floor."
Hearing her say this, something snapped in me and I growled, i walked towards him slowly.
I yanked his hand forcefully and led him to the elevator, his hand was smooth yet oddly calloused at the same time.
"You badly want to get punished huh?" My eyes stared coldly at his figure as i lifted him off his feet with my hands on his neck.
