Chapter 72 72

Chapter 72 72
Third Person POV
"Who is this?" Draven screamed into his phone. "What have you done with Hazel ? Tell me now!" He demanded, but all he could hear were laughs over the phone.
"You really don't know my voice, Draven; that's such a shame; after all, we've been together," the woman said as her voice turned icy cold.
"Fuck it all and just tell me who you are and what you've done with my woman." Draven tried calming himself down; he could see the panic on Adrian s face; he could feel his own agitation rising and forced himself to calm down; he had to control himself.
“It's Bianca," her voice said calmly. Draven's grip on his tightened, almost breaking the screen, but he controlled himself.
"Shit," he whispered under his breath. Of all the people that he had to deal with, it just had to be Bianca if all people—a ruthless Mafia queen hellbent on using, extorting, and manipulating people.
"Yeah, no shit, Draven," Bianca whispered back as she giggled under her breath. "I've finally driven you into a corner, Draven; do you know how long I've waited for a moment like this?" She asked with whisps of laughter escaping her lips.
"What do you want, Bianca?" Draven replied tiredly, If it was Bianca, then she wanted something huge in return.
He tried not to think about how it had happened—how Hazel  had left the ball and ended up in Bianca's of all the people she could possibly think of.
It was so infuriating to him, yet he calmed himself down. "I haven't really thought about that, you know," she started.
"What could possibly give me for the life of these two women?" She said to herself as she thought deeply, She wanted something heavy from Draven, something that would leave him shattered and broken, something that would really, really hamper his life.
"Wait, two women?" Draven asked; he looked a bit confused; he just needed Hazel , and that was it; he wasn't about to carry the baggage of another woman on top of his own troubles.
"Oohh, you weren't told?" Bianca said with amusement; she could feel the tension build up in Draven voice, making her smile.
"Now, and I'm not about to pay for someone I don't know or care about," Draven said, feeling irritable.
"But your dear lady cares deeply about the woman with her; as a matter of fact, she hasn't let her go since she came here." Bianca seems to be enjoying herself or this altercation.
"Who is it this time?" Draven asked tiredly; sometimes he couldn't know what Hazel  thought; it had to be one of the prisoners she had met with her under the stone estate, someone very close to her a long time ago.
"It's simply just a mother-daughter reunion. What a special occasion," she said, but Draven's mouth hung open in surprise. It just didn't make sense to him, absolutely.
If he knew one thing, it was that Hazel  hated both her parents equally. "Elara, what does she have to do with any of..." Before he could complete his statement, Bianca cut him off.
"Not that leech, her real mother, Adylne," she said calmly; it seemed she had only just found out about this and was quite shocked herself, which is what Draven was thinking.
"Her real mother? What are you even saying?" Draven said once more, trying to make sense of the entire situation.
"Look, I don't have the time nor the patience to explain things, nor do I care about how your family problems are so mixed and estranged; I just want payment for you taking these women from here or else." She stopped there.
"Or else what?" Draven could take most insults from people and still not bat an eye, but to be threatened was something that he couldn't take with ease.
Still, he heard nothing but laughter over the phone; he was already getting more irritated the longer the conversation drew out.
"What do you want, Bianca?" Draven said with all seriousness; he was done asking and playing games with them; now he just meant business.
"Your pack," she replied with a cold voice. "Half of it at least; that should be enough for the price of both of them," she said with confidence.
She felt that this was a desk no alpha would ever consider doing, not at the same of their pack; they could always get another mate to stay by their side after all; it was difficult chances like this that gave her the thrills.
"Done," Draven said without so much as a hint of hesitation; he wasn't even fazed by her request, much less bothered by it, and for a couple of reasons.
All he wanted was Hazel , and she didn't care if he was the Alpha or not; she just wanted him, and secondly, Bianca could never control his pack; he didn't know about others, but his was quite different, and he was confident in that.
"What?" She says a bit shocked, but Draven smiled to himself; it wasn't a bad deal but a very risky one. Indeed, he could always fight back for his land when the time came, but now Hazel  was a priority.
"No, no, no, I want something else. I can't take your pack, but I didn't think you would give it to me so willingly, so I'll take something else in return," she said, trying to sound indignant.
Draven sighed deeply. This was why he never engaged in negotiations with women; they were too uncertain, indecisive, and sporadic.
Right now he couldn't figure out what she would want next, but the only thing that he had that may be of good use to her would be his company; it was either that or his money.
At this point he didn't see a problem giving those out to save Hazel  from whatever she was going through; he remembered when he promised to protect her from harm's way, and now, looking at all this mess, he couldn't just come to accept that this was all due to his incompetence.
He was too lax, thinking everything was under control. "Ten million dollars," she said. "That's what I want from you, and I want it as soon as possible; don't try any cheap tricks on me.”
“Once I find out that you have any interior motives, your woman gets it—I mean, call me when you have it, darling," she said in a rush as she cut the call.
Draven turned around looking for Adrian ; he stood by the side looking lost or confused, or maybe both of them. Draven took long strides and met up with him.
"Adrian ," he called out sharply. "Yes, uncle," he said a bit startled; he hadn't expected his uncle to come meet him after the call.
"Are you okay? You seen off," Draven said, placing a hand on his son’s shoulder. He didn't exactly know what his son was going through, but it had to be difficult.
Having your own woman kidnap the woman you're in love with, who also happens to be your uncle’s mate, was not something that happened often.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm okay," Adrian  lied. "Do you know anything about where she is and how we can get her back?" He asked, looking a bit panicked, like he was scared of hearing anything dangerous might have happened to her in the first place.
"She's fine, just locked up somewhere else with Bianca," Draven said calmly, hoping Adrian  would understand the severity of the situation.
"Bianca? Mafia queen Bianca?" Adrian  asked in a rush. "Yeah, that Bianca," Draven replied with a sigh.
"Fuck" Adrian  curses under his breath; he knew it was going to be difficult considering that madwoman has been after them more than once, but what really bothered him was why Thalia sold them to Bianca of all people.
"She asked for a ransom, much more the amount than she bought the both of them," Draven said. "Both of them?" Adrian  asked, thinking his uncle had just made a mistake.
"Aahh, yes, she's with her mother there, not Elara but her real mother." He tried remembering the name, but it slipped his mind. He gave up after a few moments and looked at Adrian .
"How much was the ransom?" Adrian  asked hesitantly. "Ten million dollars," Draven responded. The amount was outrageous—an entire network that could hamper the progress of our company and set them behind.
But it's not that it wasn't an amount they couldn't afford. Adrian  nodded calmly and brought out his phone. Adrian  was in charge of the finances.
Draven would just take the money and get Hazel  by himself, and after that, he would wreak as much havoc as he pleased. Adrian  walked to the front while he made the phone calls; he began growing more and more frantic, which bothered Draven.
"What's the matter?" He asked while he walked up to his son. "Our assets and money have been gradually drained overtime without either of us knowing," Adrian  whispered under his breath. He looks shaken beyond belief.
"By who?" Draven asked; things grew more and more difficult for him, and as such, he was getting very irritable.
"By Thalia"
