Chapter 115 115

Chapter 115 115
Maddy's POV
"Why are you being so stubborn, Maddy? What about Jason's feelings? If you denounce him, he'll turn rogue because he's in love with you. Either way, one of you will turn rogue. That's not fair." She argued.
I turned away from her, pulling the covers over my head. "Jason isn't in love with me, Hazel," I muttered, my voice muffled by the blanket. "And you keep thinking about whether it's fair to Jason.”
“What about Zac? Is it fair to him? I don't want to discuss this anymore."
"Fine," she said, her voice louder now. "But remember, Maddy, your stubbornness has led you to make a lot of mistakes in the past.
And it always has to do with Zac! I've always forgiven you, but would you be able to forgive yourself this time? Make sure you're not making mistakes again, because this time it's not me. It involves someone you were destined to love."
I didn't answer; I just buried deeper into the covers. I didn't want to hear Hazel's words; I didn't want to face the truth. Jason is not my mate. It's a mistake.
But her words echoed in my mind, a haunting reminder of the decision I had to make. Hazel sighed, standing up from the bed. "Tomorrow is a full moon night," she said, her voice full of worry.
"You can make your decision by then. I just hope you make the right call, Maddy."
"Yeah," I whispered, not sure if she could hear me.
"Me too."
With that, Hazelleft the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I stared at the black veins on my wrist, and a tear managed to escape my eyelids. I had to make my decision soon.
But at the end of the day, it seems that no matter what I chose, it felt like I was destined to lose.
Jason's POV
Pacing back and forth in my room, worry gnawed at my insides like a hungry beast. Draven sat calmly on the chair, watching me with a steady gaze. I couldn't stand still. Maddy was in danger, and it was all because I had come out when she wasn't ready.
I thrashed at a nearby table, sending objects flying. I felt so frightened, and I couldn't contain it any longer. Draven stood up and put a hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me down.
"You shouldn't worry too much, Jason," he said, his voice calm. "Shouldn't you worry too much?" I snapped, interrupting him.
"Maddy is going to turn rogue, Draven, and it's all my fault! If only I had waited. If only I had given her more time." Draven sighed, his eyes filled with understanding.
"Tomorrow is a full moon night, Jason. Maybe she'll accept you as her mate. Maybe she'll be okay." I cut him off, my voice laced with anguish.
"She doesn't love me, Draven. She won't accept me. I've seen it in her eyes and heard it in her voice. She's made her choice, and it's not me."
Draven's voice softened, filled with concern. "Jason, I hope you're not thinking of letting her denounce you. That won't solve anything."
I didn't say anything. I moved towards the door, ready to face whatever was coming. If Maddy accepts me as her mate without really loving me, I'll feel pitiful for the rest of my life.
At the same time, I couldn't let her turn rogue. I couldn't let her suffer because of my mistakes. As I reached the door, I turned back to face Draven. "I would do anything for Maddy," I said, my voice determined. "I hope you won't get in my way."
Draven looked at me, his expression a mix of worry and understanding. I hurried back to Maddy's room, determined to speak to her. I knocked on the door, but there was no response.
"Maddy, please open up. We need to talk," I pleaded, my voice filled with urgency. But all I got was a deafening silence from the other side, but then I heard something strange.
Maddy's breathing was ragged, like she was struggling to catch her breath. I suddenly panicked. It was late at night, so she couldn't have just returned from a run. Something wasn't right.
Without hesitation, I broke open the door. Inside, Maddy was at the edge of her bed, her chest heaving as she struggled for air. She looked like a person suffering from an asthmatic attack. I noticed her eyes glowed with a bright golden hue.
"Maddy! What's happening?" I asked, rushing to her side.
As soon as she saw me, she pounced on me, her lips crashing into mine. Her hands wrapped around my neck as she kissed me fiercely. The kiss was hot and hard, with an intensity I had never felt before.
I was taken aback, but I couldn't deny the surge of desire that coursed through me. I knew this was the effect of her slowly turning rogue; the wild instincts of her wolf had taken over.
I kissed her back, my heart pounding in my chest. I hoped that our closeness would reduce the effects and calm her down. I held her tightly, trying to bring her back from the edge.
"Maddy, please," I murmured between kisses, my voice filled with desperation. "I'm here. I won't let you go, but it's enough now."
She clung to me, her grip tight and possessive. Her kisses were filled with a mix of longing and turmoil. I could sense the battle raging within her—her human self fighting against the wild desires of her wolf.
I continued to kiss her, pouring all my love and hope into each touch.
Maddy's POV
The sun had barely risen over the horizon when I blinked my eyes open. I felt disoriented, and for a heartbeat, I couldn't remember how I had ended up in my bed. My mind was a foggy mess as I struggled to recall all that happened last night.
I remembered the wolf, my wolf, tearing at my insides, demanding control of me. I remembered finding it hard to breathe as I stood at the edge of the bed, hyperventilating.
Suddenly, Jason was right there at the door, and his body moved without permission, driven by a force I couldn't resist. My heart pounded as I recalled the kiss.
It was my wolf who had initiated it, but Jason had kissed back. My kiss was fierce and demanding, but he was calm and collective, as though trying to heal me and tame me all at once.
I remembered his words. "Maddy, please," he murmured between kisses, his cold breath fanning my wet lips. "I'm here. I won't let you go, but it's enough now."
I remembered feeling really dizzy, and I remembered falling. The world was spinning around me, and then... nothing. Just a blank void where the rest of my memories should have been.
Was it all a dream? Why would Jason have come into my room that late in the night? But then... the throbbing in my head was too real, and the taste of Jason's lips was still fresh.
As I turned to the other side of the bed, wishing to get rid of all the thoughts, the door creaked open. My maid, Trisha, came in carrying a tray. "Miss Maddy, are you ready for your bath?" she asked in her soft tone.
"You're excused for today, Trisha." I managed to mumble, pulling the covers tighter around me. She gave me a nod, furrowed her brow in worry, and left the room.
I sighed and turned my gaze to my wrist. And to my shock, I found the black veins were bigger now, creeping up my arm, reminding me of the fact that I'm going to turn rogue soon.
They were spreading at an alarming pace, like cracks in a broken mirror. And with the pace it's going at, it would reach my heart soon; I'd be a full rogue by tomorrow morning. I shivered at the thought.
My wolf stirred, as if sensing my fear. I could almost hear her snarling, eager to take control again. "But how?" I murmured to myself, my voice barely a whisper. The process takes about three days, so why was mine spreading faster? It shouldn't be this fast. Why?
Tears streamed down my face as I buried further into the softness of my bed. The room felt so big, yet so lonely. And before I knew it, the day passed in a blur, my heart felt heavy, and I spent the whole day in bed.
By the time night had fallen, the black veins had gone all the way up to my shoulders. The complexion on both my arms cannot be seen anymore.
I found myself standing by the window, the cool beams of moonlight washing over me. The world outside was peaceful. The night was quiet, just how I liked it. If only I could take a stroll about now.
I sobbed quietly, the tears streaking down my cheeks. There was a possibility that this would be my last night under the full moon.
