Chapter 113 113

Chapter 113 113
Jason's POV
He shrugged. "You don't know that for sure, Jason. Have you ever asked her? he questioned. I shook my head. "No. But I don't need to. She's in love with Zac, not me."
Draven leaned forward, his gaze intense. "Jason, listen to me. You can't just give up. You need to fight for her."
I looked at him, my heart pounding in my chest. The thought of actually fighting for Maddy was somewhat terrifying. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.
Maybe I had been too quick to accept defeat. Maybe I needed to step up to show Maddy that I cared for her and that I was willing to fight for her.
Finally, I nodded slowly. "You're right, Draven. I need to fight for her."
Draven smiled, clapping me on the shoulder. "That's the spirit, Jason! Remember, she's "your" mate. You have a bond that can't be broken."
I nodded, feeling a newfound determination fill me. I would fight for Maddy. I would show her that I was the one who truly loved her, the one who would always be there for her.
"But what if she still chooses Zac?" I asked, the fear creeping back into my voice. Draven shrugged. "Then at least you'll know you did everything you could. And who knows? Maybe she'll surprise you."
I couldn't help but smile. Draven was right. I had to try. For Maddy. For us.
I rested back on my bed. My mind was filled with thoughts. I decided that I would show Maddy that I was the one for her and that we were meant to be together. I would fight for her, no matter what.
I closed my eyes, a sense of peace washing over me. Whatever happened next, I was ready. I would fight for Maddy's heart. And this time, I wouldn't give up until she was mine.
I sat back up in bed with a clear mind and a determined heart. I was ready to fight for my mate. For Maddy. "Draven," I said, meeting his gaze, "I'm ready. I'm going to fight for Maddy."
He nodded with a proud smile on his face. "That's what I like to hear, old friend. Go get her."
Maddy's POV
I woke up, stretching my arms above my head. I blinked groggily at the corner wall of my room before turning to the side, expecting to see Jason. But the bed beside me was empty.
I suddenly felt really worried and panicked. Where was Jason? Had he already left? I got up, looking around the room. But he was nowhere in sight.
I sighed, sitting back down on the bed. I thought back to what he had said last night. "I love you, my mate." The words echoed in my mind, causing my heart to flutter.
The butterflies in my stomach were going wild, just like they did last night. But he was drunk, wasn't he? He couldn't have meant it. Even if he did, I shouldn't care.
But then why did Jason's words affect me so much? Why did my heart race when he said he loved me? Why do I feel a pang of disappointment when I wake up to find him gone?
I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. This wasn't right. I was in love with Zac, not Jason. I had to focus on that.
Trying to get that out of my mind, I took a warm bath and headed out of my room. I ran into Hazel in the hallway. She gave me a knowing look. "So, how did it go with Jason last night?"
I blinked, surprised. "What do you mean?"
Hazelrolled her eyes. "Come on, Maddy. I saw him leave your room this morning. You guys were pretty cozy last night."
I felt my cheeks heat up. "It's not like that, Hazel. He was just drunk. I was helping him." She raised an eyebrow. "Really? Then why did he say he loved you?"
I gasped, my heart pounding in my chest. "You heard that?" Hazel nodded , her eyes wide. "Yeah, Maddy. I did. I actually couldn't sleep last night, so Draven and I took a stroll.”
“We saw both of you and got worried that Jason might be hurt, and that was why you had to carry him. And here the look on your face, I can tell it affected you that he confessed his feelings."
I shook my head, trying to deny it. "No, Hazel. I'm in love with Zac." She shrugged, giving me a knowing smile. "If you say so, Maddy, But remember, the heart wants what it wants."
She walked away, leaving me alone in the hallway. Her words echoed in my mind. "The heart wants what it wants." Did my heart want Jason? I pushed the thought away. No, I was in love with Zac. My heart belongs to Zac and only Zac. But then why couldn't I stop thinking about Jason?
I needed to clear my head. I needed to focus on Zac. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake off the memory of Jason's words. "I love you, my mate."
Even though I told myself it didn't matter, deep down, I knew it did. Because no matter how hard I tried to deny it, I couldn't ignore the fact that Jason's confession had stirred something within me. And that scared me more than anything else.
Hazel's POV
I sat on the edge of the bed, my fingertips gently brushing over my small baby bump. Lost in my thoughts, I couldn't help but feel a pang of worry. Draven entered the room and noticed the concern etched on my face.
"What's wrong, Hazel?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.
I sighed, looking up at him. "I'm really worried, Draven. We are worried that our baby will come into this world already burdened with anxiety and fear for its own safety. Not just my baby, but we will both be worried too."
Draven sat down beside me, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. "I understand your concern, Hazel. But everything will be okay. We'll do everything we can to protect our child and give it the love and support it needs to grow up strong."
I nodded, appreciating his reassuring words. "I know that, Draven. It's just that with the powers it has, even before entering the world, our child might not have a normal childhood. There are so many people out there who would want to harm my child's abilities."
Draven squeezed my hand gently. "We'll take things slow, Hazel. We'll have to hide the child's abilities from everyone else. I'll teach our child how to control and use his powers responsibly.
And we'll surround him with people who will protect and guide him. We'll do whatever it takes. But we won't react to fear of the unknown, okay?"
His words brought a sense of calmness to my racing thoughts, and I managed a small smile. "You're right, Draven. Maybe everything will be okay. I'm just worrying too much."
Draven leaned in and kissed my forehead. "That's the spirit, Hazel. Right now, our focus should be on something else. Remember how you've always wanted Jason and Maddy to confess their feelings for each other?"
I chuckled, the worry momentarily fading away. "Yes, I do. They're both so stubborn. It's about time they realise their true feelings."
Draven grinned mischievously. "Exactly. We'll help them by giving them just a little push, and soon they will definitely express their love for each other.
Once they're together, we'll find a way to get in touch with your parents. They can be our allies in the fight against Zac and his pack. Together, we'll protect our little family."
I nodded in agreement. "I promise Hazel, I'll make sure our child grows up in a safe and loving environment. We'll do whatever it takes to keep them out of harm's way."
Draven's eyes sparkled with determination. "Thank you, Draven."
“Have you heard from Adrian yet?” I asked him. After we defeated Alpha Dorian, Adrian decided to leave the pack for a while. “Yeah we talked yesterday, he’s doing fine”
Maddy's POV
I found myself alone in the garden, surrounded by a gentle breeze and the scent of blooming flowers. My mind was filled with thoughts of Zac, and I missed him so much. I longed for his touch and his presence, or at least I thought I did.
Closing my eyes, I tried to conjure up images of him, but all I could see was Jason. A shiver ran down my spine as I remembered Jason's kiss that day. The way his lips moved with mine, and suddenly, my whole body felt hot—too hot.
I couldn't help but let my mind wander, fantasising about Jason. In one of those fantasies, we were back in my room with his lips against mine as we kissed passionately while making sweet love.
Another fantasy was with us in the bathroom, all soapy and slick, with him thrusting in and out of me uncontrollably.
