Chapter 106 106

Chapter 106 106
Hazel's POV
So I'm going to end up being killed by the person I want to kill. The irony. At least I'll rest in death with a smile on my face, knowing Draven is safe.
Just as I was about to succumb to it all, Draven, ever vigilant, intercepted his attack. His claws slashed through Richard's arm, and they dislocated from his body.
He stumbled backward, crying and screaming out painfully. He was weakened by Draven's blow. His face contorted in anger and desperation as his powers rapidly drained from his body, flowing towards us.
He shrieked and turned while clawing at the air, trying to regain control, but it was too late. The last remnants of his magic slipped away from him, and with one final gasp, he completely dried up and turned to stone.
A gasp escaped my lips as I watched Richard's transformation in bewilderment and shock. His body turned to stone; he had now been reduced to a lifeless statue.
Jason's voice cut through the stillness, breaking the heavy silence that hung in the air. "It's... it's over? Richard is truly dead. "His eyes widened in disbelief as he gazed at his now-statued form in bewilderment.
Suddenly, his stone form cracked and began breaking apart. As the last remnants of him faded with the wind, Draven nodded solemnly, his gaze never leaving the spot in which Richard's statue once stood.
"Yes," he replied, his voice laced with both relief and exhaustion. "He's gone. He is finally gone." As the wind swept in, carrying away the very last remnants of Richard's disintegrated body, I felt a mix of emotions bubbling up within me.
I went to Draven and enveloped him in a tight hug. Tears streamed down my face as I held on to him even tighter. Rachel joined me in the hug, surprising me. Her arms enveloped us in a warm embrace. It was weirdly comforting.
After a while, I heard a few steps and pulled away. I turned to find Maddy. I suddenly remembered what had happened earlier.
While Draven was fighting with Richard, Maddy had been the one that pushed me, and once I fell into Draven's arms, I turned to find her being held back by Zac with a dagger to her neck.
She mumbled out the words, I'm sorry and stay safe. It seemed that Zac had been threatening her, and by the side of her face, I took notice of the red mark on her cheek and bruises on her arm. She must've fought with Zac and ended up with bruises.
She had her back facing us, and I could easily tell she was preparing to leave while we weren't looking. Draven's voice rang out, stopping her in her tracks. "Maddy, wait," he called, his tone firm.
"You're coming with us." Her eyes widened, a mix of surprise flickering across her face. "But, Draven, I can't." She argued, and her voice was filled with worry and embarrassment.
"I betrayed you."
"I know what I did was wrong. But you don't understand; you cannot. I did it for her sake." She tried to defend herself.
"What part of it? The lying part or the deceitful part." Jason argued.
"Enough!  Both of you!" I said I was unable to bear their arguments any longer. "I believe Maddy. As you rightly mentioned, she is my best friend, and so I feel that I should know her more than you can." I said to Jason.
"But she-" Draven tried to get in, but I stopped him.
"She did what she had to do." I said to him, standing my ground.
"I can't let her go back to Zac; he will kill her. And so she is going back with me, or I am going back with her. You choose." I gave Draven an ultimanium, and after what seemed like forever, he let out an annoyed groan and finally responded.
"She can come with us." Jason was clearly not in favour of this ecision. But still, Draven had no other choice.
Zac's POV
I stormed through the entrance of my grand mansion, my heart pounding with anger. "Alpha Zac, i-" One of the guards, oblivious to my fury, approached me to say something.
Without a second thought, I shoved him away with all my might, causing him to stumble backward. He looked at me with surprise and fear in his eyes. I didn't care.
I was consumed by rage. And what I needed right now was to destroy something or someone. Speaking of which, this man had a strange resemblance to the fool Draven.
I couldn't control myself any longer. I unleashed a flurry of punches on the guard, one after another, without a care in the world. He lay there crying his eyes out like a coward, his body absorbing the impact of my wrath.
Each blow was fueled by the anger and frustration that had been building up inside me for far too long. Finally, I released him when I had begun to feel a bit better, and he crumpled to the ground, gasping for breath.
Feeling a temporary release, I stormed into my room, the rage still burning inside me. I trashed everything in sight, knocking over furniture and shattering glass. The room became a chaotic mess, mirroring the turmoil in my mind.
"Maddy!" I screamed her name, unable to hold it in any longer. My voice was laced with anger and despair. She had dared to go against me. to play the hero card game.
But she would pay for her defiance. A cold and evil smirk spread across my lips as a sinister plan formed in my mind. "Okay, then," I muttered under my breath, my voice dripping with malevolence.
"Since you want to play hero and go against me, then you would just have to die alongside them." The words hung in the air, filled with malicious intent. My heart pounded with anticipation, relishing the thought of revenge.
"You are all traitors, traitors!" I shouted with a mix of anger and deranged amusement. The words echoed through the walls of my room, bouncing back at me like a wicked chorus.
The sound of my own voice amplified the twisted pleasure I derived from this moment. And then I began laughing out loud at the irony. And now Draven has both of my beauties.
What would he steal next? My pack? Laughter erupted from deep within me, an eerie symphony of madness. It filled the room, escaping through the cracks and crevices and seeping into every corner.
It was a haunting sound, a manifestation of my sinister delight. The laughter echoed, as if mocking the chaos I had created.
Draven, Hazel, and Maddy had all dared to challenge me, and now they would face the consequences. No one would escape my wrath. The thought brought a sick pleasure, one that twisted my face into a maniacal grin.
Maddy’s POV
I sat alone in my room, the darkness enveloping me like a heavy cloak. Silent tears streamed down my face as I replayed the events in my mind. I thought back to the way Jason had glared at me.
The thought of Jason's anger haunted me; his eyes were filled with nothing but pure hatred, a hatred I had never seen before reflecting in his own eyes. It was all directed at me, and it tore at my heart.
On our way back home, Jason didn't even spare me a single glance. He ignored me like a plague, his silence cutting through me like a knife.
I wanted a chance to speak to him, to explain everything to him, and to seek his forgiveness and for things to go back to the way they were. But it seemed like that was an impossible dream now.
A soft knock on the door interrupted my thoughts, and what followed was an all-too-familiar voice. "May I come in?" Jason asked.
Surprised, I called out, "Come on in." To my astonishment, it was really Jason standing right there at the entrance of my room. My heart leaped with hope as I invited him in.
I guess he finally calmed down and is now willing to hear me out. I felt overjoyed as I concluded that he really did know me so well.
As he entered the room, I rushed forward and threw my arms around him, seeking reassurance in his embrace. Tears continued to flow as I cried into his chest.
I had no idea why I was doing this, as I had never truly cried before. I never wanted him to see me as ugly, so I had to hide my ugly crying face before him.
But here now with Jason, I felt like I could be open about everything—anything at all—and he would always remain here to hear me out. I then noticed that he wasn't responding to my hug, as his body remained cold and stiff.
