Chapter 28 Sorrowful
I tried to push Lucian away but when that didn't work, I pulled the shirt slightly above my chin so the intruder wouldn't see my face.
I had no idea who the intruder was, but it was all a wasted effort because I'm sure everyone here knows me.
But then, I could hide my shame for that moment.
However, Lucian slowly came up as he wasn't even bothered by the intruder. When he came to my face level, I could see the change in his expression.
“Who the heck is that?” His voice sounded rough and angry.
“I'm sorry, Alpha. I didn't know you were busy.”
He looked at her, even though I felt the voice sounded familiar, but shame wouldn't let me look at the face of the speaker.
“Susan?”
Oh my days! At that point, I felt the ground should just open and swallow me whole.
“I'm sorry about interrupting. I will leave now and come back when you are done eating.”
I groaned all the more in embarrassment. Did she have to use that term? She definitely didn't mean that literally.
“No, it's ok,” Lucian finally pulled away from me, but I still couldn't bring myself to stand from where I was.
Somehow, my core was still throbbing hard and desperately needed his touch, but that was, in fact, so embarrassing. I can only thank Susan for this little favour of hers.
If she hadn't walked in, I wouldn't have been able to stop him.
“What's it all about?” His voice was back, and the expression was gone. I can't imagine it but it seemed like he placed Susan in high esteem.
“I heard about what happened last night and had to hurry here. Are you okay?”
“I still have some wolf bane in my body though,” Lucian laughed. “But let's talk in my office,” he muttered and gestured for Susan to step out first.
When she finally walked out, he looked at me with pleading eyes. “I didn't know she was coming.”
I didn't respond and instead watched him walk out.
At this moment, my face was all red from embarrassment. There's only one way to save me from it. I ran back to my room.
But the moment I entered, I started to pace. I can't believe Susan saw what just happened.
But in the midst of it, the scene that just happened between Lucian and me replayed itself.
I found myself flushing harder. His tongue on my core felt so good like it was created for it.
“Aria?” A voice jerked me out of my thoughts.
For the second time that day, I'm grateful for the intruder.
“Yes?” I looked up at Susan and instantly, I felt repulsed. “What are you doing here?”
Susan hesitated at the door. “Please, just hear me out.”
“Hear you out?” I felt enraged at her words. “What do you have to say? How did you deceive me?”
“Its not how you think.”
“Then, it's out?” I snapped. “I trusted you like a sister but what did you do? Shatter my heart! You sold me to the devil you call Alpha!”
She hesitated briefly. “Lucian isn't as you think he is.”
I couldn't believe it. But what was I expecting? That she would confirm Lucian was a monster?
“This is all for your safety, Aria. Everything I've done is for your own good.”
I scoffed. “Wait, are you also a wolf?”
She paused, then slightly nodded.
I turned away, feeling very emotional at the turn of things.
“Isn't this what you wanted, Aria? You said you would do anything you could to be reunited with your family, the wolves. You were sent out of your pack at a young age because you were humans. See, Lucian and his pack are ready to accept you even though you are human.”
Maybe Lucian accepted me but what about his pack members? Even his sister doesn't want me.
“So, that's why he would mark me against my wish?” I yelled, turning to her again and showing her the repulsive mark on my neck. “Now, my entire existence desires him! Why? Isn't this supposed to be with consent? Why am I supposed to be forced to stay here?”
Her eyes widened like she couldn't believe what she was looking at.
“Aria, I didn't know. I_”
“Spare me!” I interrupted her sharply. “I don't want your fake sympathy! You did this to me! You betrayed our three-year friendship! You sold me to him because he's your Alpha!”
“Aria, please_” she sobbed.
I felt the tears trim down my eyes too. “You are all evil! I don't even know the difference between you all! And I regret ever meeting you!”
