Chapter 40 Chapter 40
Isla
“Okay, let's see those messages. Also, I need a lawyer.”
“Okay,” Brax said, handing me the tablet, and I opened the messages.
“Oh Madam, Mr. Ferro has a lawyer," Wesley said.
“Okay, we’ll need him," I said, and Wesley nodded.
I checked the messages.
“Ms. Valerius, is this really you?”
“What proof do you have that you are Isla Valerius?”
"Who exactly are you? Did someone tell you to use that name?”
“Did you send people to my house?”
“What did you do to my daughter?”
“I need to speak to you; you don't want to cross me."
I dropped the tablet onto the table. Alistair had a lot of questions, but he won’t get any answers. I grabbed one of the boxes and placed it on the table. I nodded towards Brax; he opened the box and began reading. He looked up at me with a look of shock on his face.
“Umm, Madam?” he said quietly.
“What is it?” I asked, not looking up as I re-read one of the company deeds.
“You have more money than the boss. All these properties, these accounts. If you were to make this public, if you started putting pressure on the Rhodes, Alistair Rhodes wouldn't know where to turn," he said, and I looked at him and smiled.
"That's exactly what is going to happen. First, later today I'll make a visit to the RiverSide National Bank. And once the lawyer gets here, we’ll go after the waterfront first. I want that twelve-mile coastline at all costs."
“Madam, Mr. Damarcus, Mr. Ferro’s lawyer is here," Wesley said, leading a man in. I checked the time; it was almost nine in the evening. I guess Nikolai was going to be paying him overtime.
“Madam Ferro, I am Anton Damarcus, Mr. Ferro’s lawyer. "I was told you needed my services?” he said, looking at me. He seemed to be in his thirties; if he was good enough for Ferro, then he was good for me.
“Please have a seat, Mr. Damarcus.”
He sat on the chair Wesley had set up. I handed the waterfront deed to him.
“I want it back, by any means necessary," I said, and he nodded. He began reading the documents; he looked up at me, then back at the papers in his hand.
“This twelve-mile coastline is under Alistair Rhodes; he has documents stating it was passed down to him, but these here are the original. Ms. Valerius, this will be an interesting fight," he said with a smile.
“Of course it will be an interesting fight, and I want it as big and loud as possible. The only stipulation is that Isla Valerius will not be seen in public during the retrieval of the properties."
We sat and discussed the plan for a while more and coordinated it properly. Shortly before midnight they all left, and I headed back upstairs. When I walked past Nikolai’s office, the door was slightly open and the light was on.
I knocked on the door and walked in; he was sitting at his desk, staring at the laptop, his face a thundercloud. I leaned against the desk.
“Problem?” I asked.
“It was a trap," he said. I walked over to the couch and took a seat.
“Your father’s accident?” I asked.
“Yes, I was fifteen minutes away from the house when Esme called to ask what happened; she heard I had an accident. So I told her I was fine. I asked about my father, and she said he was at home," he said, and I cocked my head to my side.
“Someone cloned their phones?”
“Yes, I just called Brax so he can look into it. I already had the rest of the family informed not to take any calls; I'll see them personally," he said.
“Don’t you guys have a code word?” I asked, and he shook his head no.
“Then I suggest you set one up. I’ll be heading to Riverside National Bank tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
I stood up and looked at him. “Don’t stay up too late," I said, walking out the door. I headed to my room and grabbed a quick shower and got dressed and got into bed. I closed my eyes and let my thoughts take me to sleep. I was startled awake by hands on me; my eyes flew open, and I reacted. I kicked, and I heard him groan. When I looked at him, he was holding his mouth, and there was blood on his lips.
“Sorry, reflex," I said quietly. He didn’t reply; he picked me up and walked out of the room and waked straight into his room, dropping me onto his bed.
“What are you doing?” I asked. He walked around the bed and pulled the covers back and got in, then pulled me to him.
"Sleep," he said, holding me tighter around my waist.
“Why do I have to sleep here?” I asked.
“Because I want you here," he said, moving and pulling me under him. He was leaning over me, his face inches away from mine.
“What the hell are you doing?” I asked through gritted teeth.
“What? Uncomfortable?" he asked with a smirk. I moved my hand to push him away, and he grabbed both my hands, pinning them above my head with his right hand, cupped my waist, and started moving upwards.
“Nikolai”
“Don’t move," he said as his hands cupped my breast and a moan escaped my lips. His mouth closed over mine; he kissed me deeper. My body reacted to him. He let go of my hands and moved, pulling me on top of him. One hand on my waist and the other in my hair, keeping me close to him. He pulled away slightly; my breathing was erratic, and my body was hot.
“So fucking tempting," he said with a groan. He leaned forward and licked my neck, causing me to lean into him.
“Tell me to stop," he said, his voice hoarse. The words were stuck in my throat; his hands gripped the straps of my top, pulling it down, but I still didn't stop him. He fippled us over and was over me, his hand cupping my waist, and his lips moved from my neck down to my breast. I could feel the heat between my legs, and for a second I was hesitating.
When his mouth closed over nipples, a shiver ran through me. My fingers tightened in his hair, and I moaned; his other hand cupped my breast, and I moaned louder. When he bit down on my nipple, my body shook, and he groaned.
“Tell me to stop, Kitten, or I'll fuck you right now." His words came out with a groan, which made me moan louder.
His body moved down my body, pulling my pants off along with my panties, and I shivered as the cool air hit my body. My mind was a mess. Why wasn't I ashamed? Why wasn't I telling him to stop?
