“Good afternoon Madam, Martian?” he asked sitting beside Martian.
“Marcel this is her, we need to do the verification and help her, you remember what you promised Julian.” Martian said and he nodded. Nikolai walked back into the room and the two men Paused.
“Mr. Ferro, Hello.” they both said in unison, i guess they were afraid of him, they had every right to be because his face had a permanent scowl.
“Maria has prepared lunch, Gentlemen lets have lunch then you can continue your conversation.” He said.
“This way Gentlemen.”
We headed to the dining table and marie served us. “Thank you for having us Mr. Ferro” Martian said.
“You are Isla’s guest so that makes you a guest in my home” He said.
Halfway through Lunch Wesley walked in with a box and handed it to him. He took it from him and placed it in front of me. “This is?” i asked.
“You’ll see later.” he replied.
After lunch he left us and went to his office and we went back to the sitting area.
“So what do we need to do now?” i asked looking at them both.
“Zurich” Martian said and i looked at him.
“What?”
“Zurich has it all” Marcel said.
“Just a moment. I will say this to you both I trust Nikolai Ferro with my life. I am still alive because he kept me alive, unknowingly and i will need his help with this.”
“Very well Ms. Valerius.” they both said.
I texted him to come to the living room. He walked in a few minutes later and sat beside me.
“Something wrong?” he asked in that same cold tone.
“Not exactly but Ms. Valerius has to go to Zurich to reclaim her identity” Marcel said.
“Why Zurich?” Nikolai asked.
“Well since she was not registered here, the only place Isla Valerius exists is at Lombard & Steuben. It’s an old-money Swiss bank they don't care about passports or government IDs; they only care about their private contracts. Since Madam Elena was a Von Steuben, her family owns a massive stake and that is where all the proof lies”. Martian said.
“That is a genius move, if i must say” Nikolai said.
“Julian Valerius was a tech visionary. He designed a custom lock for the Valerius family vault. It is a Blood Sensor: It’s not just for fingerprints. It’s a Hematological Scanner. It will not just take a blood sample but it will run a rapid-sequence DNA match against the master samples Madam and Sir left” Marcel said.
“However there is a Fail-Safe, If the DNA doesn't match, the vault goes into permanent lockdown and alerts the authorities. Only a Valerius can open it.” martian said.
Nikolai looked at me. “Lets go to Zurich, Jet leaves in two hours. You gents should get your passports.” he said standing up ad walking out.
“Mr. Ferro, you’ll need security. Baron Von Weber is the guardian and the owner of the bank. Alistair knows Julian left something there and has someone watching.” Marcel said.
“Don’t worry, Von Weber will know we are on the way. No one would dare look at you.” he said walking towards his office.
“Ms. Valerius, we’ll take our leave and retrieve our documents.” Martian said standing up.
“Okay, Wesley will take you home and bring you back. I don't want anything to happen before we even leave riverside city.” i said and they both nodded.
After they left i headed to his office, I knocked and went in, When i walked in he was on the phone, he looked up at me but didn't say anything. I took a seat and waited until he was finished with his call. After he was finished he looked at me.
“Worried about what you’ll find in Zurich?” he asked.
“No. I came to ask you to have someone keep an eye on Jacob for me.”
“He’ll be fine. I already have a security detail watching him.” he said.
“Thank you also, The Rhodes, have someone keep an eye on them, The drug should start working on Blair soon.”
“Done. Anything else?” he asked.
“No. oh Stefan and Gia, have been secretly meeting Enzo Moretti. I haven't been able to find out what they’re discussing but i will soon.”
He stood up and took slow purposeful steps towards me, He leaned over me, making me lean back into the couch,his face was inches away from mine. His hands came up slowly and cupped my chin, his eyes staring into mine as his thumb caressed my cheek.
“Tell me something Kitten, are you pure?” he asked with a whisper and my breath caught in my throat. I thought of lying for two seconds but the look in his eyes scared me.
“Ye..” the words were cut off as his mouth covered mine cutting off my words. His grip on my chin tightened as he deepened the kiss. There was a knock at the door and he pulled away and looked at me for two seconds then stood up and opened the door. Jules was standing there.
“Lorenzo Moretti has just returned to Riverside.” Jules said and i saw his entire demeanor change in a split second.
Lorenzo Moretti was teh oldest son of the Moretti family and Nikolai’s rival. He always tried to outdo Nikolai, he was trying to take over many areas that was being dominated by the Ferro’s but he couldn't do it because Nikolai never gave him a chance. I read the file, there was a deep grudge between the two and i know for a fact that he would already know about me and would come after me.
I stood up and left him there. I headed to my room, i grabbed my handbag and made sure i had all my documents and headed back down. One hour later Martian and Marcel came back, a few seconds later Nikolai walked in.
“The Jet is ready” he said.
“Gentlemen lets go.”
Martian and Marcel were in the car behind, I was sitting beside Nikolai. He was staring at something on the tablet and he had that concentrated look on his face.
When we got to the airfield the Jet was already waiting. We headed onto the jet, Wesley and Jules were with us. Martian and Marcel took a seat next to each other. I took a seat at the front, the one i was comfortable with, He sat down beside me and put the Tablet on the small table.
Once we were in the air, he turned to look at me. “What do you intend to do?” he asked.
“It all depends on what i find there, Besides in a few days the medicine should start to take effect on Blair and i am waiting to see what she does.”
He didn't say anything else after that. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to relax for a while. I guess i fell asleep, i felt someone touch me. I opened my eyes and he was leaning over me.
