Black Sun
Black Sun
I looked over my shoulder at a sluggish pace, but I could hardly make him out. The distance and the dark worked together to hide him. But his eyes, those unusual and beautiful eyes cut through it easily, catching mine with that same intense stare I remembered too well. He had always stared at me like this when he touched those girls and fed on their blood. Right now, they gleamed with pure passion as they locked onto my body.
My heart beat faster when he began to approach me with calculated steps as he continued speaking. “I didn't make you a killer. You were born with the ability to kill vampires. It’s in your blood, I simply like how good calling you “little killer” feels in my mouth.”
“Don’t call me that again,” I yelled and my eyes closed to force back the memories that flooded my brain.
But instead, I remembered how his hands had stroked my ass, my hips, thighs, and his arousing words afterward.
“This is what you want, hm? You want my hands all over your body, touching you in an obscene way, is that right?”
When his thick, big cock flashed in my mind, I began to pant, unable to resist the hunger anymore.
“Are you alright?” Vale asked, but I didn't reply.
I was seething. Utterly disgusted with myself.
How could I still desire him after everything?
I hated the ravenous ache coiling in my blood and how powerless I felt against the unwanted arousal rising like a tide within me.
My eyes flew open, and I caught him observing me quietly. “Did the memories return?” he asked again, his deep voice firmer this time. Before I could decide whether to answer or not, he gave me no choice. “You must answer me.”
“Yes,” I snapped. “Fragments came back. Mostly the ones where you were acting like a depraved beast without a shred of shame.”
“I’m hardly the beast compared to your ever-loyal lover, Hawke.” He said and stepped closer until the space between us disappeared.
“He fucked you more than once… even in that sterile little hospital room.”
I blinked. What- he knew?
My heart raced at that, but I didn't back away, or feel ashamed to admit to my desires for Hawke unlike with him.
“At least he cared for me, and didn’t chain me like an animal or treat my body like a toy for display.”
“He took you to a fucking secret club and almost claimed you in public.” Vale countered, and I leaned my chin up.
“Yes, so what? Jealous?” I dared him to admit. But he didn't. His eyes just burned hotter the more I spoke. “How could you make me watch you use them? How could you shatter me and still want me to beg for your touch?”
His raw, intense hunger was etched into every line of his ethereal, cold face. It was so obvious that it made my blood boil. But truthfully, it exhilarated me.. The knowledge that he ached for me like that was pure enchantment.
“So Vale, if you ever think of fucking me, look in the mirror and fuck yourself.”
I felt my voice falter near the end, and I swallowed from the way he was looking at me.
“Are you still interested in seeing Armen?” He asked, reminding me of the reason we were here in the middle of the night.
What if Armen was sleeping?
“Armen?” I called out, my voice barely above a whisper. “Armen, are you there?”
“Of course, he's there.” Vale cackled darkly.
His hands rested on his hips, and his black shirt pulled up from the motion to reveal a black sun tattoo on his toned abdomen.
My eyes lingered on the ink, and before I could stop myself, they drifted lower along the V line.
That was when I saw the hard line straining against his pants. It was impossible to miss.
I cursed myself for looking, for noticing, but it was already too late.
Syndra stirred restlessly inside me, pushing a deep, aching urge through my veins to hump his erection and let his hands roam my body. And before I could resist, I was already leaning in, then a low groan, guttural and strained voice broke my needy actions.
I heard chains rattling and I rushed forward.
“Armen” I breathed, “You recognized my voice,”
But the cell was cloaked in darkness. I couldn’t see past the thick shadows pressing against the bars. My chest tightened with dread and desperate hope. Some part of me feared what he might look like now and yet, I needed to see him. I needed to know.
“There used to be a tiny solar bulb in here somewhere. Can you turn it on, please,” I asked, begging softly.
“I removed it,” Vale answered after watching me for a long, heavy moment.
He lifted his hand, and a blazing flame flared to life in his palm. My eyes widened in alarm as I instinctively stepped back.
This… this had to be magic. Of course it was.
“Look at your first lover,” he murmured, and I forced my trembling legs to carry me in the direction he indicated.
My heart sank into my stomach the moment I saw Armen’s figure slumped against the far wall. One of his eyes was swollen shut, and his nose looked shattered, twisted unnaturally to one side. He was shackled with thick, rusty chains and in the familiar cream colored prisoner's gown. It was torn from heavy lashes and I could see bruises, welts, and fresh wounds all over his body.
He had been mercilessly tortured for crimes that were not his.
I remembered that it was Hawke who had killed Vale’s men, breached the dungeon, and released every prisoner within except me.
He said he would come back for me the next morning when he had the Vespera dagger, but he didn't. I had waited days before Armen came to rescue me.
He had pulled me out of this hell, and now he was the one imprisoned in it.
I needed to get him out no matter what.
But I couldn't admit to Vale that Hawke was an accomplice. He had also done it to help me out.
“Please, release him,” I begged, desperation and the flooding of memory tightening my voice.
“I will release him if you let me mark you right now in front of him,” Vale said, a cruel smirk tugging his lips while the fire in his palm lit up the cell.
