I prefer to take my time when I’m inside you
I shook my head immediately. “I’ve thought it through. If you ever wanted to do something like that, I believe you’d tell me.”
“You saw a camera on it before you agreed to wear it.” He replied and I swallowed, a little smile tugging at my lips.
Damn, Nyx. You are no regular girl.
“I hope you're smiling at the thought of me,” Hawke said and I peeked at him through my long lashes.
“I hope that smile’s got something to do with me,” Hawke said, watching me closely as I glanced at him through my long lashes.
“Yeah,” I murmured. “Because even with how tough things are, having you makes it easier to live, and that’s enough to make me smile.”
“You will always have me. And others if that’s your desire. I’ll never restrain your passion.”
My smile widened and my heart swelled with affection for him.
You understand me so well.
I said it to him straight in my thoughts, and he answered with a smile before stealing a kiss.
“You’re never satisfied with just a quickie, are you?” I asked, and he gave a small nod.
“I prefer to take my time when I’m inside you.”
I shook my head at how boldly unfiltered he was before my gaze shifted to two expensive-looking purses, and a few smaller boxes, all wrapped with understated elegance.
Another bag held three different gowns. They were in black and purple shades— backless, short, and gorgeous dresses.
It was obvious they’d cling to me in all the right places, showing off every inch of my hourglass shape.
I let out a low, annoyed hiss.
Was this his way of turning me into eye candy for his gaze?
“The hospital should still have the clothes I came with. Can I have it?” I asked Hawke, trying to sound neutral even though I was thinking of wearing one of those dresses and doing a reverse on him by taunting him with it.
He tilted his head slightly, something close to amusement flickering in his eyes.
“I kept them.”
I blinked, confused. “Why?”
His answer was shameless and immediate.
“Because I like them.” He paused but when I gave him a look that said “really?” he added in a low, obsessed tone. “Because they smelled like you, and I need them.”
I frowned, caught somewhere between flattery and discomfort. Trust him to say something that would make me feel aroused and confused at the same time.
“We don’t have much time. Just change into one of these. I’m happy I’ll be seeing you in them before him,” he said, and clearly, he was pleased because I could see the glint of satisfaction in his eyes and the way his lips curled in a sly smirk like he’d already won the race before it even started.
The longer I stared at the gown, the more I felt slightly embarrassed and stimulated.
With a sigh of resignation, I picked the black one. It was dangerously short, barely reaching my mid-thighs.
Hawke’s gaze met mine as I pulled off the hospital gown and slipped it on.
“It looks like it’s made just for you.” He said, his deep, alluring voice filled with raw desire.
I turned and I caught my reflection in the nearby mirror. Indeed, the dress clung to my body like it had been made for me.
My shoulders were bare, curves accentuated, and an undeniable boldness in my stance.
I couldn't shake off the thought that I had worn something like this before, and I had been radiating and fearless.
“What did I wear to the Nömad Ball?” I turned around as I asked Hawke.
He didn't reply instantly. He was staring at me with his deep, intoxicating blue eyes like he was determining whether to fuck me again.
“Don’t even think about it, we need to go.” I muttered. He said nothing for a second, but his silence was louder than words.
Then came his voice, low and like a purr. “If we weren’t in such a rush, I’d have—”
“Don’t,” I cut in quickly, my cheeks flushing.
He chuckled darkly. “What? Help you zip it up?”
I gave him a look. “How did you plan to transport your coffin?” I asked him as he helped me with the zip. “Are you sure it would be safe here?” I needed to change the conversation from where it was heading because I was still aching to be fucked, and I didn’t want that bitch to come barging in again.
Maybe, I was just insatiable.
I am insatiable.
I heard Syndra’s voice echoing in my head, low and clear. Enough for me to catch the likeness in our voice.
“The CEO of the hospital is my person. He’ll ensure it’s delivered to my home discreetly and safely.”
“That’s oddly comforting,” I muttered, pulling the dress down a bit. “You’re sure it won’t get intercepted? Switched or tampered with?”
He stepped closer, his hand brushing my bare back. “He wouldn’t dare to offend me and risk this hospital getting shut down. But if we weren’t in such a hurry…” he trailed off again, his eyes dropping briefly to my cleavage that was nearly spilling out of the bodycon gown.
I arched a taunting brow. “You’d what? Try to ruin this dress before Vale even sees it on my body?”
His smirk deepened like that was exactly his intention.
I shook my head at him and grabbed one of the purses and heels. I didn’t bother with the other dresses, or the brand-new phone, or any of the unnecessary extras. Just the essentials.
“Let’s just go,” I said, brushing past him. “Hopefully, we end up in the same building.”
Hawke didn’t respond. His smirk disappeared, replaced by something like irritation. He walked me to the door and opened it without a word.
Outside of the hospital, the air was cool and quiet. It was around 7 PM, but the street was empty. Void of any human presence, while animals moved freely through the clean, serene environment.
A stray, black cat trotted across us, its tail up when it saw Hawke. He raised his hand and waved, causing me to frown slightly.
“You’re greeting it like it’s someone you know. It’s a cat, Hawke.”
“About time.” Baran made his chilly presence known before Hawke could reply.
I sighed and followed Hawke closely as we all walked to a luxurious black sedan.
Raina was standing near the car. Her gaze slid over me slowly, landing hard on the dress. Her sharp eyes narrowed with pure hatred.
“Whore,” she muttered, not bothering to lower her voice.
Hawke’s reply was calm, but it dripped with threat. “Say that one more time, and I’ll personally rip your tongue out.”
Baran gave a dry, amused laugh, his eyes drifting to me. His gaze lingered on my exposed thighs too long. Hawke caught it instantly and pulled me flush against him, his jaw tightening.
“Guess we should’ve taken longer,” he said, his tone sharper than razor. He was obviously jealous and angry. “Are we traveling by car?”
Baran shook his head and looked at his watch briefly. “No. We’re taking Vireluxe. The Jet’s waiting.”
