CHAPTER 275
CHAPTER 275
My parents had cleared out two rooms, one for holding the prisoners they'd captured the other night and one where we planned the attacks.
It had been three days of arguing and ideas being thrown in and about and I could tell they were all getting frustrated.
“We can't attack that village,” Asher yelled, banging his hand on the table, “it's too small. We need to go bigger, send a message and end this as quickly as possible!”
“But that's not the point of this–” Kathleen began but Kali, another aggressive vampire, cut her off.
“Leave the fucking point! We've been going round and round, we have the power to take them down now, why play small?”
The entire place went rowdy again, points being thrown around and Kelly just looked at me like she was about to scream her off.
I was in that state too but Nic just sat at the front facing everyone, his fists clenching and unclenching as he tried to not step on toes he should have kicked out a long time ago.
“I’m tired of these people acting like they would be here if you hadn't done what you did,” I hissed in our link and he immediately found my eyes in the crowd.
“But what do I do? These are all my superiors in rank and even those I'm on the same level with have held the title way longer than I have. I don't know what to do.”
“For one, you could stop acting like you're begging them to be here. They chose to be here, they chose to serve under you and if the military had treated you right, you wouldn't be lower in rank than any of them. This is your squad, take charge and if anyone's not okay with that, the door is wide open!”
By the time I was done speaking, his stance had changed and a dark glint covered his eyes giving the red bulbs a dark hue.
“ENOUGH!” He bellowed, shutting off every sound coming from everyone in the room.
I was immune to his compulsion but even I could feel its power radiating from him across the entire room.
“Everyone here heard my plans right in that room. You know exactly what I wanted to do before you came along. That plan isn't changing and if you have other ideas, contrasting this one, go and create your own squad. But I won't hear one more word about different plans or reasons or whatever the fuck anybody has to say. This meeting will focus on strategy, discussing the time of attack, how much equipment is gonna be needed and the tiny little details we need to iron out. I have the final say on every matter, if you have a problem with that or how I run MY squad, get the fuck out, NOW!”
No one moved.
“Finally,” Adrien chuckled from behind, “was wondering where that spine of yours would come back.”
“Well forgive me for expecting us all to behave like grown ass men who know how much is at stake here. I shouldn't be cuddling you all like children or yelling at you to eat your vegetables. We are at War! Get your shit together, will you?”
“Yessir!” The entire room rang out, respect ebbing from the room to the front where he stood, proud and making my pussy clench in lust.
“I can't tell you how hot you look right now,” I gushed in our link, licking my lips as his biceps flexed angrily.
“Shh, you're gonna ruin my reputation, woman,” he chuckled back, trying very hard not to smile.
The rest of the meeting proceeded finally, arguments never lasting more than a few minutes.
I loved how they let Kelly speak, treating her with a respect that encouraged her to come out of her shell.
“So it's decided then,” Nic announced, “we will attack in three days. And you all know what that means, more hours spent at training. This might feel like a small task but we need to be as brutal as possible, it'll drive fear in the rest. Thank you for your time.”
He got up and everyone did, giving a military salute that I knew nothing about but tried to imitate.
“No Princess, your arms go first on your face,” Asher chuckled.
“Thanks Asher,” I smiled back, “I'll get it soon, I promise.”
“You don't even need to, just keep our Captain in great condition,” Kathleen joked, winking at me.
The room erupted in raucous laughter that made me red in the face but I shook my head.
These were my people now and I didn't need to shrivel at a sexual joke.
“You all know I do a good job already,” I threw back, “in fact, I'm going to get that done right now.”
They roared in excitement as I pulled my blushing mate away from the room.
“Oof!” I screeched as he picked me off the ground suddenly, his laughter ringing out across the hallway. “What are you doing?! I can walk!”
“I know but I don't want you to,” he replied, throwing me over his shoulder for emphasis. “You deserve to walk on clouds but since I can't make that happen, I'll carry you instead, hm?”
“I'm a soldier now, you know? I should be working hard.”
“Until you have to, I'm not letting you stress yourself okay?”
“Okay,” I conceded, and then I reached down and tapped his ass.
“What are you doing?!”
“Tapping that ass,” I laughed out loud, harder when he began to run. I kept tapping it and soon people were laughing as we ran past them, not too fast that I might feel woozy so they were getting a quite good show.
When we finally got to our room, he threw me to the bed and went to lock the door.
He turned back, slowly walking back to me. The room began heating up and I couldn't help biting my lowered lip at the dark glint in his eyes with promises of pleasure.
He then took off his shirt and I gasped, my lips parting hungrily.
“You've been a bad girl,” he drawled as he climbed to the bed, his hand going around my neck.
I was exactly where I wanted to be.
