Chapter 60
Jasmine's POV
Three months later
It was the middle of winter already. It took us three months to convince the supernatural races to hear us out and make their decisions. Some were harder to convince, but in the end everyone chose wisely. There was no news of Barbie no matter how hard we looked for her. The demon realm was different too. With hard work and help the standard of living improved. There were no classes, everybody was equal. Axel started the jewelry business and Dimitri paid off all the debts. We were finally happy together. I was officially the Luna of the pack. Ro announced two weeks ago that she’s pregnant. I was happy for her and she was practically growing. She belongs to the lucky group, because she doesn’t suffer from morning sickness that much. As for me, we decided to wait to have kids until Barbie is taken down. With Hector’s death Aaron became the head of the council.
“Aryana, we have found Barbie’s hiding place. Vampires reported that they noticed some activity.”
“Did you send groups there?”
“Yes, they’re on the way. Once they get there they’ll prepare for every possibility.”
“Perfect. Anything else going on?”
“Nothing else.”
Aaron was a great help and he quickly adjusted to his new position. Dimitri was doing all the paperwork and I’ve been going back and forth between the two realms. When things slowed down a bit I actually managed to spend more time with my family. Selene couldn’t find anything about the prophecy and why it was wrong. Her most trusted seer friend claimed that that was exactly what they saw when the prophecy was made. I was still troubled by that, but I let it go. Hector was dead and soon Barbie will follow him to the grave too. Maybe two hours later Ajax came back with the soldiers. They were bruised, but alive.
“What happened?”
“We found her, but she was strong and almost killed all of us.”
“How is that possible? She’s just a wolf and you’re demons. Was she alone? Is she still there?”
“We’re not sure, my Queen. After we retreated she was still at that place and didn’t move an inch. She was all alone, but something was off. She was using some kind of magic.”
“Calypso, do you know anything?”
“Nope, I have no idea how she is capable of using magic. We have to go there and see with our own eyes.”
“Ajax, take me there please. No objections.”
With a defeated sigh he offered his services. We arrived at an average looking house. I didn’t feel anything at all. I stepped towards the house and suddenly I passed through an energy field. As if sensing my presence, Barbie opened the door and came outside. She wasn’t expecting me and her expression showed that.
“How did you get inside the field?”
“I simply crossed it. Now would you come with me willingly or should I use force?”
“I can’t leave no matter what. I give up, you won. I felt it when Hector died. He wanted revenge on your family and he used me. When you opened the gate he came to me and prohibited me from getting out of the house.”
“What about the rogues and wolves you gathered?”
“I never wanted to cause a mess like this. All I wanted was to be the Luna of the pack, but then you came and took that from me. I was blinded by jealousy and I started looking for wolves who could help me become stronger and eventually get the Luna title.”
“How did you get trapped in this house?”
“Hector brought me here. He was babbling something about his ancestors and that this house belonged to them. I don’t know anything else.”
“Why did you attack the soldiers?”
“It was self defense. I thought they were Hector’s men and came to kill me. The magical field kept them outside.”
“Did he tell you anything about a prophecy?”
“I overheard him talking with someone once. He said his ancestor made this plan long ago to divert attention. The man in the prophecy was Hector all along, but now he’s gone.”
“Did he say anything about how to lift the spell?”
“He said it’s impossible. He knew that you won’t be able to activate your magic which can end my imprisonment.”
“I’ll be back soon.”
She was telling the truth, because Calypso was asking the questions and not me. She was only used. I decided to help her despite everything. She was here alone and forgot about her jealousy issues and accepted the truth. When I went back to the pack house I told Axel and Dimitri everything. They were shocked, but knew that she was telling the truth. Ares was God knows where and I needed him. I searched for him through our bond and found out that he was at the place where Barbie is trapped. He must have been following me all along as he overheard my conversation with Ajax.
“Ares, how did you know where I was?” - I asked him after I returned.
“I heard everything. If you want I can lift the spell, just like at the cave. You just have to say the word.”
“You can do it, but I need to talk with Barbie first. You can come back to the pack, but you’ll be under supervision for a while. One little mishap and you find yourself back here. Am I clear?”
“Thank you, Luna. I didn’t expect that you’ll forgive me and accept me back to the pack. I won’t cause trouble. I promise.”
After this I gave Ares the green light and he started working. He finished fairly soon and Ajax teleported us back to the pack house. Everyone was vary of Barbie after everything she caused intentionally and unintentionally.
Finally everything was over and all the secrets and conspiracies surfaced. I let my guard down after months and it felt damn good. We have nothing left to do, only improve the demon realm further. If someone would’ve told me all this a year ago I would’ve laughed in his face and run for the hills. And here I was. Having two mates and two separate presences sharing my body and soul. I was a Luna and a Queen in one. I found my family and my brother is alive. Hector is dead and I discovered the truth after so many centuries. My best friend is here with me and happy with her mate. That’s all I could ask for. Only one thing was missing, my own family. I want to have kids someday and I’m sure that my mates will gladly agree to that.
