Well, our new daughter woke up early demanding breakfast, which was expected, she is very demanding most of the time. She hates to have a wet or dirty diaper so far, of course she’s only a couple of days old, so she’s trying to adjust to life on the outside, which I am sure is a very big shock. Jareth just watches her, like he’s not quite sure what this new wiggling, wailing, bundle is against his mother’s chest. 

She wants to try to breast feed them both, but with a newborn I’m not honestly sure that will end up being something she can take on, that’s a whole lot. We are all here and more than happy to jump in and feed or help take care of either of them. I will say our daughter is damn beautiful, I can’t imagine how she is going to look as she grows up, and I have a feeling all of us dads are going to have our hands full. 

If she’s a dragon rider, maybe we can teach her dragon to eat people? That’s an idea. Then we would have a big fucking animal ready to defend our baby girl if any strange boys try to get too close. I’m being ridiculous, I know, but I can’t seem to help it. 

Her skin is the color of milk chocolate mixed with cream. So far her eyes look like they are going to end up going with dad just like her skin in that they are blue, but more of a steel blue with that edge of grey. We’ll see if they change anymore or not. 

We’re going to attempt to take her downstairs and introduce her to everyone tomorrow. So, we’ll see how that goes. Right now we are trying to help Tali and let her sleep as much as she can between feedings. Jareth is playing on his mat, and he’s started crawling everywhere, so we are trying to keep up with that, and make sure he’s safe. 

We did manage to bring Kira down with Jareth and the rest of us for breakfast. We have started feeding Jareth more solid foods, or at least soft foods, as that boy loves his scrambled eggs. So, they have set up a high chair for him and they love to play with him and he loves being the center of attention. The hounds have developed an extremely good report with him. I wonder if it has something to do with the blessing he sent out or if it’s the other way in that he instinctively sent out the blessing because of the connection he has with them? Who knows?

Uiseeli was beside herself when she held Kira for the first time. They just stared at each other, and Uiseeli smiled like they were having some secret conversation, and who knows they might have. Tali has specifically asked Gihanna that unless there’s something dangerous she needs to be aware of that she doesn’t want to know anything she might happen to see about the kids, and she readily agreed completely understanding and sharing Tali’s view that it would be more hurtful than helpful. 

We finished breakfast and we are now going out to introduce the now sleeping Kira to Oohlar and Niheshi, and the pack who is out here in wolf form. She met the ones in the hall having breakfast already. So, as we walk to them, Oohlar picks up his head from where he was dozing in the sun. His eyes get huge as Tali approaches with the baby. Tali takes her close as we stand back and let them have their time. He respects us and we respect him, but we’ll never have the relationship Tali has with him of course. 

I hear and see Tali throw her head back and laugh, startling the baby awake. She starts to look like she’s going to cry, until she sees Oohlar as he puts his face very close to her. Then she stops, and even as a newborn, she looks like she’s looking at him, and I have no idea what any of that might mean, she is a dragon rider after all. 

We got to the rest of the pack and Cerberus takes her and introduces her to the wolves who are there, still in wolf form from doing patrols. They all sniff her and get excited yipping and wagging tails. So, that was good. Now, I can see Tali is tired so we go back into the hall.

“Come on, love. I can see that you’re tired, so it’s time for a nap until Kira needs her next feeding. We still have a couple of the bottles you pumped for Jeremy later, and he had a good breakfast down with us in the hall today, so that will be more than enough. So you need to rest while you can, as we both know she won’t let you do so for long.” She smiles up at me as she nods agreeing.

I lead her up the stairs with Cerberus following with the baby, and the rest of the guys following behind him. So, we have a whole procession making it’s way up to our room. When we get there, I help Tali get into bed and she’s out before her head hits the pillow. Cerberus changes the baby, before he puts her in the bassinet we got for her. We’ve talked about what we want to do for sleeping arrangements for the kids. Jareth is not big enough for a bed yet, even a toddler one, so the best bet will be to get Kira a crib as she gets a bit bigger. That room will hold another crib with no problem, so just making it into the nursery effectively seems the best bet for now. 

Of course that whole discussion leads to others about where we are going to stay. Will we live here in the palace of the protectors as technically Tali is the only survivor of the royal family, or she will be as soon as we kill Raphael. So, we have a lot of decisions to be made. 

Suddenly there’s a knock at the door and it’s rather frantic, Simion goes to open it and Sihilich is standing there out of breath, “What’s wrong?” is the first words out of Simion’s mouth.

“We found him, we found Raphael.” you could hear a pin drop.

Tali is suddenly awake and walking to us, “Where, where is he, Sihilich?”
