Malcolm And Michaela

Malcolm And Michaela
Malcolm’s POV…

In my analogy of the week, I mentioned that Thursday becomes settled. Now, I believe you’re still wondering what I mean by that. Settled how? Like everything for the day is paid for? Yes, actually, but not quite in the natural way. Spiritual debts are what are paid for, every single one of them…

The storms of your life settle. The winds stop blowing. The waves become little splashes. The day is calm and enjoyable. Everything goes your way. The balance of the universe aligns in your favor. Your understanding increases. Your faith is expressed in every step you take and in every word that comes out of your mouth. Angels hold your hand when you cross the streets. Wild animals become tame in your presence. The Spirit of the Lord oozes in every direction you look. You shine, and the world can feel it!

I woke up this morning and the first thing on my mind was Michaela. Usually when I wake up, the first person I think about is the Lord, and then I go to Him in prayer or worship or praise or adoration. But today, I could only focus on Michaela. As I rose from the bed, my Spirit reminded me of something I had seen in the dream last night. Something that involved her.

And as I got myself ready for the day, she remained on my mind.

I feel the need to state that this isn’t one of those monologues where the man’s thinking about the woman he loves but can’t seem to know why he can’t get her out of his mind, crazy in love, uncertain of what the status of his relationship with her is.

This monologue is constructed based on pure facts. So too is my need to be around Michaela today.

We’re engaged. She’s met my mother, who approves of her. Cherilyn and I would wed first, and I would marry her after a year or maybe two. It was pretty clear now, to me and to her. However, despite this being the plan, it would only be expected due to our human nature that the idea of being tagged ‘the second’ would leave a bad feeling in the pit of anyone’s stomach. I don’t see why this can’t also be the case for Michaela. She’d never admit to it, but it’s legitimately a relevant and expected feeling.

Which was why I felt the intense need to strengthen my relationship with her—just as I had done with Cherilyn when we both prayed at the BBC. I called her up by seven in the morning, and we kept chatting all through the morning. Until she finally said the words I was already planning to say myself.

“Do you want to come over today?”

She was taking the day off. I was taking the day off. Cherilyn texted me about having to go to a meeting today…which meant it was the perfect way to spend my settled day—with Michaela.

Michaela’s POV…

It wasn’t necessarily a nightmare, but it was one of those weird dreams that just left you feeling uncertain—the type whose details you wouldn’t be able to recollect after waking up. Maybe I’m just on edge because Cherilyn would be meeting with the reporter today. I was afraid that Zara would see through the illusion, but then again, there was no valid reason to support in seeing why she would. She didn’t know Cherilyn from before. It would seem completely spontaneous and if Cherry does what she has to do accordingly, then it should work.

If it hadn’t been for the fact that Malcolm had been chatting with me throughout the day, I’m not sure how I would have been able to cope with the anxiety. While I did some chores, we talked. While I was having breakfast, we were still talking. Even when I decided to do some yoga, he remained on the line and it kept feeling like God was trying to tell me something. I felt that way for a good while, until I decided to do something about it… And so, I invited him over and he agreed to come. He’s already on his way right now!

I changed my clothes, styled my hair, applied my scented oils and prayed in the Spirit. I remained in the spirit for about twenty minutes, until I heard the sound of Malcolm’s car parking on my driveway. It felt like I had been praying for just ten seconds, honestly. I didn’t feel properly filled. It didn’t mean I wasn’t, it just didn’t help that I wasn’t feeling it.

I quickly went downstairs. I went to the door and took a deep breath. And I clicked the door open, only to find him standing there with a bouquet in his right hand and a smile on his perfect face. It didn’t take long before we got into the day, and began enjoying each other’s company.

We eventually found ourselves on the carpeted floor of my living room, and I was showing him how I use special breath control to regulate the temperature of my body at supernatural speed. He was quite impressed. He had a few powers of his own, but he was fascinated with my technique nonetheless. While we sat there, we talked about a few things.

I asked him about his sister, but he didn’t say much concerning Lola. Then we ended up talking about his week, and he mentioned something I hadn’t known prior to today; about his ex’s presence in his company for the whole of the week…

It seemed too coincidental that she was the one who represented her news network, and I could agree with myself when I concluded that it certainly wasn’t a coincidence. With Zara Kigsley constantly finding new ways to be around Malcolm, I began to feel something finally.

Cherilyn needed to succeed today. And I was meant to play my part according to her plan, already thinking of how best to structure my words when I would cancel our meeting, so Zara could be well frustrated by it. This reporter needed to get going…
