CHAPTER 110

CHAPTER 110
“Austin?” Chase’s voice pulled me out of my swirling thoughts, snapping me back to reality.

I blinked and looked down—he was already staring up at me, those playful eyes of his catching mine.

“Yeah?” I asked, trying to sound casual, though my heart was pounding like crazy.

“I feel something hard,” he said, a mischievous smile spreading across his lips.

“Sorry, what?” I asked, confused for a second, my mind instantly jumping to all the wrong conclusions.

“Under my nape,” he added, still smiling like he knew exactly what he was doing to me.

Damn. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding, my face heating up. “It’s probably just the remote…” I muttered, trying to hide how flustered I felt, and reached around him to grab it.

"I don't think it's a remote," he said, his voice low, teasing. Before I could respond, he shifted—getting up from lying on my legs and moving in closer, much closer.

Instinctively, I leaned my back against the sofa, needing space, but not really wanting it.

I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry, as I felt his breath—warm, soft—brush against the tip of my nose.

His face was so close now, too close. My heart raced, thudding against my chest. I didn’t dare move. Didn’t dare speak.

He smirked, and for a second, I thought he was staring at my lips. That’s what I wanted to believe—until I realized where his eyes had actually landed.

Damn it.

He was looking at that—the obvious bulge inside my pants.

The heat rushed to my face as I quickly, but gently, pushed him back and grabbed a small pillow, placing it over my lap.

"Crazy," I muttered, my voice tight with embarrassment, feeling my cheeks burn.

Chase just laughed softly, that mischievous glint still in his eyes, making it even harder to calm myself down.

"It's okay. That's normal. Especially when you're alone with your lover in a cozy apartment," Chase said, his tone teasing but soft.

I felt my face get even warmer. "What are you talking about? You're talking nonsense," I replied, trying to play it off. I shifted, about to stand up just to escape the situation and my embarrassment.

But before I could, Chase reached out and gently grabbed my hand, pulling me back down onto the sofa.

His grip was firm, but comforting. I stared at him, caught between wanting to hide and wanting to stay exactly where I was. My heart was beating so fast, I swore he could hear it.

"Do it. I know you want to do something to me," Chase said, his voice low, his smile soft but sure.

My breath hitched. "What... do you mean? I..." The words stumbled out of me, my mind racing, heart pounding in my chest.

"I know. I can tell." His eyes held mine, warm and inviting. That smile of his—it made everything inside me melt. "I want it. So, do it."

I froze for a second, staring at him, trying to believe this was real. The tension between us felt heavy and electric. My hands, almost without thinking, reached for him—hesitant at first, then sure, because I knew... I wanted it too.

Letting go of all the hesitation that had been holding me back, I finally gave in to what I’d been feeling all along. I gently pushed Chase, and he let himself fall back onto the sofa, his eyes locked on mine. And just like that, I found myself above him, my heart racing so loud I swore he could hear it.

Without another thought, I leaned down and kissed him—soft at first, as if I was still afraid this was all just a dream. But the second his lips moved against mine, warm and eager, I felt everything else melt away. He kissed me back like he’d been waiting for this too, his hand sliding up to rest on my back, pulling me just a little closer.

And for that moment, it was just us—no hesitations, no world outside. Just him and me.

As our kiss deepened, I felt Chase shift beneath me. Before I even realized what was happening, he gently but firmly turned the tables—guiding me down until I was lying on the sofa, and he was on top of me.

I could feel the weight of his body pressing against mine, grounding me, as if he was the only thing that mattered in that moment. The warmth radiating from him sent shivers down my spine, and my hands instinctively found their way to his back.

My heart pounded so hard I was sure he could hear it. His lips moved with mine, soft and demanding all at once, and I felt myself getting lost in him—lost in us.

After spending the whole afternoon with Chase, I finally headed home. The city was alive outside the cab window, neon signs flickering, and the distant hum of traffic filling the air. I leaned back against the seat, feeling a bit tired but oddly content.

Then, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out, unlocking the screen to see a message from Chase.

I opened it—and nearly laughed out loud.

There he was. Topless. His damp hair falling messily over his forehead, droplets of water still clinging to his skin. His abs on full display, like he knew exactly what he was doing.

I smirked, shaking my head. "Get your ass dress up and go to work," I texted back, hitting send before I could overthink it.

But then… I stared at his picture again. My thumb instinctively pinched the screen, zooming in. I couldn’t help it—taking in every detail. The way his collarbones stood out, the faint lines of muscle on his stomach.

God. I bit the inside of my cheek, leaning my head against the window.

Chase really was going to be the end of me.

Again, my phone vibrated. I glanced down and saw Chase’s name light up on the screen. I opened his message.

"I miss you already."

I let out a soft laugh through my nose, shaking my head. "Tss."

A small smile tugged at my lips before I could stop it. I stared at his words for a second longer, feeling that familiar warmth spread through my chest.

After a while, the taxi slowed to a stop in front of my place. I handed the driver the fare, mumbled a quick “thanks,” and jumped out. The air was cooler now, and I let out a breath as I made my way to the gate, pushing it open.

I didn’t waste any time—I just wanted to get inside. My legs felt heavy from the long day, and my mind kept drifting back to Chase, to that smile, to his message.

Once I stepped into the house, everything felt quiet. I headed straight for my room and grabbed a fresh towel. The water ran over me as I showered, washing off the stickiness of the day. I closed my eyes, letting the warmth ease the tension from my shoulders.

After I took a shower, I grabbed a towel and started drying my hair, letting out a quiet sigh as the cool air of my room touched my skin. My eyes drifted toward my phone on the nightstand, and I reached for it, half-expecting what I’d see.

Sure enough, there it was—a message from Chase.

"Already at the store. Starting my night shift now."

A small smile tugged at my lips. I typed my reply, my fingers hesitating for just a second before I hit send.

"Take care. Good night."

I stared at the screen for a moment longer, feeling that familiar warmth in my chest before finally setting the phone down.
