CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN.
ROSALIE'S POV.
Ophelia jolted to her feet, catching people's attention and she began to misbehave. First, she clenched her head, then her stomach, and altogether, her body, like a fire was burning all over her body.
"Ah!" She shouted painfully and began to clench hurriedly and I watched her eyes producing pain, "Make this stop!" She shouted again.
Someone angrily banged the table beside and I turned to the source to see the phoenix king consumed in anger, "What the hell is this?! Stop your madness and stop creating a scene here!" He yelled at her.
From the words he spoke, it was said that he thought that Ophelia was framing the pains and everything like she was pretending, and that was exactly what I wanted, for everyone to hate her and for her to feel pain.
"No! Take the pain away, it hurts!" She shouted more, and her tears began to pull out like a waterfall.
"Scott!" The phoenix king shouted the name that all the four corners of the hall shook, and Scott came running, "Take your shameless bitch out of here, and never in your life must you make me see her. If I do, that will be her last day on earth."
Scott gazed between Ophelia and the king, and I felt his anger blazing around him, but who was he angry at? The king? Ophelia?
Ophelia.
He got hold of Ophelia's wrist and began to pull her away. "Scott, my body...."
He cut her off, "Shut the fuck up!"
As soon as he was done snapping at her, Ophelia began to cough. Scott let go of her wrist like she was a virus, and everyone watched her fall to the ground.
She hit the ground, and she began to bleed from her head.
Her cough went so bad that she began to cough out blood, and when she puked, it was blood.
"What the....." People around gasped astonishingly while I watched with a smile on my face.
I so much enjoyed what I was seeing, it gave me so much joy to know that I was the one responsible for that.
"Take her to the clinic!" Someone shouted, and Scott, instead of taking her to the clinic like he was told, moved away from her, probably irritated by the sight in front of him, and his disgust was all over him.
"S... Scott.", Ophelia called, and her bloody hand stretched towards Scott, but he took no step towards her.
"I said take her to the clinic!" The same voice spoke again.
"Why not take her there yourself?!" Another voice countered, and that stopped all the attempts to help Ophelia.
She became bad and worse that I began to pity her, and I turned to Jacqueline, only to catch his eyes on me, he had been staring at me the whole time.
"What?" I questioned him.
"Why did you do it when you know you won't be able to watch it?"
There was no point in pretending to him that I wasn't the one who did it, so I rolled my eyes, "I never knew that she had no friend."
That can only justify why no one volunteered to help her.
I took my eyes back to Jacqueline, "Aren't you supposed to help her? She's your ex."
"Normally, I should be feeling the pain she's passing through right now with her, but right now, I don't, all I can feel is a heart filled with regret."
My eyes widened, "Really? Is she regretting everything she did to you? Wow! She changed."
Jacqueline clinked his tongue, "Who said I'm feeling her emotions? The regret is from you, not her."
I frowned, "Why will you be feeling my emotions? That doesn't make any sense to me."
"If you don't want her to die, just help her." He told me, and I knew he was intentionally diverting my question.
I overlooked his plight and moved away from him towards Ophelia who was still groaning on the floor.
"Move away from her, her sickness might be contagious." Someone said to me.
"Don't worry, it's not, I'm a doctor," I assured whoever was talking.
I crouched before Ophelia and felt her temperature and heartbeat before opening my clutch and searching through it for some emergency herbs I always go about with.
I found what I was looking for, and helped her to drink it. Thankfully, it would help her because she was a werewolf, and the emergency herb was for werewolves and humans.
I helped her to lie on the ground, and she went numb with her eyes opened. I knew she was conscious. She could hear anything anyone said to her, but she wouldn't be able to react, and neither could she respond.
I leaned towards her ear and whispered, "This was how your Jackie was when you chose your evil alpha over him. Though I won't but thank you for leaving him, now, he's transformed into a new being, and he's mine."
I raised my head to stare at her, and she could only react with her eyes, which were popped out, and they were red from her tears.
I gave her a beautiful fake smile, "Get well soon."
I stood up to my feet and addressed the people, "She's fine now."
"Yay!" Everyone clapped and began to rain some praises on me.
"Well done, Luna."
"You're too kind, Luna."
"What's that magic herb, Luna? Can you treat the sick people here before you leave?"
"I think I need an autograph."
Everyone kept on muttering and some people came to carry Ophelia away.
Everywhere had been disorganized, the party had indirectly ended, and we were to go back to our homes.
Jacqueline came and stood beside me, "Well done, you have just ended everything smartly."
I smiled at him and watched the disorganized place, and people moving about to and fro. Also, the leaders from the six kingdoms had disappeared to goddess knows where.
"Come on, let's return home," I said to Jacqueline and he nodded.
He held my waist and began to lead me outside when we were stopped by a guard, "Sorry to stop you, alpha and Luna, but my king would like to have a word with you before you leave." He said to us.
I glanced at Jacqueline to see he was not ready to say a thing, so I questioned.
"Where is he?"
"Just around. He'll join you soon, please, exercise some patience.'' He bowed to us and walked away.
"What do you think he wants to tell us?" I questioned Jacqueline with my eyes on the guard's retreating figure.
"Something relating to us staying til tomorrow. I know they won't let us go. They aren't done with their work yet."
I sighed, "Let's just wait, you might be wrong."
We found a seat close to us and sat down, waiting for the king and trying not to get bored.
"Are you hungry?" Jacqueline questioned me.
"Starving."
He stood up, "I'll be back in a minute." He walked away before I could respond to him.
I was on my seat waiting for Jacqueline to return when someone joined me there, the person sat down on the seat Jacqueline was sitting.
I was not in for any sort of conversation and friend-making in the kingdom, so I ignored whoever he was. I didn't bother to stare at him.
"See how quiet you are, like an angel." He spoke up.
"A devil is not lousy, I can tell," I replied sarcastically to him.
He chuckled, "You seem to know so much."
"I am not lazy to read."
"Then you must know me."
That got my eyes on him, and I beheld a devilishly handsome man whose red hair was long and bound together with ribbon, and his sharp jaw caught my attention. So handsome.
It was like a spell on me. I was being forced to check him out, but I pulled myself back from the invisible pull and stared away from him.
"You're a first." He commented.
"First in what? To sit calm beside you and not jump on you?"
"That. You're also the first to stare away from me with one glance and not drool."
"I see, and who knows, I might be the last also."
"I can tell," He then stretched his hand towards me for a handshake, "Dracula." He introduced.
My eyes lingered on his extra white hand, and I traced it back to his face to notice its whiteness. I cringed, "You're a vampire."
"The king of them all." I watched him bite his lower lip before speaking again, "I guess my complexion gave me away."
I relaxed and took his outstretched hand. Cold, it was so cold that all I wanted was to let it go "Martha." I quickly introduced myself, shook his hand once and let it go.
He chuckled, "There shouldn't be any rush."
I glanced at him again and stared away, "Aren't you supposed to be somewhere, sucking some juicy blood like you people call it?"
"Why will I, when one is right beside me here?"
"Who? Me?"
He smiled.
My heart sang and my eyes lingered on his sharp incisors.
'Will I be a food for the vampire king now?'
