CHAPTER NINETEEN

The next days were hard for everyone. After a couple of months, Damien and Lauren had slipped into a coma and the police were still conducting their investigation so Jane and Nathan were stuck with Paula and Gab.

It was more of a routine. Jane would wake up with Harry as they now slept together. She would bathe then feed him then they would play all day at the gazebo as Jane read his children’s book and stories.

It was almost perfect, the connection that had blossomed between them and she wasn’t complaining. Meanwhile, Nathan had to give reports on the research he had been researching and handed it over to top government officials before they would get into any trouble.

So on days like this, Nathan would have breakfast with Gab in the dining before coming out to the gazebo to greet Harry.

On this particular day, Nathan came out without a shirt on and as Jane looked up, the sun shone directly on the biceps he had grown back at the little gym at the back of the house.

He pushed his fingers through his hair and the movement made his muscles flex which caught Jane’s attention. She couldn’t tell why she was suddenly feeling hot all over. She watched him from the corner of her eyes as he approached them.

Harry squealed with joy when he saw Nathan who carried him once he was within reach “How’s my little boy doing?” he asked Harry who clapped his hands, showing off his now missing set of teeth.

Nathan sat down close to Jane making her breath hitch as she felt his body heat so close to her. it made her core clench in anticipation but she rebuked it.

“Hey,” he said to her “Sleep well.”

She nodded, unable to find her words or use them properly. She shifted in her seat trying to put space between them but Nathan moved closer with her every attempt.

“What are you doing?” she asked him as he drew closer. Nathan sat Harry on his mat as he continued playing with his toys.

“I can no longer deny the feelings I have for you,” he said making Jane freeze where she sat. she turned slowly to him, there was no way he felt the same way she did. No man she had ever liked her as much as she did them.

She just stared at him. The silent gazes they’ve been sharing over dinner, the slight touch of skin as they passed each other in the hallway. She was about to speak when someone cleared their throat. It was Paula.

“You two should go out. The weather is nice today. Go see a movie or something. Go do what you young ones do these days,” she said, her eyes twinkling at the corner.

“What of Harry? I have to stay here and watch him,” Jane argued. She wanted to spend time with Nathan but she also wasn’t sure if she wanted to pursue her feelings with him. there would be a major problem for her if Damien woke up and still insisted that they got married. There were many factors on the way but before she could object, Nathan spoke on their behalf.

“Thank you, Paula, if you don’t mind.” He took Jane’s hand and steered her towards the house.

“Nathan,” she started, “you don’t have to.”

“Trust me, I’ve wanted to in a very long time,” he said. “Get dressed, something simple, let me bring the car out front,” he said, smiling at her before he ushered her into the house after opening the door for her.

Jane looked in her wardrobe for something simple to wear but still exuded sexiness at the same time. She tried on the gowns she had but wasn’t satisfied with anything until she wore a black dress. There was nothing special about it but the black boosted her confidence and fell just a few inches from her thigh.

Next, she brushed her hair before putting it in a bun. She ran lipstick over her lips and applied a little mascara. She smacked her lips and left it at that, so it wouldn’t look like she was dressing all up for him.

She put on her strap sandals before grabbing a purse and going downstairs. Nathan was standing at the foot of the stairs when she got down. He was wearing a beach shirt with the tops buttons exposing his masculine chest and shorts.

“My carriage awaits,” he said in a fake British accent and bowed. Jane laughed at that, placing her hand in his when she reached him and he placed a kiss on her hand.

He held her hand as they walked out of the house. He opened the door for her dramatically and closed it when she entered.

For the first since they stayed together Jane didn’t know what to say, it was like she had suddenly grown shy in his presence and became tongue-tied.

Nathan fiddle with the radio before stopping at a station that was playing country music. He didn’t know how to make conversation either. He had always been the quiet one amongst them when they were young. He preferred to say very little and read a lot.

Jane glanced at him, wondering if he was feeling as nervous as she was “What do you have planned then?” she asked to avoid the awkward silence that was threatening to befall them.

Nathan scratched the back of his head “Honestly…I’ve got nothing. We’re probably just going to wing it,” he answered.

Jane nodded. “Very well then, we’ll see a movie first.”

*****

They did see a movie first, they both didn’t know the name because they both couldn’t concentrate. Not with them sitting very close together.

Jane looked at Nathan but he was already looking at her, she smiled, a pink blush creeping from her neck to her cheeks.

He brushed the stray hair from her bun and tucked it behind her neck. He let his finger linger for a while on her ear before he traced her cheekbones with it. He stopped at the corner of her lips. He had thought about kissing her a lot these past days, and now she was here, within his reach.

Jane decided for him. she leaned to him and pressed her lips to his. She was about to pull away when he held her chin and kissed her back.

She relaxed in his hands as he deepened the kiss. She grabbed his hair, caressing it as she had always wanted to do. It was soft and silky, exactly like she had imagined it.

He explored her mouth as his life depended on it, licking, teasing until they were both out of the air, he broke the kiss and pecked her forehead. Jane smiled. This was the first time she’d ever felt truly loved by someone.

She looked at Nathan, she wasn’t sure if she was to mention her engagement with Damien. But, if things ever got serious between them, she wanted him to know the truth. Yes, a part of her still cared for Damien maybe even love but whatever it was with Nathan, set her soul on fire.

They spent the rest of the movie in each other’s arms, wondering why they hadn’t done this sooner. They got ice cream after the movie, never letting each other’s hands go until they got to the car. He opened the car and kissed her before she got in.

When he got into the car, Jane had already put on the radio, a slow love song pouring into the car and increasing the need between the two of them.

Nathan took the bold move this time, he leaned across his seat and kissed her, twining his fingers in her hair as he untied it. He groaned, pulling Jane closer to him. Unable to take the space that was still between them, Jane moved over to his side and straddled him.

He smiled. She was exactly his kind of girl. He pulled her tighter with his hands roaming her body before finally settling on her ass. They gave the kiss all that they had as they both to take dominance with their tongue.

Nathan broke the kiss, his hand at the nape of his neck. They went down to her zipper and she nodded, giving him permission to explore her body to the fullest. He pulled her dress down before unclasping her bra. She let him take it off all the while they maintained eye contact.

This moment felt more intimate than it should have, it felt like they were baring their souls. Like they finally found themselves after being so lonely in the world.

Jane cried out in pleasure when he took her breast in his mouth, rolling his nipple around with his tongue before biting it lightly.

She cried out, grabbing his seat to steady herself. He went from one breast to the other, giving them both equal attention before using his big hands to knead them. He massaged it, using his fingers to pinch her nipple between them.

Jane arched her back unable to take the torture anymore. “I need you know,” she moaned, grinding her hips into his.

Her hands reached out and pulled down his shorts and he sprang out. She held him in her hands, marveled at how huge he was.

Nathan reached down to her core and spread her underwear with his fingers, he rubbed her clit, holding on to the sensitive spot. He kept rubbing her before slipping his finger in. He stroked her slowly, making her read for him.

Unable to hold out Jane held pulled his finger and raised her hip before gently settling herself down onto him. she moaned as he filled her up, his huge size stretching her in ways she never thought possible.

Slowly she began to ride him until she adjusted fully to him and then she picked up speed. Nathan dug his fingers into her hip, guiding her to him and slamming into her at the same rhythm. They got lost in each other, each satiating their hunger.

Jane screamed as she climaxed, Nathan following closely behind. He put his forehead on hers as they recovered from their high, their breath evening as they looked at each other.

“That was…”

“Perfect,” Nathan finished for her. “I’ve never felt like this,” he said, he pushed her hair from her face, putting it behind her ear. He kissed her forehead, then her cheek.

“Where have you been all my life?” he asked her.

She laughed before putting on her bra as Nathan helped her dress up and he pulled his shorts back in place. She sat down on the seat but Nathan was unable to look away from her, it was like she had become a thousand times more beautiful to him.

Jane waited for the guilt to come or the regret but there was no happiness. She was happy having sex with Nathan in the car and didn’t feel one bit bad about it.

She saw him look at him with so much admiration and something that looked like love in his eyes but she didn’t want to jump to a conclusion.

Jane turned to Nathan, making up her mind to tell him about her and Damien and how she didn’t know where they stood if he ever woke up.

“Nathan…” she started cautiously, “I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“The thing is…” Her heart thudded. She wasn’t sure this was a good idea. What if Nathan refused her then because she had something to do with his friend, she sent a prayer hoping that what she was going to tell him would work out for the best.

“What is it babe?” he asked.

Jane’s eyes widened at what he called her, if he liked her that much then this wouldn’t change anything about what they just shared and what she hoped that they would.

“I was engaged to Damien.”

She waited for his response but none came. He looked so deep in thought that she was growing worried.

“Why didn’t you tell me this before?” he asked, his tone becoming angry as he looked away from her.

Jane felt her stomach drop when he turned. For a long time, nobody talked, and as the silence became overbearing, Nathan’s phone rang. He picked it up, appreciating the distraction.

“He’s what?” she asked.

He hung up and looked at Jane, “Damien is awake.”
