Chapter 69-4
"C'mon we've got a funeral to attend. But first thing first. I'm gonna feed you." He brought a spoon filled with rice and started to feed me. I tried to take the spoon from him but he wouldn't let me. I stopped trying after try number 2 because I was tired physically so I didn't push him. "I didn't know Lily came," I said and Heath chuckled. "She was sitting outside your door yesterday evening. Are you sure you didn't hear her?" He asked and I shook my head. "Well, she was pretty worried about you and sat there for like two hours. She believed that you would open the door but I knew you wouldn't because you're stubborn." He pecked my nose and then fed me again. "Heath," I called his name and he looked at me.. "Yes, Rose." He circled his arms around my waist and waited for me to finish the sentence. I was nervous. "Do you know…i…I don't know how to write an eulogy." I said and he weakly smiled. "On the podium just say whatever you feel like saying. Don't write an eulogy. Instead, let it come out of your heart." He hugged me and I nuzzled my head in his neck. Minutes passed and we didn't move away. This guy had me at my worst and my best. He loved me and I could never see myself with anyone. For once I could see something good for me in the future. "Take a quick shower because we're running late." I nodded my head and ran into the bathroom. While washing myself I didn't let myself go to the dark place I had just walked out of. Instead, I focused on the good things like chocolate. There was a basket full of chocolates sitting on my bed for the rest of my life. Not long enough I was done and walked out of the bathroom with a towel around me. The moment I stepped out Heath gave me clothes and I changed into them. He even gave me the undergarments which had a red bra and white panties. I giggled at his choice of colors. And the fact that he went through my undergarment section made me flush hard from embarrassment. Hurriedly I got out and we exited the house. Sitting in the car my leg was continuously bouncing up and down and a thick cloud of anxiety was hovering over me. Heath laid a bar of chocolate in my lap and I peeked at him. "You need glucose to function properly and also to calm you down." He said and I advanced and kissed his cheek even though he was driving. The ride was short and so was my chocolate. It had finished the moment he parked the car in the parking lot. My hands began to shiver and my breathing quickened. I was falling apart already. I hadn't even stepped into the church yet. Heath grabbed my hand and squeezed it. Warm sensations melted my nervousness and relaxed me. "I've got you, Rose." Moving forward he kissed my forehead and then looked down at my quivering lips. Slightly smiling he bowed and took my lips into his and pulled me into a tender and sweet kiss. It managed to put my body to ease and I was shocked how much he affected me. "C'mon let's go inside the church." Heath got out and then helped me out of the car. Together we walked inside and I felt a little out of my element but with one touch of Heath, I was okay. As we walked inside the church. Some pairs of eyes trained on us but I avoided them. Heath and I sat at the back of the benches and listened to the sad yet melodious hymn that was being sung by the choir. As it ended a priest came and said in the mic. "It's time to say our final words to Mr Alex Ray Hanson before we go out, and proceed with the burial. If any of you has an eulogy or something you want to say. Please step up here." I looked at mom who was crying. At once she stood up to get onto the podium but tripped halfway and Frank rushed to her rescue. But she did make it to the stage. She stood in front of the podium, and everyone in the room gave her sympathetic looks.
