Chapter 84 Dual Soul Body
After parking the car, Bernard made his way to the plaza to meet up with the group.
As soon as Clara saw Bernard coming, she got ready to lead them to the Art and Design Department.
Out of nowhere, Lorna felt a burning sensation on her wrist. Her face turned serious as she scanned the area.
The place was packed with students and parents there for the open day.
With all the hustle and bustle, the heat on Lorna's wrist quickly faded.
A flash of urgency crossed Lorna's eyes.
Bernard and Clara noticed her unease at the same time, and Bernard asked, "What's up? Did you see something?"
Lorna didn't have time to explain and said, "I have something really important to handle. You two go ahead. I'll catch up as soon as I can."
With that, Lorna quickly ran off in the direction where the crystal bracelet had lost its signal.
A look of understanding crossed Bernard's face; it seemed like something beyond the realm of ordinary folks.
Clara led Bernard to the academic building to meet the dean.
Lorna followed the signal to a nearby academic building, her eyes filled with confusion. The source of the signal was here.
Soon, she heard voices coming from a room with the door slightly open.
Lorna quietly approached and saw the sign on the door read "Equipment Room."
Inside, the room was filled with pottery works. Lorna was surprised. Could these be the works Clara and her classmates were going to exhibit?
A sharp female voice rang out. "Allan, do you like Clara? Why are you defending her?"
Allan Jennings weakly retorted, "Selene, if you mess up Clara's work, she won't be able to enter the Willie competition!"
Standing next to Selene Peterson was her tall boyfriend.
He glared at Allan menacingly. "Allan, do you dare to offend the Peterson family? You're always fawning over Clara behind her back. Don't you know she already has a boyfriend? You're pathetic!"
Seeing that Allan was still stubbornly guarding Clara's pottery, Selene gave her boyfriend a subtle nod to take action.
Lorna pushed the door open and pointed at Selene and her boyfriend.
The two were instantly frozen in place, only able to speak.
"Who are you?" Selene screamed in fear.
Lorna stepped in, her expression cold and stern. "Who I am doesn't matter. At such a young age, you've learned to be so vicious. Do your parents know how you act when you're not at home?"
Selene's face turned red with anger and embarrassment.
"Mind your own business! Even my parents don't bother with what I do!" Selene snapped, her eyes filled with malice.
Unlike Clara's spoiled nature, Selene was purely malicious.
Lorna's eyes flashed with disgust as she cast a rune on the two of them. The rune glowed briefly before merging into their bodies.
Despite the unknown fear, Selene gritted her teeth, refusing to apologize.
Lorna activated the runes on them, exaggerating to scare them. "If you dare to commit any evil, even the slightest thought, this rune will teach you a lesson on behalf of your parents."
Selene didn't dare move at first, then suddenly realized she could control her body again. She immediately grabbed her boyfriend and ran, shouting threats over her shoulder. "You'll pay for this!"
She then tripped, a big blister forming on her foot. She started crying in fear and demanded her boyfriend carry her to the infirmary.
After they left, Lorna turned her attention to Allan.
Allan, with his blond hair and black sportswear, stood guard, protecting the delicate pottery behind him.
Ignoring him, Lorna squatted down to examine the board, noticing Clara's name written on it.
Allan tensed up, watching Lorna's every move closely.
"Who are you?" Allan was tall and thin, but his voice sounded much older.
Lorna raised an eyebrow, her eyes probing. "I'm Clara's sister-in-law. Your name is Allan, right?"
Allan nodded.
Seeing his strong sense of vigilance, Lorna moved away from Clara's work.
She then smiled and asked Allan, "Have you been forgetting where you've been and what you've done lately? Do you find yourself in different places without remembering how you got there?"
Lorna stared into Allan's eyes, not missing a single clue. The crystal bracelet on her wrist was burning hot, so she took it off and put it in her bag.
Allan's pupils contracted, and he quickly backed away to the door. "What do you want?"
"So, you noticed something was off with your body, didn't you?" Lorna found something interesting. Seeing there was no danger, she momentarily relaxed.
Allan's eyes darted around. Without answering her question, he bolted out the door.
Lorna quickly followed but only caught a glimpse of him disappearing around the corner.
Lorna frowned. Allan was both a high-ranking demon and not, as he had a dual soul.
Lorna had never encountered such a situation before, but for now, it seemed like good news.
The high-ranking demon, lacking sufficient energy, was forced to inhabit a mortal body. Coincidentally, this body had a dual soul, allowing Allan's consciousness to suppress the demon, preventing it from fully awakening.
However, what Lorna was unsure about was whether Allan, who had started noticing something was wrong with his body, had ever come face to face with the high-ranking demon. If he had, what choice did he make?
After all, the odds of an ordinary person encountering a high-ranking demon were extremely low. Given the chance to absorb the demon's powerful energy and become extraordinary, would Allan be tempted?
How did a dual soul body come to be? Lorna was puzzled.
Logically, high-ranking demons should be able to take human form and hide in the city upon awakening.
Who was the unlucky high-ranking demon doomed by fate to such a predicament?
Lorna found it amusing. However, Allan's apparent affection for Clara might be a breakthrough.
With the appearance of a high-ranking demon, Lorna's work had made significant progress. Allan posed no immediate threat, so she decided to leave him be.
"Lorna! What are you doing here? Come on, the exhibition is about to start!" Clara, who had just come to pick up her pottery, exclaimed in surprise as she saw Lorna.
"Alright! Let's go!" Lorna and Clara returned to the Design Department to meet up with Bernard.
