Chapter 27 What Did You Do?

Ava didn't like herself in this state. The lessons she learned from Tyrone had completely awakened her. She would never fall for a man again in her lifetime, especially someone like Ethan.

He kept his word, and the day after returning home, she received a notification of entry into the preliminary competition, as if everything was just a game to him.

Ava brought her samples to the competition venue and submitted them to the organizers backstage. Just as she was about to return to the front, a pretentious voice sounded. "It seems that Miss Smith is really desperate to enter the preliminaries. Have you been played around with by an older man?"

Ava, having learned her lesson from the previous incident, didn't bother arguing with Tasha. Just as she was about to leave, her wrist was grabbed.

Tasha's expression changed from her previous demeanor to a sinister one as she leaned in close to Ava's ear and said, "Don't think that just because you please an older man to enter the preliminary, you'll be able to win the championship. Let me tell you, it won't work. You might as well not waste your time and let your sugar daddy play with your worthless body a bit more to get something out of it."

Ava said, "If that's the case, you don’t need to worry. I'm willing to find a sugar daddy. If you're envious, you can find one too."

With that, she shook her phone, and the contents on the screen completely changed Tasha's expression.

Just now, Ava quietly activated the video recording function and captured the entire scene of Tasha insulting her, and it was very close.

"You tell me, what would happen if the organizers found out that someone like you was participating in the competition?" Ava looked at her with a threatening tone.

Tasha's face turned pale and green with anger. "Ava, you just wait!"

But she didn't dare to do anything to Ava. Although the video wouldn't disqualify her from the competition, she was aiming to become a perfumer for Prosperity Group. If people found out, her reputation wouldn't be good.

She really didn't expect that after just a few days, Ava would suddenly become clever.

Ava put away her phone and walked towards the front desk. She found a seat with a good view and waited for the official start of the appreciation meeting.

There were many big names in the perfume industry around her, some she recognized and some she didn't. There were even some famous investors.

But this was only the preliminary round, and the real big shots would only appear in the finals. They wouldn't waste their time on such small matters.

The host came on stage, and the preliminary round officially began.

Just as Ava's name was called, the host suddenly stopped.

A staff member approached her and whispered, "Please hand in your samples and information."

Ava frowned. "My samples and information have already been submitted backstage."

The staff member said, "I'm sorry, but we don’t have them."

Ava didn't need to think to know that someone must have tampered with her things. Considering this possibility when she came, she had prepared another set of samples and information in her bag.

She said, "I have another set here."

"Okay, please wait." The staff member left, and Ava glanced at Tasha not far away, who had a smug look on her face, waiting to see the show.

The results of the competition were announced on stage shortly after. "The participants who are qualified today are contestant number 7, Tasha Cross…and contestant number 16, Ava Smith."

Tasha instantly looked over, her face turning blue with rage.

She walked over to Ava. "Ava, what did you do?"

Ava grabbed her arm, her cold gaze like a knife piercing through her face. "You stole my samples. Aren't you afraid of the organizers finding out about this despicable act?"

Tasha was momentarily flustered but quickly denied, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Ava said, "Don't know? If you really didn't know, you wouldn't be here questioning me. If you want to escape notice, don't do anything wrong. Later, I'll have the organizers investigate the surveillance footage to show them your true colors!"
