And What If I Am?
And What If I Am?
Chris Belov smiled as he extended his hand to shake Cindy and said, "Of course, I remember Cindy well. She was such a beautiful and sweet girl back then. Miss. Cindy, it's nice to meet you again and I hope we can see more of each other."
Cindy smiled at Chris Belov and said, "It's nice to meet you after so many years."
She felt grateful that Chris Belov did not say anything about the crush she had on him. This was why she had liked him back then. He always behaved maturely and was very humble and kind as opposed to Lily who was arrogant and self-centered.
Sometimes it was hard to believe that they both shared the same parents.
Jack observed both Cindy's and Chris's expressions. Being a man, he immediately knew that Chris Belov had amorous desires toward her but it seemed Cindy didn't notice it.
But how could she? When she was too busy admiring Chris Belov. Jack thought to himself. He could tell that Cindy still liked Belov judging from how she looked at him with so much admiration.
He had done so much research and preparation to convince Chris Belov to join his Agency but now, he wasn't interested anymore.
He was about to excuse himself and leave with Cindy when Chris Belov said. "I agree, Jack. I will join your agency and become one of your stars but I will have to come with my manager.
Let's meet tomorrow over dinner and talk more about it. Cindy, do you mind if I get your contact information? We could catch up sometime."
Cindy didn't detect any motive in Chris Belov's words so she said, "Of course, I won't mind. Let me have your phone."
She typed her number into Chris Belov's phone and handed it back to him but Jack was very displeased with her actions.
He was known all over the city as one of the best CEOs in the entertainment industry. This was because if he wanted an artist to be under his agency, he would leave no stone unturned in achieving this.
He knew that having an international star like Chris Belov in his agency was a big deal and would lift his agency to greater heights. This was why he had worked so hard to be able to convince him to join his agency.
But, right now, all Jack wanted to do was turn him down and tell him that he didn't want him in his agency anymore. However, he couldn't bring himself to say it as the words seemed to have gotten stuck in his throat.
When he finally found his voice, Jack said "Excuse me" and dragged Cindy away.
Cindy could see the scowl on Jack's face but she couldn't understand what had caused it.
She held his hand lovingly but he freed his hand from hers. Cindy wasn't happy but she didn't want to make an issue out of what he had just done so she said, "Didn't you promise to hold my hand if I feel nervous?"
"You don't seem nervous to me," Jack replied.
Cindy took hold of his hand again and stopped walking, causing Jack to stop as well.
He turned to look at her while Cindy asked, "What is the problem, Jack? You don't seem happy. Are you upset with me?"
Jack felt that this wasn't the right place to talk about the matter so he said, "There's no problem, everything is fine. Let's talk more about it when we get home."
The moment he said that Cindy knew that something was wrong. Even though Jack had said he would talk about it when they got home, Cindy felt troubled.
Jack had been so happy and loving towards her but now his attitude was different and so was his countenance.
With the way he was now acting toward her, she knew that he was upset with her. She tried to figure out what she had done.
He had been smiling when he was with the Belovs and became angry when he left them. This means it must have been something she said or did while they were all together.
She immediately recalled how Lily had said she had a crush on Chris when she was small and had the urge to laugh.
She had thought that Jack would not be bothered about something so insignificant but if it did bother him, it meant that, contrary to what she had thought, Jack was narrow-minded.
She smiled as an idea suddenly came to her mind. As Jack held her hand and walked towards the hall where they would take their seats, Cindy stopped walking once again, pulled him back, and said, "Hold on Jack."
"What now?" Jack asked Cindy. She placed her palms on the sides of his face and kissed him. Jack initially wanted to stop her because he wasn't in the mood to kiss or be kissed.
But, he noticed that Chris who was still standing with his manager was staring at them. He put his hand around Cindy's waist and pulled her body closer to his.
When she ended the kiss, he said, "I can see you got over your nervousness. Are you trying to seduce me in a public place?"
"And what if I am?" Cindy asked unabashedly.
Jack smiled at her as his mood improved drastically. He didn't know how Cindy always did it but just a little effort from her was enough to drive him crazy.
He especially loved it when she was being so bold.
Cindy placed her hands around Jack's neck and said, "I love you so much, Jack and that is never going to change. Do you believe that?"
Jack stared at her beautiful face for a while and said, "Yes, my sweet Cindy. I believe that."
"Then that's all that matters Jack, nothing else does. Now let's go enjoy the party."
They both held hands once again and went into the hall while smiling lovingly at each other.
Chris Belov looked at his sister and said, "Only a monster would break up something so beautiful."
"Don't say that Chris," Lily replied sadly. "You promised me that you were going to help me with this and you know how much I've loved and wanted Jack for so long.
I had to get the job done on my face and body because I wanted to look like Jack's kind of woman.
I didn't know Cindy was already in the picture and I frankly don't care. Her presence in Jack's life means nothing to me.
I mean who is she to fight with me over a man? She is just a nobody who is probably with Jack for his money. She doesn't love him as much as I do.
Chris, do you remember how I almost died when we thought Jack was going to marry Maya?
You have to help me no matter what. I must make that man my own."
Chris sighed, "But the deciding factor is Jack. He doesn't love you and only has eyes for Cindy. Didn't you see the way he looked at me when I asked for her number?"
"Do not worry about that Chris. I can make Jack love me within two weeks of being with me. Just help me get what I want.
Besides, didn't you admit to me that you have feelings for Cindy? This is your opportunity to make her yours. We can break them apart, you go after Cindy while I go after Jack.
If we work together, their relationship doesn't stand a chance. Please help me"
Chris sighed again, "Lily, it is obvious that Cindy genuinely loves Jack and I'm not one to force my love on a woman. I will only do this for your sake."
Lily happily hugged Chris and said, "Thank you so much. I promise to do something nice for you in return."
"There's no need for that," Chris replied. "Just tell me what I need to do."
Lily took her mouth closer to Chris's ear and whispered a few words into it.
He shook his head and said, "Oh Lily. You certainly are going to be the death of me."
As they both sat down inside the hall and watched different artists performing, Cindy kept whispering seductive words into Jack's ear.
When he couldn't take it anymore, Jack asked her, "Are you deliberately trying to torture me? Because if you are, then it's working."
"Are you trying to deny that you are enjoying my sweet torture?" Cindy whispered into his ears once again but Jack replied.
"I can see you have become naughty. Once we get home, I am going to punish you and teach you a good lesson."
"I await your punishment with pleasure," Cindy said as she whispered into his ear once again.
Jack took off his jacket and placed it on his thighs as the middle of his trouser began to bulge.
Cindy giggled excitedly as Jack said, "Do you see what you do to me? If this place wasn't crawling with reporters I would have taught you a good lesson right here."
