Chapter 95
Ella thought about what the doctor had said and didn't want Dorian to keep poking Aurora with needles.
After all, Dorian was still so young. Even if he was interested in medicine, he couldn't use Aurora as a target to practice on.
She seemed to have lost her soul, holding Aurora tightly and refusing to let go. She lowered her head and nuzzled against Aurora's soft little body, trying to wake her with a mother's love.
But Aurora barely had any breath left.
No matter what Ella did, Aurora just lay quietly in her arms, completely still.
The Lewis Villa.
When Samuel received Zachary's call again, his resolve was clearly starting to waver.
Given Zachary's personality, if the situation wasn't critical, he would never call him over and over again.
Thinking about how Aurora was so young and had finally been found, he should go see her.
Why should he care about how Ella had treated him before?
After saying goodbye to the Lewis family couple, Samuel headed to the hospital.
As soon as he reached the hospital room door, he heard Ella and Dorian crying.
The mother and son were calling out Aurora's name.
Samuel strode in and saw them holding Aurora. A sense of dread washed over him.
Zachary saw him and rushed over, grabbing him and shouting, "Can you help them? Aurora is still so young, how can you bear to watch her leave?"
Samuel didn't hesitate anymore. He quickly stepped forward and took Aurora's hand from Ella to check her pulse.
Not sure, he checked her neck again.
When he couldn't feel any signs of life from Aurora, Samuel panicked too. He quickly took Aurora and laid her on the bed, rushing to resuscitate her.
Ella nearly fainted, but Zachary caught her in time.
Seeing Ella so frightened and worried, heartbroken over Aurora, all he could do was comfort her softly, "Samuel is one of the top experts in medicine. He'll bring Aurora back."
Ella couldn't hear anything anymore.
Her tear-filled eyes only saw Aurora's lifeless form.
Dorian was crying uncontrollably beside them.
Because he could feel that Aurora was really gone.
Now seeing Samuel trying to save Aurora, he leaned over crying and said, "Aurora was fine before, then suddenly she coughed up blood and passed out and never woke up again."
"Mr. Harris, if you help me save Aurora, I'll learn medicine from you every day from now on. When I grow up, I'll repay you."
Samuel was sweating profusely as he tried to save her.
But even using everything he knew, he still watched helplessly as a two-year-old child slipped away from his hands.
He couldn't save her.
Aurora was dead.
Samuel was filled with regret, stumbling back to the side.
Zachary asked him, "You can't wake Aurora either?"
Samuel steadied his emotions and looked at Ella, his face full of guilt.
"I'm sorry, I came too late. Aurora is dead."
Aurora was gone.
Hearing this result, Ella's heart stopped instantly. Her eyes went black with despair, and she lost consciousness and fainted.
"Ella..."
Zachary quickly caught her.
Dorian also rushed over crying, "Mom, Mom, please don't leave me. Don't leave me alone."
This time Samuel didn't hesitate and immediately started treating Ella.
But he knew clearly that Ella had only fainted from overwhelming grief, unable to accept Aurora's death.
But Aurora would never wake up again.
He had just helped Zachary lay Ella on the bed when Dorian came over, hugging his leg and crying, "Mr. Harris, I know you're the best. You taught me skills. You can make Aurora wake up, right?"
"I'll kowtow to you, please make Aurora wake up, okay?"
With that, Dorian dropped to his knees, banging his little head hard on the floor.
"Dorian..."
Samuel's heart twisted in pain. He quickly helped the child up, his voice hoarse.
"I'm sorry, I did my best. It's my fault for coming one step too late. Aurora is dead. She can't come back."
It was his fault.
He shouldn't have ignored the child's life because of Ella's behavior.
He thought Aurora wasn't seriously ill and didn't need his help.
But he never expected...
Samuel was filled with regret.
"You're lying! Aurora is so good. She said she would stay with Mom forever with me. Aurora can't be dead."
Knowing that Ella had only fainted, Dorian pushed Samuel away. Instead of checking on Ella, he held Aurora's little body and tried to save her again.
But he was only three years old after all, and there was so much he didn't know.
No matter what he did, it was useless.
Aurora really couldn't come back.
Samuel couldn't bear to watch Dorian anymore. With red eyes, he turned and left the room, calling Joshua.
When Joshua answered, Samuel said in a hoarse voice, "Joshua, I'm sorry. It's my fault. I shouldn't have ignored a child's life over a small grudge."
"I'm sorry!"
Hearing Dorian's cries coming from the hospital room.
Thinking about how a child as lovely and well-behaved as Aurora had left this world, even though he had seen death many times before.
At this moment, Samuel couldn't help but shed tears.
Joshua was confused. "What do you mean?"
Samuel choked up, "Aurora is dead."
Joshua's heart suddenly stabbed with pain. Thinking he had heard wrong, he asked again, "What did you say?"
"I said Aurora is dead. She can't come back. Ella has fainted too."
Joshua was stunned. His hand holding the phone suddenly froze, and he couldn't react for a long time.
Aurora was dead?
He had spent so much effort and finally found Aurora, and because he hadn't been with her these past few days, she just died like this?
Joshua couldn't accept this fact and immediately rushed to the hospital.
Zachary arranged for the two children to be separated and sent Aurora to the morgue to be kept in an ice coffin.
Dorian also couldn't accept Aurora's death and cried so hard he fainted.
When Joshua arrived at the hospital room, he only saw Ella and Dorian sleeping on the bed, with Zachary by their side.
He had Samuel take him to see Aurora.
In the morgue, seeing Aurora lying peacefully in the ice coffin, except for her pale face, she still looked very sweet and lovely.
For some reason, tears easily flowed from his eyes.
But Joshua steadied his emotions, reminding himself over and over that this wasn't his child, there was no need to be so sad.
Even though she wasn't his child, Joshua felt like his heart was being torn apart. It hurt so much.
He could even seem to hear the child's sweet, soft voice calling in his ear, "Daddy, Daddy, hold me."
"I don't want to leave Daddy. I want to be with Daddy forever."
He couldn't keep thinking about it, or his emotions would break down.
Joshua turned and left the morgue.
Samuel followed behind him, still feeling guilty. "It's all my fault. If I had examined the child earlier, maybe she wouldn't have left."
