Ella returned to Emerald City.
Zachary personally saw her off.
When they arrived at Tranquil Villa, it was evening.
All the lights in Tranquil Villa were on.
Ella wanted to surprise Dorian, so she didn't ring the doorbell and just entered the passcode directly.
Who would have thought that when she pushed open the villa door, she'd see Ava raising her hand and slapping Dorian across the face in the living room.
Ella was furious and rushed over to pull Dorian into her arms protectively, questioning Ava, "Mom, Dorian is just a child. Why are you hitting him?"
Seeing Ella arrive, Dorian suddenly felt wronged, but stubbornly refused to cry.
Otherwise Ella would feel bad for him.
Especially these past few days when Ella wasn't home, this Ava came over every day to cause trouble.
Either yelling at him or hitting him.
He didn't argue with Ava, just focused on studying his poisons and learning medicine from Samuel.
Who knew that just as Samuel had to leave, Ava came to bother him again.
And she kept cursing at Ella.
Now seeing Ella return safely, Dorian turned and hugged Ella, wishing so badly that he'd never have to be separated from Ella again.
"You finally decided to come back."
Ava looked at Ella, then saw she'd brought a man with her, and angrily pointed at Zachary. "This must be the child's father, right? Ella, how shameless can you be, having a child with someone else and hiding it from everyone while marrying Joshua."
"How can you be so cheap?"
Unable to contain her anger, Ava raised her hand to hit Ella again.
But her hand was caught mid-air by Zachary, who grabbed it and flung it away forcefully.
Zachary bent down and took Dorian from Ella's arms, then looked at Ava with fierce eyes.
"You're Joshua's mother, right? Someone with such status and position, how can you speak so crudely?"
"Let me tell you, the child is mine and Ella's. If you dare touch my child again, I can't guarantee I won't hit even an old woman like you."
After saying this, Zachary worried that Dorian's face hurt and he felt wronged, so he quickly comforted him.
Dorian stared in shock at the uncle holding him, calling out in disbelief.
"Daddy, did you come to pick up me and Mommy?"
Zachary smiled, very satisfied with how Dorian addressed him, patting his head.
"That's right, Daddy's taking you and Mommy home. From now on, if anyone dares bully you, Daddy will take care of them."
Dorian was overjoyed and enthusiastically kissed Zachary.
However, watching them look just like father and son, Ava was furious, her face twisted, completely losing her previous dignified elegance. She glared at Ella and cursed, "How can you be so shameless? The Thomas family paid for you to study abroad, and you went and had a child with someone else, brought the man back, and even made your grandfather so angry he died."
"Ella, hurry up and divorce Joshua, or I won't let this go."
Ella answered without hesitation, "Don't worry, I'll divorce him. But I have to tell you, Grandpa wasn't killed by my anger - it was Scarlett who pulled out Grandpa's oxygen tube."
Thinking about Joshua being with Scarlett and even slapping her.
In this lifetime, even if she died, she would never have anything to do with Joshua again.
But she couldn't let Scarlett get away with it either.
Ella met Ava's gaze and said indignantly, "If you really cared, you'd report this to the police and thoroughly investigate Grandpa's death, and stop Joshua from being with Scarlett. Otherwise, Grandpa's spirit won't rest in peace."
"What are you saying?"
Ava scoffed, "Scarlett pulled out your grandfather's oxygen tube? Are you running out of people to blame? How could Scarlett have the ability to run into the Thomas family and pull out the oxygen tube?"
She wouldn't believe this lying Ella.
To get rid of the blame, she'd make up anything.
To verify what Scarlett said, Ella pressed, "Then let me ask you, the day Grandpa died, was Scarlett at the Thomas Manor?"
Ava was momentarily dazed.
The day Aiden died, she remembered Rhea came over to chat with her.
She did bring Scarlett to the Thomas Manor at that time.
But Scarlett had been sitting in the downstairs living room the whole time and never left, until a servant upstairs shouted that Aiden wasn't doing well, and they went upstairs together.
By the time they reached the room, Aiden had already passed away.
So how could it have been Scarlett who pulled the oxygen tube?
"Answer me, was Scarlett at the Thomas Manor then? If so, did she ever leave your sight?"
Seeing Ava stunned and unable to speak, Ella urgently wanted confirmation.
Even if she couldn't kill Scarlett to avenge Aiden, she had to get Scarlett into prison.
"Ella, that's enough. I won't deny that Scarlett was at the Thomas Manor, but she never left my sight."
"Your grandfather was killed by anger over you having a child with another man and hiding it while marrying Joshua. Don't try to frame someone else."
Ella saw that Ava, like Joshua, refused to believe what she said.
She didn't argue further, saying coldly, "Go back and think carefully about whether Scarlett ever left your sight, whether she bribed any servants at home. When you've figured it out, report it to the police for investigation."
"When Joshua returns to the country, I'll divorce him."
Really heartbroken over the slap Dorian received, Ella took him back from Zachary's arms and turned to go upstairs.
Ava wanted to curse more, but seeing Zachary's fierce look as if he wanted to kill someone.
She hesitated and could only return to the Thomas Manor first to think about what happened the day Aiden died.
Karen saw that Ava had finally left and quickly followed upstairs, walking beside Ella and saying, "Mrs. Thomas, you don't know that these past few days when you and Mr. Thomas weren't here, Ava came several times a day. She was a bit better when Dr. Harris was around, but when Dr. Harris wasn't here, she took it out on Dorian."
"These past few days, Dorian has suffered a lot."
As a servant, she had no right to stop anything.
So she could only watch Dorian being bullied.
Ella looked at Dorian with heartache, touching his swollen little face, her eyes reddening with distress.
"I'm sorry Dorian, it's all Mommy's fault. I shouldn't have left you alone."
Dorian had already calmed down and wasn't feeling that wronged anymore.
He smiled to comfort Ella.
"Mommy, I'm fine. That old witch's slap didn't hurt. It's just that she kept cursing at Mommy, and I hate her. Did Daddy really come to take us back to Eldoria?"
Dorian really liked Zachary.
Before they came to Emerald City, Zachary was especially good to them and to Ella too.
But back then, Mommy wouldn't let them call Zachary Daddy, and said she wouldn't be with Zachary in the future.
So he and Aurora gradually let go of Zachary.
Who knew that now Ella was with Zachary again.
If Ella could really take him and Aurora away with Zachary, they wouldn't have to worry about Ella being bullied anymore.
Ella didn't deny what Dorian said, asking Karen to get an ice pack.
Watching Zachary follow into the room, she stroked Dorian's head and answered without hesitation, "Once Mommy finishes handling some things, I'll take you, Aurora, and Zachary away."
