Chapter 31
Dorian's here?
Ella looked at Joshua who was about to leave and pressed him, "Did you bring him over?"
Joshua turned back to look at her and answered indirectly, "Is your son really only two years old?"
What would a two-year-old know?
Not only did Dorian run out from the manor, but he could also diagnose and do acupuncture.
It was simply absurd.
In his thirty-plus years, Joshua had never seen a child so different from others his age.
Ella's nerves tightened. She immediately avoided Joshua's gaze and said guiltily, "Of course. Don't I know how old my own son is?"
"Well, you really gave birth to quite a son."
Joshua's tone was full of jealousy, and his handsome face was as cold and gloomy as if someone owed him money.
He left the bathroom.
Only then did Ella raise her head, not understanding why Joshua suddenly doubted Dorian's age.
What exactly was he trying to do?
Thinking that Dorian had arrived, Ella quickly freshened up, even though she felt very uncomfortable.
She also wanted to see Dorian.
After finishing up, she went back to her room to change clothes, then dragged her weak body downstairs.
When she reached the stairway, Ella saw Dorian sitting in the dining room.
And next to Dorian was another person.
It was the Thomas family's doctor, Samuel, barely thirty years old but already a specialist professor in the medical field.
He was also Joshua's friend.
He, Joshua, and Mason were all good friends.
Seeing Dorian with him, with Joshua sitting nearby showing no reaction.
So had Joshua told Samuel about her situation?
Before Ella could go downstairs, Dorian spotted her and quickly jumped off his chair to rush toward her.
"Mommy, why did you get out of bed? You're not feeling well, go back to your room and rest. I'll bring food up to you in a bit."
Hearing Dorian call her mommy, Ella guiltily glanced toward the dining room.
She wanted to see what Samuel's reaction would be.
And she was really afraid this would get back to the Thomas Manor.
Afraid Aiden would be upset.
But Samuel didn't seem to care at all, and also reminded her, "The kid's right. If you're not feeling well, go back to your room and rest. Don't go out these next couple of days."
Ella nodded and took Dorian's hand, "Come on, come with me."
She had some things she wanted to ask Dorian.
Dorian felt bad for Ella. He originally wanted to support her, but he was too short to help properly, so he simply walked ahead holding Ella's hand.
After the mother and son went upstairs, Samuel finally looked away, staring at Joshua's gloomy and unpleasant expression.
"Is that kid really an orphan?"
Joshua answered absentmindedly, "Yes."
His woman absolutely couldn't have any blemishes.
Something like secretly giving birth to someone else's children couldn't be known by anyone.
At least during this phase while their marriage was still ongoing, the two children's existence had to either be as orphans, or they had to disappear.
Samuel looked eager.
"So who can make decisions about this child now, you or Ella?"
Joshua looked at him, "What do you want to do?"
"Adopt him, of course. Don't worry, give me the child and I guarantee I'll train him to become a legend in the medical field."
What two-year-old understood acupuncture and diagnosis?
Clearly Dorian had real talent in this area and was very interested.
Last night he had also asked Dorian, who was very willing to learn from him.
Samuel felt he needed to take Dorian as his student as soon as possible.
"I'll talk to Ella about it later."
Joshua replied casually.
It would be good to hand Dorian over to Samuel anyway, so he wouldn't be constantly clinging to Ella.
She was his wife now - how could she spend every day with someone else's child?
Upstairs.
Arriving at the room, Ella pulled Dorian over and asked him, "You came over, but what about Aurora? Why didn't Aurora come with you?"
Dorian knew he had done something wrong and would be scolded by his mom.
He wisely dropped to his knees and apologized, "Mommy, I'm sorry. I was worried about you last night, so I came over by myself. Aurora and Patricia are still at home, but I called them this morning and told them not to worry."
"What did you say?"
Ella felt like she had misheard. "You came from the suburbs by yourself?"
Dorian quickly explained, "I walked to a bank, and Mr. Scott picked me up."
Ella still found it unbelievable. "So you secretly ran out from the manor late at night?"
Dorian nodded his head.
Afraid Ella would be angry, he quickly hugged her hand and acted cute while apologizing.
"I'm sorry, Mommy. I won't do this again. You can spank me, make me reflect on my mistakes, but please don't be mad at me, okay?"
Dorian spoke in a sweet childlike voice, his little face scrunched up looking pitiful.
Even if Ella wanted to scold him, she couldn't bear to.
She picked Dorian up and asked again, "Did that person downstairs ask you anything?"
"He did."
Dorian nodded, his big eyes full of innocence.
"He asked me if I'd be willing to learn medicine from him. He said he could teach me to heal people and save lives."
Ella was a bit confused. "Just that? Nothing else?"
"Nothing else."
Dorian relaxed and lowered his voice, leaning close to Ella's ear.
"Mommy, Mr. Thomas doesn't want to be our father. I think Mr. Harris seems pretty good too. How about we let him be our father?"
Mainly because Samuel would teach him medicine.
Learning medicine was great - in the future if Aurora or Ella had any problems, he could treat them himself.
He wouldn't have to worry about not having money or not being able to cure them.
With him around, he would definitely keep Ella and Aurora healthy.
Ella felt she probably couldn't get much information from asking Dorian.
She'd better ask Joshua later.
She corrected Dorian, "Joshua doesn't want to be your father, and Samuel definitely can't either."
"Besides, why do you need a father? Mommy has the ability to raise you and Aurora."
Once she got divorced and left with part of the settlement, taking them away, life would be so much better.
What did they need a father for?
Someone like Joshua - old age aside, he didn't know how to care for people, just constantly stabbing her in the heart.
From now on, she would stay away from men.
Men were all no good.
Seeing Ella refuse his search for a father once again, even though he had quite liked Samuel, Dorian could only go along with Ella.
He smiled and asked again, "Then can I learn medicine from Mr. Harris?"
Ella touched Dorian's head, maternal love overflowing. "If you're interested, you can learn. But you're so young - can you even understand it?"
This child was only two years old.
Why would Samuel think to teach him medicine?
Ella was a bit curious.
Just then, Joshua pushed the door open and came in.
With a stern face, he gestured to Dorian. "Dorian, go out for now. I need to talk to your mother."
Dorian ignored him and pulled Ella's hand, saying, "Mommy, you must be hungry. Rest well, and I'll bring food up to you."
"Okay."
Ella watched Dorian's departing figure, then turned her gaze to Joshua and asked, "Does Samuel know?"
He must know by now, right?
Otherwise, when Dorian called her mommy, he wouldn't have had no reaction.
Joshua sat down on the nearby sofa, his home clothes elegant and refined, his handsome features cold and distant.
Looking at Ella, his eyes seemed to contain ice.
"While you're still my wife, I naturally won't let anyone know about the disgusting things you've done."
Ella's heart seized up. She was very unhappy with what he said.
Just as she was about to retort, Joshua continued, "Samuel wants to adopt Dorian and train him in medicine. Hand Dorian over to him."
