Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Joshua had no idea Ella would be so fragile.

Seeing the blood she'd vomited all over the floor, he still felt quite distressed.

After having Karen come clean it up, Joshua sat by the bed keeping watch, not daring to leave again.

In the middle of the night, the phone on the nightstand rang.

It was Ella's.

Joshua picked it up and glanced at it - it was the same number from before, someone named Patricia.

Thinking it might be those two kids again.

Joshua answered the call.

On the phone, Dorian pleaded softly, "Can you come get me? I want to see Mom."

Joshua glanced at the time - 2 AM.

It was already 2 o'clock, why wasn't Dorian sleeping yet?

He said very seriously.

"Your mom is fine, go to sleep now."

"No, my mom doesn't drink, drinking could kill her."

Dorian's voice carried a childish sob.

"I'm worried about Mom. I've already come out, but you're so far away, I can't walk there. Come pick me up, please."

When Ella was around before, he would always beg Patricia for her phone.

Then he learned how to use phone location tracking.

And learned many other skills too.

Knowing Ella had been drinking, he couldn't sleep at all. He took Patricia's phone and secretly ran out alone to find Ella.

Joshua was shocked, "You're saying you ran out of the manor by yourself?"

"Yes, I snuck out while they were sleeping, but I'll be careful. I'll send you my location, come pick me up quick."

Dorian operated the phone skillfully.

Soon he sent his location to the phone Joshua was holding.

Joshua was really afraid it was as the kid said, worried he might be taken by bad people, so he immediately called Brian and had Brian go pick him up.

When Brian arrived, he really did find Dorian in front of a bank ATM.

He looked around - there were no adults anywhere.

And this place was several miles from the manor.

Brian hurried over to pick him up and put him in the car, very shocked.

"You walked all the way here from the manor by yourself?"

This was only a two-year-old child.

Not only did he run away from home, he also knew to call for help.

Brian was truly impressed.

Dorian's legs had gone numb from walking.

Now finally sitting in the car, he drank the water Brian handed him while saying.

"I ran here by myself. I wanted to see Mom, but Mom was too far away. I really couldn't walk anymore so I called you guys."

Dorian had originally wanted to take a taxi, but had no money.

Plus taking a taxi meant he could easily be taken by bad people, or easily be sent to the police.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, Dorian figured he'd better rely on his own two legs.

Luckily, Brian picked him up.

The whole way, Brian simply didn't know how to describe Dorian.

Was he really a two-year-old child?

Though so small, what two-year-old had such a clear mind, doing whatever he wanted to do?

Anyway, he found it quite magical.

Brian felt Dorian had exceptional talent, like he had some kind of superpower.

Half an hour later, Dorian was delivered to Tranquil Villa.

Joshua had Samuel stay in the room to keep watch while he went downstairs to receive the child.

Just as he reached downstairs, Brian came in leading the child.

Joshua walked over with a dark expression and asked Brian, "You really picked him up at the bank entrance?"

Brian nodded, saying sincerely. "Too smart."

But Joshua felt that a child who ran around like this wasn't a good thing.

He pretended to be stern, crouching down to pull Dorian over for a lecture.

"Running around like this, aren't you afraid of being taken by bad people?"

Dorian smiled, his face full of confidence.

"There are cameras everywhere. Besides, I'm not stupid, how could I go with bad people?"

He scanned around the room, not seeing Ella.

He blinked his big eyes and asked. "Where's my mom? Take me to see Mom quick."

"She's asleep. I can take you to see her, but you can't make noise, understand?"

Dorian nodded his head, looking very obedient.

Joshua was quite taken with him.

For a moment he didn't think about him being someone else's child, and led him upstairs.

Arriving at the room, he let Dorian go in, saying to Samuel.

"You can go back, I'm fine here alone."

Samuel turned around.

Seeing a small child suddenly rush over and lie right by the bed.

He was very confused, looking at Joshua.

"What's going on, where did this kid come from?"

Joshua knew he couldn't let this person know the truth.

Otherwise it would quickly spread to the Thomas Manor.

He made up a random lie, "The child of Ella's best friend. Her friend had an accident, so we're looking after him for a while."

Samuel was skeptical, couldn't help staring at Dorian.

Then surprisingly discovered that Dorian was actually holding Ella's hand to diagnose her.

It must be diagnosing - his fingertips were accurately pressed on her pulse, his small face full of worry.

He was very curious, staying put instead of leaving, wanting to see what else Dorian would do.

Joshua also noticed Dorian's unusual behavior, walking over to ask.

"Dorian, what are you doing?"

Dorian finished diagnosing Ella, looking at Joshua angrily.

"Aren't you Mom's husband? Why did you let Mom drink so much alcohol? Her internal organs are damaged."

He felt so bad for Ella, his eyelashes becoming moist, then he turned to stare at Samuel.

"Are you a doctor?"

Samuel still had a look of complete astonishment on his face.

He crouched down to pull Dorian over, asking him. "Were you just diagnosing her?"

He thought it was normal for Ella's best friend's child to call Ella mom.

He didn't think much about that question, but was very surprised that such a small child could actually diagnose conditions.

Dorian nodded, seeing that Samuel in front of him was indeed a doctor.

He said. "Do you have needles? The kind for acupuncture, can you give me a few?"

Samuel asked him, "What do you need needles for?"

"To give Mom acupuncture, that way Mom will get better faster."

The child's words stunned Samuel again.

He didn't want to believe that acupuncture and diagnosis, things only adults studying medicine would do, could be done by a...

Dorian looked way too small.

Really full of interest in Dorian, Samuel asked Joshua.

"How old is he? What do his parents do? This is simply a medical prodigy."

Joshua also hadn't expected a two-year-old child whose teeth hadn't even all grown in yet to understand those things.

Seeing Samuel so interested in him, Joshua felt a bit jealous.

"Two years old. Who knows if this little kid just holds a phone all day, randomly learning stuff online."

The internet was so advanced now, and with no parents supervising, he probably spent every day on his phone surfing the web.

Anyway, he felt a two-year-old child couldn't possibly know about diagnosis and acupuncture.

"It's fine, a few needle pricks won't kill anyone anyway."

Samuel said, rubbing Dorian's head.

"Wait for me, I'll go get you needles."

If Dorian could really do acupuncture.

Then he had to take him as a student right away.

He'd definitely achieve great things in the future.

"Okay, thank you."

Dorian turned his gaze back to Ella.

Seeing Ella's pale face with blood still between her lips and teeth, she must have vomited blood earlier.

He had originally really liked Joshua.

But now Dorian was extremely angry, couldn't help looking at Joshua and scolding.

"I thought you were pretty good before, wanted you to be my father. But you can't even take good care of my mom."

"No wonder Mom said she doesn't like you. Then I don't want you as my father anymore either."
